If you don't mind wee effie and her chums piling onto buses with a decent walk at either end.

It’s literally a five minute walk from a bus stop at the bottom of the town with a massive car park. The most vulnerable have been vaccinated at local surgeries, to ramp things up larger venues are needed.

There is plenty of things to criticise but this isn’t one of them.

The thing is, they have said that.

Nicola Sturgeon stood up at one of the briefings and specifically said it was a balance of risks. Swinney has also said the same.

Swinney has categorically stated numerous times that schools are safe. Hence much of the rage towards him.

Tomorrow’s figures a last chance for me not to lose all respect for our vaccination roll out. At the very least needs to be showing that it will be getting near 40000.

I was unaware this is a competition.

Maybe the actual vaccination program should be more on peoples minds than who looks bad or who looks good.

It's about saving lives not a talent contest.

A faster roll out saves lives,  and quickens restrictions easing.

Literally no idea why people wanting a faster rollout has been likened to a talent contest.

Source for the 99.8% figure? Good news if so. If so we really need a big jump next week at least 30k+ daily.

Sturgeon said at the start of the week that care homes were effectively done as they were unlikely to reach 100% due to different factors.

Monday must see numbers rise to high 30 thousand or the government should be under serious pressure.

This summer will actually be even worse than last summer, if that's how they're promoting it, and with the possibility of being unable to escape this hell island - and with all vulnerable people and most of the wider population innoculated with highly effective vaccines.

    How is that possibly justifiable?

Whitty and others have talked about hopefully having next to no restrictions, but last summer was nothing remotely close to that. And this is before the inevitable shitting of the bed as the usual winter pressure metrics begin picking up in late September/early October.

Again, how do we ever get out of this mindset?

I can’t remember exactly what the English restrictions were, but ours were dreadful.

Gyms didn’t open until something mental like August.

Aye I don't see the point in that and it sounds like a non-starter anyway. Fulham right next door would be a good fit, I don't watch them though so don't know if they need him.

Think it would be better to take a step down to a level where he'll play.

Surely there’s a top level club in Europe in need of a centre midfielder of his talents!

Alloa had more possession, more corners, the same amount of shots on target, on another day we could have lost that. We scored 4 goals while still looking disjointed going forward, the midfield didn't offer any protection for the back four.

Alloa were a bit of a shambles at the back and Parry looked slow to react to a couple of the goals.

The keeper looked dodgy on a couple of occasions

Miller had a better game than previously, but a couple of shaky moments

Ndaba looked good going forward, got caught out of position a couple of times, but didn't cost us

Muirhead was the leader we have missed

Baird, the weak link in the back 4 today

Chalmers and Murdoch, were better but chased shadows out of possession

Walsh was involved more, did the easy things well

Smith, quieter than previous games but still put himself about

McCowan, 1st goal, made space for himself, Parry's position was wrong and McCowan put it away well, second, a strikers finish

Wright, got involved, won his headers, took Andy Graham for a walk a couple of times and created a bit of space

Alloa's midfield had the better of the two but they had nothing up front and defensively they were a bit ropey, they created a decent amount of chances against us, more than we gave Dunfermline.

Don't get me wrong, it was a good result but I am not being over critical, we haven't turned a corner but after today it looks like we might be about to hopefully.

Incredibly harsh, other than a spell after Alloa scored we were the better side.

On another day we could have lost,  that is just blatant nonsense. Every team is going to create chances against us when we play with four attacking players on the pitch, but I wouldn’t say Alloa had a huge amount of clear count ones whatsoever.

Murdoch and Chalmers haven’t clicked but there’s no way I’m having the Alloa midfield got the better of ours when we won by four goals to one.

What do they show as their working?

That the vaccine stops transmission by 60%, and lockdown measures and completely lifted in mid February.

Not exactly working, but the hypothetical scenario that will lead to that amount of deaths by April.

Trying to figure out the point in the vaccine if the second story in tomorrow's Telegraph is near accurate.

What are they modelling that would lead to 1000s of deaths a day if the vaccines have been proven to prevent serious illness in every case? 20210130_222251.thumb.jpeg.6e6d70837420259eb7f821f31da5b09e.jpeg

A link to the twitter picture if the attached is too blurry.

So, with a vaccine 1500 people would die if the restrictions were lifted relatively shortly.

With a vaccine, basically the same amount of people would be dying per day as the peak without one. Utter fucking nonsense.

Good result, performance was ok, mostly on the front foot.

If you look at the match stats, Alloa has the same amount of shots on target as Ayr but I wouldn't say the result was purely a case of us taking our chances and they didn't. We were as open at the back as we ever have been and Alloa attacks were coming through the midfield while we didn't have much created via midfield. McCowan proved he is our most valuable asset once again. Two different types of goals. Hopefully he'll sign an extension shortly rather than moving on in the next 48 hours.

Muirhead was probably my man of the match and played like he didn't want to lose. Walsh did ok, Wright put himself about and won plenty of the ball, I think his presence pulled 2 centre halfs away at McCowans goal. I wouldn't say he looked dangerous today but he did look useful.

Zanatta annoyed me even when he came on at 4-1, killed almost every move he was involved in.

Happy with the result, ambivalent to the overall performance but one positive other than the result is 5-6 players with pass marks and its been a while since we have been able to say that.

    5/6 pass marks in a 4-1 win?!!!!!

Another question I have regarding zero covid.

Given our cases are now down to around 140 per 100000, why is Devi saying about normality for the start of next year if we use this approach.  It shouldn’t shouldn’t take longer than about three months in our current lockdown position to get the numbers to a minuscule level.

It will only take 3 months with restrictions as they are. I don't see too many folk accepting these restriction until May !

I’m not even sure if it will take as long as three months. Numbers halved in the space of a month, so hopefully end of March numbers will be negligible and you would like to think hospitals won’t be under pressure.

I was meaning in an Ayr shirt! It’s clear Kerr isn’t that keen and would rather have a makeshift right back instead of houston

    That’s what I mean....

Getting rid of a 21 year old, who has played a decent amount of first team games for his age would be ridiculous! More than able to play at this level and should improve.

4 league goals, despite averaging about 35 minutes of playing time.

That's1 more than anybody in our team to save you looking.

I think he'd be an excellent summer transfer for us if he was available. Kerr would be fully aware of him from their time at Falkirk.

I do also get it that a striker should not solely be judged on his goals, see my post about Andre earlier in this thread. It doesn't do any harm if he does though. O'Hara got 10 Championship goals in a part time team last season.

He did well last season. I’m underselling him, however you are most definitely over selling the Dunfermline squad. D’Jaffo sums it up well!

We started with Zanatta up front on Saturday and you somehow don't think that O'Hara and McCann would start for us? Baffling.

Its all about opinions I suppose.

We have a new striker now.
O’Hara has barely scored for them regardless.
My point is baffling and yet McCann would start for us despite, apparently not having a goal to his name.

My general point was about the squad on paper, being why I said it hasn’t worked out that way. At the start of the season most sides in the league would have been happy with Anderson as their striker.
