Just as you said :It might seem like a sparse crowd for a final - the attendance was recorded as 28,294. A couple of reasons as to why this might have been are that in addition to a miners strike going on at the time, the final was dubbed the boycott final as the SFA raised the admission price from 1 shilling to 2 shillings. Unsure why it was held at Celtic Park instead of Hampden, perhaps the SFA didn't want the huge Hampden terraces to seem sparse so held it at a stadium with a smaller capacity.
From partickthistlehistory, here's the match report by Willie Maley:

I think it is Dundee Hibernian. The cup design could have changed in 100 years.HistoricalKits.co.uk shows that both Dundee United and Vale of Leven used V-style jerseys and white shorts around 1915 or so (Falkirk in the 1920s had the V pattern, but paired with dark shorts, and there's obviously Airdrie, but the 'V' would be darker than the rest of the shirt). Dundee United did win the Forfarshire cup around this time, but the current incarnation of the cup doesn't look like the trophy in the picture.

Posted my vote last week. Not expecting them to win the seat though [emoji54].

Tommy Coyne left Clydebank in search of his fortune in 1983/4 season, before returning in 2000/01 (19 years after his debut).

I think the eastern European teams were named as they were because their players were workers for the railway companies rather than the grounds being located next to a railway track/station. In much the same way as clubs associated with the armed forces being named 'CSKA'.i'm surmising inverurie locos are near a station ?
as well as lokomotiv moscow, leipzig, sofia to name but another 3

It was £3 per ticket for Nelson's testimonial. League matches were £4.50 by 1986, so O'Leary's match was probably around that per ticket.30, 000 x £3.00/ticket = £90,000 not £150,0000 -

1974 I believe. What was the lifespan of teletext? I remember it early 80s but no idea when it was first available.0 -
I imagine they are qualified referees anyway. As are the AVARs.

I'm pretty sure his contract was not renewed as he was accused of being too critical about Scotland's poor performance against Costa Rica.Aye, Archie quit the BBC after Italia 90. He then went to Radio Clyde and provided surreal radio commentaries that Salvador Dali would have approved of. Nobody listening had a clue what was happening on the park.

That's the piece I read.

Unsure about Murrayfield or Babcock & Wilcox.
Regarding Babcock & Wilcox, I found a piece that mentions that they lost the use of Moorcroft Park and couldn't find an alternative. It seems the team may even have been called Moorcroft FC at the time.

They reinstated a "lucky loser" when Manchester United entered the Club World Championship.
I think it was Darlington.

Why do people struggle with mini roundabouts and not realise they operate the same as larger roundabouts?
I see this all the time at a mini roundabout near me.
Mainly with women.
Why do folk take a shortcut over the mini roundabouts, when turning right or going straight on ?
2 hours ago, Ross. said:Might sound a strange question but is it always part of the test in the UK? I never bothered learning when I lived at home but have been taking lessons over here for the last 6 weeks or so. Was surprised to find out that motorway driving is not part of the test back home. First 2 lessons apart, I've been getting taken out onto the motorway every time over here.
I don't remember encountering a roundabout on my driving test around Anniesland, which was admittedly many many years ago.

Never mind the FA, Derby should have suspended the three (or maybe four) players for breaking the club's rules (I know Keough is out with a long term injury anyway). A fine is nothing to these players.English FA: Get arrested for drink-driving, no problem, good luck on international duty with Wales
Also English FA: A 16 year old acts like a 16 year old - NO FOOTBALL FOR YOU, COME BACK IN 14 DAYS
Not saying that this lad didn't do anything wrong but the punishment seems excessive given the punishment handed out to other players for much much worse off pitch indiscretions
Keogh may even sue his team mates!

I don't think it's mandatory to hate your former players. They spent the money well and have a better team now.Remember this-
Just lost the game and you're all smiles and wanting selfies with an opponents player, a guy who snaked his way out your club for extra money.
