  1. Yes they have lost 2 games at home in League against Coldstream and Kirkcaldy & Dysart and lost 3 away games in League at Preston, Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy & Dysart.
  2. Dunbar are certainly not stuttering they have now went six games undefeated with five of these games played away from home all against teams either fighting for promotion or fending of relegation. Four players unavailable today with three of them attending a wedding and still dominated the game at Meadowbank. All to play for next weekend in front of what should be a bumper crowd with end of season awards getting presented after the game.
  3. Assuming yes but the Lochore keeper would have a different opinion the way he was playing. I have seen him play four times this season and in my opinion is one of the best in the League.
  4. I think some of the Fife referees must read a different rule book from everybody else. Some brilliant goalkeeping from the Lochore keeper and the woodwork denied Dunbar today but how the referee denied Dunbar a penalty in injury time was unbelievable. small margins in this League but Dunbar played well against a much improved Lochore side who are on a good run especially in cup ties and Dunbar have no reason to be deflated. The aim was promotion at the beginning of the season and it is still achievable. Anything better is a bonus. Three players unavailable today is worrying at this time of the season but if the referee had done his job properly today we would all by celebrating. All to play for next weekend.
  5. Bit of cat and mouse going on today with 7 changes to both sides from when the sides met exactly 6 months ago. All to play for in the League next week. Sean Stewart unlucky to be sent off for a second yellow after being tackled from behind by Lewis Mackie who clearly influenced the referee with his antics.
  6. More worried about how much of a ban Dean Whitson will get after being sent off as he will be a huge miss in the remaining League games.
  7. I was not blaming the referee merely stating I was not impressed by his refereeing. We were well beat by a better team on the day. We have had the same referee before many times and I just don’t like his style of refereeing.
  8. Just one of these days that nothing went right for us. Gregor Goldie struck the bar twice and we missed a lot of chances on a tricky playing surface but credit to Kirkcaldy who took their chances well and were well organised in defence. Personally I was not impressed with the referee but only my opinion. Still a long way to go before anything is decided in this League and if Kirkcaldy play like that they will upset a few clubs before the end of the season.
  9. Credit to big Cammy Dawson for scoring the winner when he controlled a high ball, held off two defenders and swivelled before firing low into the net. He sometimes does not get the credit he deserves !! Well done big man. Very impressed with Ryan Weir the whitehill number 9. He sailed past 3 tackles to set up their first, was fouled for their penalty and only a brilliant save by Sean Brennan denied him near the end. Hard working, strong tackling player who I’ve seen quite a few times now and he never fails to impress. Whitehill belied their League position and will upset a few teams before the end of the season.
  10. Not only was Josh Walker’s goal from a free kick a peach so was the opening goal from James Redpath who is making a nice habit of scoring spectacular goals. The third was great vision from Josh Walker finding The marauding run by Michael McFarlane and his cross was tucked away by Johnny Edmond who is returning after a lengthy injury. Missed a lot of chances again but another win, another clean sheet and a few players rested. Big game against Whitehill Welare away next weekend remembering full well that we lost there last season.
  11. Gregor Goldie managed to shoot just before the Kennoway goalie wiped him out and I think the booking was probably justified. If he didn’t shoot before being fouled I think it would have been a sending off. Just hope his injury is not too bad as we missed his movement up front after he went off.
  12. Not the greatest performance in a game spoilt by very blustery conditions but deservedly picked up another three points. Two goals from defender James Redpath, and one each from Gregor Goldie and Darren Handling sent Dunbar in at the interval with a 4-0 lead. A bit of controversy after the restart when Goldie was wiped out by the visitors keeper who was booked and saw Goldie hobble off injured. The impressive Jake Grady pulled one back for Kennoway on the hour mark before James Redpath missed a chance to get a rare hat trick when his penalty was saved by the Kennoway keeper after a shot was handled on the goal line. Credit to the visitors who never gave up and in my opinion belied their lowly League position.
