Thankfully the poster I replied to knew I was being tongue in cheek.

Ronan looks a good signing, Jamie staying is good news if it happens and there’s still time yet to bring in a winger.

Let’s not wet our pants just yet.

Fair enough mate, I'm just tired. Time for bed. Maybe I'll wake up tomorrow and we'll have signed a couple of players who'll make all the difference! COYS!

Fair play to you mate, turning McGrath staying into a negative takes some doing 😂

You're just being a dick here. You know what he's meaning, it's not a slight on McGrath, it's just stating the inescapable truth that both of these players cannot play in the same team.  We tried to preempt McGrath leaving and now instead of having someone who can enhance our team along with McGrath, we're left trying to justify the signing of someone who was meant to replace him.

I'll be voting Greens from now on.  I still want Scotland to be independent, but the SNP are Nanny State turbo.  f**k them.

Absolutely. If no green candidate on the main vote? Cock and balls will be drawn. Then green on the list as per last time.

Clownshoes giving the patronising guff about putting things in “pencil” and “we have to learn a new word - indicative”

I’d still think he was a cock if he spoke to adults like adults, but he’s absolutely infuriating with that shite.

He's an arrogant wee fucker. The sooner he slides back into obscurity, the better for everyone's mental health. This constant barrage of fear has normally sane folk absolutely terrified.

I can only speak for myself here, but I’m not a fan of lockdowns at all - I suffer from anxiety / agoraphobia so not being able to do the things I normally do (which are basically just having a routine of seeing my friends / family & travelling to the football - I support a Highland League team) - has set me back massively, to the point where I can’t even walk down the street without suffering from panic attacks.

I’m currently receiving face to face CBT therapy (which was one hell of a struggle to get in itself, I had to go private for that) I’ve had my first jab & got my second one next month.

Because of my anxiety I’m exempt from wearing a face covering, & I’m fearful of getting hassled out in public / travelling on the train because of this.

Not trying to make this all about me because I’m sure others have suffered way more, whether because of the virus or what it’s done to them mentally, but I really think after someone’s received their second dose, they should be allowed to decide how to live their lives again, whether that’s taking precautions like wearing masks or not.

Long story short, normality needs to come back ASAP in my opinion, because I can’t even begin to imagine the damage to people’s mental health that’s already been caused, & the scaremongering from people like the media & Deepti needs to be nipped in the bud.

    Apologies for the ramble.

I can't disagree with you mate. We no longer need to worry about covid 19 as a health emergency as the vaccines are killing it. We definitely need to focus on the damage done to undiagnosed physical and mental health conditions. We're going to be facing another pandemic of disease and illness at this rate, but clowns like Devi and leitch can't or won't see it. Too happy going on about variants and the need for restrictions.

Oh they are all c***s. Don't make the mistake of thinking I'm defending them.

And that still leaves Patel and many others to add in.

They really are an utterly despicable bunch.

Absolutely. Politicians are generally c***s. The Tories are a whole higher level of cuntary. Despicable humans who would have the working class back in the work houses working for pennies.

This makes no sense, even ignoring the effect it will have on business there’s no way it will make a difference in a big city where people will still be travelling in and out of it to all over the central belt every day.

You're absolutely right but the "experts" who have the ear of the Scottish government are zero covid fantasists.

It appears Wales are using up more of their stock of vaccines, whereas the rest of the UK is being a little more cautious, keeping enough in reserve so that they don't run out for second doses if there's any unexpected drop in supplies.
Easy enough for the Scottish Government to ok more vaccines to push ahead with first doses for everyone under 40 in somewhere like Moray, quite a big undertaking if they were to do the same in Greater Glasgow area.

Still no appointment for 1st dose for the majority of 45-49yo yet !

I know a few folk in Moray with no underlying health conditions in their 30s now getting the vaccine, so hopefully it'll move to more populated areas soon

But it's not within their control already. The SG isn't able to pass legislation that impedes on the rest of the UK, quite rightly. The SNP have duped some people along into stoking up their grievance angle that they rely on.

I'm sure they can hold a referendum on the subject without it being legally binding...

Grievance angle? What, being dragged out of the EU against the democratic will of the Scottish people? I thought we were a "partnership of equals?" A campaign of xenophobia and lies in England wins the day and we should just"suck it up?" What a craven, forelock tugging serf you are.

  10. The point here is that the UK government is saying it will deny the democratic will of the freely elected Scottish parliament. No one forced people to vote SNP or green party. If we sit by idly and allow them to stop this, what's next for them to legislate out of the Scottish parliament control?

ETA I would not want a referendum if we were still in the EU. That's the material change that constitutes the need for another independence referendum. Clearly we're not a partnership of equals if 68% of Scottish voters can be ignored

    You’re correct.

Someone like me will always vote tactically for the union whereas others will always vote SNP no matter the policies.

I voted Labour and Conservative despite not liking anything about Labour.

    What to do about it?

Maybe if we could agree to have an independence poll every so often, say 10, 15, 20years then in the intervening period people could vote for the party whose policies on the economy, education, health etc., they wanted.

I reckon there must be a solution to this hopeless mess which we are now in.

Years ago the SNP were referred to as ‘tartan tories’ whereas now they tend to be ex Labour.

Anyway, maybe someone’s got some ideas how to bring about more ‘normal’ politics.

Maybe we should, you know, respect a vote on whether we should hold a referendum, by our elected representatives in the er, Scottish parliament. Wouldn't you say that was fair and democratic? If not why not?

I didn't mind how it ended, just felt they didn't quite pull it off.  Certainly hinted that Buckles wasn't the top man,  but everyone will be satisfied by him being the 4th Man.  OCG likely to leave him alone as he is taking the hit for it all, and the police can sweep it all away.  Just like everything else the police have ever been accused of, and considering the clear endemic racism in the police, I found it an apt ending.  Everything goes back to the start and carries on like nothing happened.

They didn't quite pull it off storywise though.

If this was what they were going for they should've watched "the wire" ending. This was brilliant for showing that the cycle just keeps repeating

It's almost as if the vaccines work and the risk of transmission outside despite all those gatherings is well er pretty much zero.

Aye but the variants, yup smashing them also, but what about the potential quadruple variant from mordor that can bypass the vaccines if the sun is shining at 3.04 pm on a Saturday, we just don't know.

Maybe time those scaremongering media melts acknowledged this as well as some of our politicos and their blinkered advisors.  Nanny state pish.

Get restrictions in the bin and give people their life back.

Absolutely agree with this. I think most normal people are now just quietly going about meeting family and friends whenever and wherever they like. I know I am but definately we need to open the wider economy now because for the last year we've been existing not living. Get us back to the football, gigs, and whatever else people like to do for fun. We can't live like this indefinately because "we just don't know!!!"

  14. As the seething Inverclyde revolutionary popular front states above, it's a combination of wealth and employment status that defines your social class.  Like any definition there are fuzzy edges but the general standard is the ABC1 used by most market research companies.
Grade Social class Chief income earner's occupation Frequency in 2008[3] Frequency in 2016[4]
A upper middle class Higher managerial, administrative or professional 4% 4%
B middle middle class Intermediate managerial, administrative or professional 23% 23%
C1 lower middle class Supervisory or clerical and junior managerial, administrative or professional 29% 28%
C2 skilled working class Skilled manual workers 21% 20%
D working class Semi-skilled and unskilled manual workers 15% 15%
E non working State pensioners, casual and lowest grade workers, unemployed with state benefits only 8% 10%
Lot of pish used by the ruling classes and aristocracy to divide and conquer the working class. If you need to work to maintain your standard of living? Guess what? You're working class.
