  1. I think this is pretty much the crux of it - both seem to pull off outstanding saves and make basic errors every so often. As long as Clarke doesn’t make them every game! Other than that, Albinson is better coming from his line (not that he is great at it, but Clarke seems poor at it) while Clarke is better with his feet.
  2. Plus, even if he doesn’t want to stay - he is here for as long as the current starting keeper so no idea how that’s even relevant to anything!
  3. I can understand why he would be frustrated if that was how things unfolded tbh. I would find it quite bizarre if he has been told he won’t start again though, given he is our only back up goalkeeper right now.
  4. Can’t take any enjoyment out of that Ireland loss, infuriating as f**k! We have absolutely fucked an opportunity to win it.
  5. Genuinely shameful refereeing from Beaton, just no excuse for that level of incompetence to not give a foul there.
  6. Ahh okay, good stuff! The line up in that one will be interesting.
  7. I put Dumbarton on a league winners accumulator with Dundee United and Hamilton. Each way so the other two are fine, but I’m really starting to dislike Dumbarton!
  8. Thanks. Strange we didn’t try to get some game time into McGinley in particular.
  9. Looked like a very young Queens Park side too. Which first team players played?
  10. That sounds utterly horrific, hopefully not! I feel like I’m being incredibly harsh on the young guys, but I really don’t see much in Tomlinson. He can run in a straight line if there is space in front of him, but anything outwith that is pretty horrendous. I didn’t see the Airdrie game though, so I don’t know if he offered a little more going forward there.
  11. I just can’t see how we have the players to play that tbh. I don’t think he’ll drop McGinty, ultimately Sanders has made individual errors too and we looked far more solid with Stanger next to McGinty.
  12. I’m not sure goal scoring form is a poor metric of your value to a team, particularly when you are scoring at that rate but obviously there is far more to being a striker (particularly a Scotland one) than that. I agree with everything else you say though, I think he needs to start against Netherlands to see what his style of all round play does against a team of that standard.
  13. If Rodgers is rightly called out for his nonsense, McInnes and Kilmarnock equally should be for his comments and appealing what is a blatant red card. Incredibly poor stuff.
  14. IMO, I would be moving Hickey across and bringing Patterson on before Taylor moved there too.
  15. Yeah - he was dropped for Bryden for the Airdrie game so as long as it doesn’t happen again and becomes a pattern - as you say I don’t think the recent games count.
  16. I think you have probably said what some of us are worried about, but couldn’t say it. Probably slightly harsh in terms of alarm bells, though that would be the case if we persist with that sort of thing. We have definitely been better in terms of structure etc etc most of the time, but there needs to be scope within that structure to get the best out of one of your best players in Chalmers. As you say, the Bryden thing is very Bullen and that’s worrying. Obviously to a far lesser extent, as is the Amartey situation. I don’t even think it should be a question of whether you want Bryden, Tomlinson, McGeady or Amartey to come off the bench in attacking midfield and yet he can’t even make the bench.
  17. Yeah, he might be good enough for this level in time but he needs to drop down. You see in flashes what he can do, but nothing remotely consistent enough.
  18. Each of them were miles better than Bryden technically at that age tbh - we didn’t see anything of McCowan at 19 though. We don’t seem to be bringing through young players that look particularly good technically right now, so far most look very raw and can offer something in terms of energy and driving runs at times but that’s about it.
  19. Surely the reason for Musonda playing is that there wasn’t anyone else able to start? We did that with Musonda on Tuesday too - Brown so far seems to have us playing different styles - at times we are more direct and at times look to play. I don’t mind that tbh - it was just woeful today and basically every single player was well off it.
  20. He isn’t good enough right now, but he has shown he can finish. Loaning him out for a year might see him develop the aspects he doesn’t have right now. It doesn’t matter if he plays wide midfield or up front, he has too many limitations to impact games in an attacking sense at this level.
  21. Bryden is nineteen years old, so we really shouldn’t be binning him.
  22. McHugh seems to be a completely different player to Syla. IMO, if McHugh starts then Dempsey just sits deeper and the opposite if Syla starts. He was obviously poor today, whereas he offered something completely different for us in midweek in terms of driving with the ball etc. But yeah, it really should be the end of Bryden starting out wide. For me we either go to three in the middle of the park and allow Dempsey and McHugh to use their energy to get after teams and drive us on up the park or we try playing Dowds and Willoughby together.
  23. Would it have changed things? Probably not. We have nothing attacking wise in the full back areas though, so it was worth a shot. It certainly wouldn’t make things worse, and gives someone game time that we really need to be starting games. Making a more attacking change in the full back areas isn’t something to slaughter a manager for though tbh.
  24. There isn’t being fit and there is coming on with ten minutes to go to help the side look a bit more balanced going forward when it needs two goals… If he can’t manage ten minutes, when Musonda wasn’t offering anything then it’s a worry.