  13. Dunbar played the same starting eleven that beat Preston Athletic in their last game. Bob Berry headed in Darren Handling’s cross after 29 minutes and substitute Liam Gregory scored a great individual goal with 13 minutes left. Second clean sheet on the bounce with the defence giving little way and Shea Dowie producing some great saves when Dunipace threatened. Never an easy venue to collect points but another well deserved win and only 14 games left !!
  14. A great result as Leith Athletic are a bit of a bogey team for Dunbar United having won on 3 of their last 4 visits to New Countess Park and it was always going to be a difficult game !!
  15. Two well taken goals from Cammy Dawson bringing his tally for season to 11 , one from The industrious Ben Bathgate and an own goal from a wicked Michael McFarlane cross saw Dunbar go in at the break 4-0 up. Leith pulled a goal back on the hour with Dean Whitson turning a close range header into his own net and Leith looked a lot more dangerous after a change of shape. Dunbar again defended well and a bit unlucky not to increase their lead with Bathgate and Grotlin going close and Dawson denied a hat trick after his header rebounded fro the post. Young Gregor Goldie twice getting behind the Leith defence late on firstly denied by the keeper and then crudely brought down by the Leith number 5 who saw yellow for his challenge when it might easily have been red. Three more deserved points gained and another hard game next weekend away to Kirkcaldy and Dysart. An impressive home debut from Josh Walker whose vocal encouragement was great to hear not to mention his brilliant midfield display.
  16. Willis Hare was suspended and Jonny Grotlin at his sisters wedding and prior to start of game both Liam Gregory and Josh Walker pulled up with injuries.. Newtongrange started well but only really brought out one great save from Sean Brennan before Cammy Dawson opened the scoring with a great header. Darren Handling scored twice early in second half and with the hosts chasing the game there were some meaty tackles coming in before they pulled a goal back in last ten minutes after a soft looking penalty. The whole Dunbar team played well and fully deserved their second ever win at Newtongrange in the last 51 years, Still a long way to go in this League though so not getting carried away as still a lot of twists and turns to come before anything is decided.
  17. A stunning free kick from James Redpath and a penalty converted by Liam Gregory saw us go in with a two goal interval lead. Gretna came out strongly in second half and reduced leeway in 56th minute with headed goal from Russell Currie but some dogged defending saw out the rest of the game and deserved 2-1 win. Willis Hare was immense in defence and young Aaron Congalton was back to his best after a difficult few weeks although credit to all the players who gave everything against Lowland League opponents and on a tricky 3G pitch. Dean Whitson was unavailable and Josh Walker was cup tied but both available for next weeks table topping League match at Newtongrange. Nice to see Shaun Miller back on the bench after an early injury against Stirling University.
  18. The winner of Dunbar/Dalkeith tie in King Cup are at home to either Fauldhouse or Lochgelly in Second Round
  19. The home game against Preston Athletic has been moved to Friday 30th December with 7.30 pm kick off rather than on New Years Eve according to Preston Athletic’s twitter.
  20. Dalkeith Thistle at home on 21st January I think is the King Cup.
  21. Dunbar were every bit as good as Gartcairn on Saturday and would probably have won the game but for two terrible refereeing decisions which led to two of their 3 goals - one of which was in the 93 rd minute. Their first goal was an acrobatic mis kick which bounced on the 3G pitch over the heads of everyone and their second came from a corner when the player who won the corner was at least four yards offside but allowed to play on. Always easy to blame referees but really this one was bad and cost us the game. Their goalie brought off two brilliant saves to deny Dean Whitson and Josh Walker when we were pushing for an equaliser but good luck to Gartcairn in next round. Not ideal preparations when not allowed into changing room until a boys game ended and team talk etc had to take place outside Hopefully Josh Walker can keep clear from injury as he clearly is vocal and a leader which we have lacked recently and oh yes he can play as well !!
