BOD’s statement about the situation suggested they weren’t all that happy about it, and in choosing to miss out certain details has meant their Secretary has escaped the worst of the criticism which has been aimed at the League, the SFA, etc.

I don't think anyone would be too happy about it but their statement also  basically suggests that they don't have a leg to stand on and it was their administration error .

That is absolutely appalling from the HL.

No , the rules were breached and the appropriate action was taken according to the rules.

BOD blamed no one but themselves for their error and accepted their punishment.

That is the way football should be. ;)

Are there any real pubs in Pitmedden? A quick google suggests there's upmarket country restaurant and an off licence with a couple of tables inside. Neither seems like it'd be ideal for a bus full of football fans.

Is there a social club/bar at the ground?

We usually stop at the Newmachar Hotel  if coming off the AWPR  .   About 10/15 minutes away from Pitmedden.

No piss taking, no “incredible bantz” from me. Genuinely just want to say that it was great to be back at Glebe Park today and wish you well in your attempt to get back into the SPFL.

Your players can be proud of their efforts and were unfortunate not to win the tie, but you are certainly in a better place than you were when Wilson took you down.

Chatting to a number of your fans, over the course of the afternoon, I think it’s safe to say Highland League football is League 2 football in the 1970’s, which was sad to hear.

Only sour note was your young fans behind the goal at the end……but you know what, a large number of years ago, that would probably have been me, we’ve all been young and full of life.

Good luck for the rest of the season 🇦🇹

    Cheers.   Good post.

It was a great game and we are obviously gutted that the performance didn't get us the win . Those 2 chances that hit the post in the last few minutes of normal time were agonising. The most pleasing thing for me was watching two sides who wanted to play open attacking football which I think possibly  explains your HL reference. The 2 games against Stirling this season have certainly  been that way.

I think both sides were both resigned to penalties in extra time though as not many chances were created in that half hour.

And yes we are in a much better place generally as a club . Football wise it couldn't get much worse than the Wilson and Smith years. Hopefully we can go on from here and achieve our ambitions. It won't be easy but I think yesterday showed how far we have come.

We also hit the woodwork multiple times.  Wasn't a vintage performance by any means but as said previously, Huntly defended really well (was impressed with Booth in particular who made some excellent tackles) and we were on top for the majority.

We do need to start creating more chances or results like this are going to become a bit more regular and cost us as they did last season.

I think the chances are being created , just not being put away.

To be fair Huntly defended well and we struggled to break them down. We have a few very talented young players but are missing a bit of experience in midfield and up front. Losing Seth Patrick was always going to be a big loss . Looks like a very hard game awaits us in Brora on Saturday.

Exactly this. We seemed to miss McHattie's calming influence in the first half.

Its sad people are looking to take credit away from Steve Clarke.

He changed us for the better so get on board and stop worrying about being perceived as wrong.

Exactly. The objective of the game on Wednesday was not to lose. We did that , down to every one of Clarke's team playing to his (and Austin McPhee's ) system.

Due to illness and injury our strength was always going to be a disciplined defence and midfield. That turned out to be exactly the case.

There is little point in anyone comparing our performance on Wednesday against any other game in the last few months as it was a completely different scenario altogether.

Clarke and McPhee should be absolutely congratulated for getting the performances required from the new guys in that pressured environment.

The performance schools were recommended by the dossier by Henry Mcleish which was basically copying other nations who have done it.

Also Celtic were doing a link up I think before before Dundee Utd so he wasn’t implementing it for the first time in Scotland.

So to summarise he has f**k all really to do with any resurgence with Scotland.

Craig was one of the few who actually went out and acted on that dossier . He knew change was needed.  I think that was basically the point the OP was making.

Most at the time just went through the motions at Largs , got their badges and just continued with the same old tat they were taught 20 years earlier as players. Unfortunately for Brechin , we ended up with quite a few of these types who talk a great game but do f**k all to follow it up.

In my opinion Craig is one of football's genuine good guys. Very approachable and honest.

Agreed, the majority of the directors are fans, some are lifelong, too and suffering as we are. We also don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes to fix things, granted maybe nothing and heads are buried in the sand but equally there may be plans that just aren’t in motion yet.

This all looks spookily familiar .........

Brechin fielded a strong side which has given them 7  wins out of 7 games so far this season and we put out a team with some inexperienced players to start, an early 8 minute goal took Brechin by surprise but they stayed in it and fought hard to take the game back to 3 all with minutes on the clock,  with a 2-1 lead at half time we should have stayed with that first half side but Dodds preferred to sub 2 players at the start which upset our play and allowed Brechin to come back in to the game.

The final score was the correct one but with proper management that game should have been put to bed way before it was, knowing that Brechin were on a roll game wise Dodds should have fielded a stronger side to start and then let the younger players on, young Mackay for instance was chasing the ball all over the park in that first half instead of maintaining his wing position, he'll learn, anyway enough said.

McHattie did well for them so he'll step up come the January windae.

    Who do we have next.

Barry Wison's pre match video kind of sums  up the complacent approach to this game . His preparation on how Brechin play was seemingly based on watching their Scottish cup highlights from last week.

This was the type of management which contributed to our catastrophic downfall. Just saying .

Yeah surely there must be some one to replace davo at least think we have plenty strikers. Dorrans just got released by dunfermline might be too much of a drop down though

Luke Donnelly would be a great signing ;)

Very honest and fair comments by the Buckie manager today EXCEPT he thought the injury time tackle was not a sending off offence! Not only was that one but also the above mentioned elbow!

You have to remember we are in the highland league. 🤔

Edit.  Word is Buckie are going to appeal it .

Think a few  players were held back for the Buckie game next week after having had to play Hibs B in midweek.

I would hope that Spark, McLeod & McGrath would all start next Saturday.

Obviously some people can't see the broader picture. 🤔;)

McDonald confirmed.  Probably not the best league to play in if you're injury prone. 🤣

Reading his resume , it seems rather than being injury prone  he had a back problem which was operated on and hopefully rectified. He played most of last season for Edinburgh City (or whatever they call themselves now)  switching from grass to plastic pitches  and seems to be ok so fingers crossed.

A substantial five figure fee, come on the people in the know how much is it?

That along with his wages, all in gamble for Brechin to get back in the SPFL for a 35/36yr old?

Not slating it, his record speaks for itself, just given the supposed financial outlay at his age its a huge risk.

    £250.50
