  1. The Ronettes - Is This What I Get For Loving You
  2. Cheers for the game tonight. Enjoyed it.
  3. No problem. I'll find you guys just before 8:30 then.
  4. I can make 8:30pm as my other game is definitely off so if you're still short tomorrow then I can make up your numbers if need be. If you get someone who's regular I'll happily stand aside though. Which pitch?
  5. whereabouts are you playing & when? It seems like my 8pm game at Townhead has been patched, so if you're short and can't get one of your regulars give me a shout.
  6. The Smiths - Reel Around The Fountain
  7. I've been following their chat as well since Johnson ended up there as well (for considerably more too) and while they were very excited they seem to slowly be realising that they've paid (relatively) a lot of money for a player who might not be the superstar they were expecting. At least Hemmings has scored a few goals for them. Are they not sat 19th in the league having spent £1m+ on players in the summer?
  8. Townes Van Zandt - Our Mother The Mountain
  9. Funny you say that as I'd also been wondering about his contract situation. I'm a McGhee fan, I get why people have issues with him given his history and certainly he's prone to some baffling tactical choices but over the piece he seems to be a good fit for Motherwell and I'm not particularly precious enough to be "offended" by him. I'd certainly hope we'd be looking to extend his deal not least as a lot of what the club have been talking about trying to build is a succession plan and having McGhee around for another season or two to head up the management/coaching side of things makes obvious sense while the likes of Craigan, Lasley, McFadden, McManus, Hammell et al are doing their badges and getting experience. I honestly can't see Craigan wanting to step away from his BT gig any time soon bit it's worth pointing out again what a good job both he and Lasley seem to be doing with the u20s. I went along last night and he's instilled a decent style of football with the younger players improving and playing a composed, possession based game. For me bringing keeping that momentum going needs a degree of stability through the club and it'd be good if we were in a position where everyone was bedded into their roles for the foreseeable. There seems to be something of a mid-long term structure being put in place and that's not really going to be helped by losing a manager who, if nothing else, has brought a bit of stability back to the club. We're cutting about employing 'fan engagement' managers and what not, to me it suggests that we're looking a bit longer term on things. Not that it actually means anything but a few of the players he's brought in of late have been on 2 and 3 year deals so you'd think that that might point to a bit of longer term planning. Ultimately it all depends on how things go results-wise I suppose but if we're in the position where he manages to keep us mid-table-ish and relatively out of danger then I'd be fully behind him being around Fir Park for a longer period. I'm not sure who it was that mentioned it before but I could even see a scenario where McGhee might step up to a director of football style role in the future.
  10. Announced at the same time that #Warbs has been hit with an SFA disiplinary charge as well. Delicious. http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/scottish_fa_news.cfm?page=2566&newsCategoryID=1&newsID=16526
  11. Not quite. It was more just hand wringing about the state of The Rangers. Macintyre trying to put a positive spin on things with "....but, but they played well didn't they?". Jackson whilst not putting the boot in certainly highlighted Dave King's "lack of investment" and seemed quite happy to have a couple of digs at #warbs in terms of his tactics, signings and subsequent meltdowns at the press "he doesn't seem to take criticism well." apparently. Ferguson just seemed baffled at how bad they are. I had to laugh when Macintyre read out a text re: McInnes and Ferguson, bless him, started to talk positively about McInnes and how he managed to change things round and get the result. He only lasted about 3 sentences before turning his point round to how McInnes was able to affect the game in a way that Warburton couldn't and that just set him off about Warburton again.
  12. Derek Ferguson. Your point still stands though. Add the fact they had Macintyre hosting and it's basically just a Sevco podcast.
  13. Guessed it was a keeper when I saw the rest of the names on the bench. 2-1 win, Craigan really seems to be doing a very decent job with them.
  14. Belic & Lucas start for the 20s tonight. A trialist on the bench as well. Exciting times. Annoyingly I'm playing 5s in town otherwise I'd have headed along for a look.
  15. There's yer Lee Lucas signed until January. http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2016/09/14/lucas-signs-for-the-steelmen/
  16. Listening to McGhee's post-match interview it sounds like we'll be signing Lee Lucas. Seems like McHugh's concussion is (not unreasonably) being viewed as a longer term issue and Lucas can offer cover there until they feel someone like Campbell is ready for the first team. Pointed to what he felt we lost having to bring Cadden into that area today and suggests Lucas could fit in that sort of area.
  17. The most remarkable thing about the Hartson piece is that he's employed by BT Sport who have the exclusive rights for the Bundesliga and broadcast live games over the weekend and hour long highlights packages OF EACH GAME back to back on a Monday.
