  1. Given our midfielders didnt get near him I am surprised it is that low.
  2. Thought he was poor at Cappielow myself, each to their own though. If you watch the game back, none of those saves were particularly challenging for a Championship goalkeeper.
  3. Whomever makes these should be getting a hefty pay cheque from Bullen, we actually don't look as bad as we were! Hard to see who was marking Holt for the first, looks like McAllister initially but then McGinty and Stanger are floating about as the ball gets to Holt - who knows. The second is a bloody howler from Albinson (Mutch in goals sooner rather than later?) and the third is just comical defending. I don't think there's anybody near him.
  4. Totally this, "Right lads, let's play it out from the back today!" and then just leave them to get on with it. McGinty, as you say, is so limited that you can tell he's going to horse the ball up the park before he's done it.
  5. How would you make that connection from nowhere? He obviously asked the players to play out from the back towards the end of last season, it was laughable against Thistle and it has been laughable when we've tried it this season as well. You just need to look at the impact Doolan has had on Thistle's style of play to see what a good coach can do in terms of playing style. There is no pattern to our play, we don't find gaps between the lines, we very rarely support our wide players and give them options...THAT is coaching and it is clear that he's not very good at it. With Chalmers coming in and Murphy due back, we might get lucky and be able to rely on their individual brilliance, but it will be in spite of Bullen's tactics.
  6. Agree with this. How are we assessing players and giving them contracts, only to then discover they're too slow? With all the scouting tools available these days, surely you should know how quick a player is? At least Jack Young looked a tidy player, potentially a long term Murdoch replacement if he does well.
  7. Suspect the knives will well and truly be out after Gayfield. There is no way this group of players should look so clueless.
  8. We are definitely needing another midfielder in as we've lost two and only brought in one. They better be bloody good as well, because I'm fed up watching other teams run through us. Remember, that was a United side missing Craig Sibbald today and they couldn't have been more comfortable. I guess we will need to wait and see what happens with all our players back fit, however I suspect that will rarely happen this season with our aged personnel.
  9. How long does Bullen get to turn this around then? We have Arbroath next week, with them being largely shite but coming off a brilliant win. Then we've got high flying Falkirk, a team who passed us off the park last season, at home in the cup followed by a trip to the house of horrors that is Firhill and Kerr McInroy's Partick Thistle. I think we are well capable of losing all three games and serious questions being asked of the manager.
  10. Honestly going to give it a month before McGeady is the gaffer.
  11. I don't particularly remember there being huge away supports last time we played.
  12. I'd have thought this match thread would be bouncing. I'm sure it will be ten pages long and full of seethe by 7pm this evening anyway. Looking forward to McGeady versus Freeman, what a lark.
  13. York are an utter shambles. Pybus refused to play the other week and he's been shipped out to Dorking Wanderers permanently. There was also something going on with the starting XI being leaked online prior to that match. The owner has had to come out and defend all of this amid accusations that he is picking the team! They also haven't won a game yet and the coach seems like a lunatic, all in all I'm sure Dipo is really happy.
  14. Exactly. Shankland was pretty much on his last attempt at s decent level of football when McCall signed him.
  15. Ashford seems like a great lad in the dressing room, but he's paid to be a footballer and that he aint.
  16. The only signing in Scottish football stranger than Mark McKenzie's two year extension. See also Hewitt, Mikey.
  17. To be fair, we have four CMs signed, that's as much as we could reasonably expect to carry at this level. At full back we have two players for each position, regardless of what the fans think of those players. We have Murphy, McGeady, Chalmers, Ashford, Amartey for wide positions, however I think Franny will eventually play up front. I will concede that Rose needs a partner with much more capability than Bryden and McKenzie - i think a big target man type who they can play off is needed.
  18. Was Pendlebury any good? Can't decide if he's going to be able to control a game or if he's just gonna have the role of pinging in worldies.
