I like the look of this team It is harsh on jack but he could still come off the bench and offer a serious contribution.

The problem with the MLS is the lack of intensity in the games and the quality of defending. The MLS often comes on "freesports" on freeview either quite late at night or early in the morning. The mls has 2 conferences, two parallel round robins where almost half the teams from each qualify for the "playoff round" for the eventual "mls cup" game which decides the title winner. The thing is, during the round robin section, there is no threat of relegation or incentive to win every game as 14 teams from 27 will qualify from the MLS cup playoffs anyway. What results is a weird game of football. Because of the "designated" player system mixed with a wage cap system, you have older players who have a shadow of the desire they once had playing out the twilight of their career alongside players who are perhaps of a standard which is hard to judge due to the strange pacing of the matches Another thing you notice is the almost complete absence of defence. The positioning of defenders in the games that come on freesports are definitely not to the standard you see in the SPFL. In mls games (especially during the league section), what you immediately notice is that football in usa is very different. Games are played at padestrian pace, theres usually little press or urgency from each side. Seeing gauld go to this league was disappointing as it was arguably a major step down

As a rebuttal to this, He has answered criticism as being a celtic reject to 1.becoming their 1st choice right back 2.being awarded a 5 year contract In terms of the 2nd quote; Those criticisms are based on variables of technical ability of which he has been making improvements on week on week. I believe hes even adding goalscoring to his game recently.

i'd agree with you that he has areas to work on. I dont watch much Celtic but from what I understand, his crossing and weight of pass leaves a bit to be desired along with his defensive positioning at times however he seems to be on the right track in improving to the point where getting a scotland call up may not be out of the question. It wasn't that long ago you would only have to say jack hendrys name to get a laugh and look the improvements he has made to his game.

Im a bit gutted for A.Ralston. SIgned a new contract with celtic yesterday, the boy has defied every bit of criticism levelled at him and has consolidated his place as 1st choice celtic right back (a position we have struggled with in recent years). Im not sure what Clarke wants from the boy before he's deemed "ready" for a call up but he is surely banging down the door now. This is just one person's humble opinion however, his inclusion of stephen odonnell over anthony at this point baffled me a little.
