Big game next week now.

Looking forward to this , Kelty playing a wee bit better away than at home so hopefully that continues tomorrow then Cowden can start picking up next week [emoji16]
3 - 1 Kelty will do
Kelty have the better squad. Better players in the important areas. However its a free hit for us. Hopefully we can put up a good show and give us something to work on. Certainly it couldn’t be tougher for our new management team. It’s a good occasion though and I’m looking forward to watching via the stream. Unfortunately I can’t make it.0 -
I fully expect to see us drop out the league at some point. That's fitba.
Enjoy bottom.
That’s the spirit.0 -
The Notts County players were going to go on strike if he wasn't sacked. He resigned before the sacking could happen. He was then invited on to Sportsound to explain himself (which was a disgrace in itself) and completely made a fool of himself, by calling his own children 'foreign'.
The guys an arsehole, even before he was found out to be a racist. See my posts on the sportsound watch thread dated 10/03/21 & 08/05/21
Good luck. I'm out.
Against my better judgment I did read your posts. My goodness. I worry for you.0 -
I did read what he said which was initially passed off as banter but had pretty deep racist undertones to it .
Well. I don’t see it that way. We will disagree on that one.0 -
I’ve always had a real soft spot for Cowdenbeath but have got to ask are BB fans totally comfortable with this appointment given his recent past?
If you read what he actually said it was more of an unfunny joke than anything else. I’m entirely comfortable with it.0 -
The first 11 we have can easily compete at the top half of this league, I'm sure our new manager will make this happen.
WRT Nish, if Smith had stayed with us we'd have been in the promotion playoffs.
Agreed. Smith was a big miss when he left for Oz.0 -
Every club has one, Stenny seem to have a bagful.
I was thinking that some lessons would be learned when Berwick went down. Their fans (especially one) were absolutely torturing us every week. It’s extremely naive thinking that any club is going to be safe season after season. Every club can have a bad season and fall out the league.1 -
A racist managing a beast. Sums Cowden up.
Goodness me you’re the hardest working idiot on here. Kudos.4 -
I’m impressed with this. I’m hopeful we can get out of the position we’re in. Welcome to our new management team.

You completely mis read my post. The laughing emoji is for,IMO the general suggestion that Calderwood and others would be mentioned, nothing to do with his illness. I have the deepest sympathy for him and family as both my parents suffered, from Vascular Dementia and Alzheimer’s respectively and I often describe it as a living death for the sufferer and living hell for the family. I am a supporter of both their respective charities. That you should question the post and read into it that I was having a go because of his illness completely baffles me. Surely nobody expects Jimmy Calderwood or Scott Brown to be the next Cowdenbeath manager
Whatever you were trying to say, well it didn’t hit the mark. It didn’t look good. It still doesn’t. That’s all.

Why? I’m merely stating that like some of the previous quotes for the managers job it was absurd, Scott Brown being another. Not only has Jimmy been out of football for years I was also well aware of his illness.
It didn’t look good.0 -
There has been some cracking shouts on here but that is the best of the lot[emoji23]
I don’t get the humour. Maybe you could explain it to me?0 -
At the Albion Rovers Supporters' Trust meeting tonight Brian Reid (who took part by phone) categorically stated he has had no contact with Cowdenbeath/Donald Findlay and would not be off to Central Park!
I was surprised to hear his name mentioned tbh. We’re not in a position to tap up other clubs managers. Very strange how this non story surfaced.0 -
Jimmy's time has come and gone I would say. He was good coming in and keeping us in the Championship but his next season was the start of the slide which sees us where we are.
He lost Kane Hemmings & Greg Stewart which made his task extremely difficult. We were very close to staying up.0 -
He’s probably on about 10k a week at Aberdeen as a player coach. Not sure how that’s going to work ?
Logistics apart. What a shout.0 -
Fair comment.
Tbf, he knows the league and has the contacts to bring in players who will improve the squad.
Won't be cheap unless he's desperate for a job.
Also fair comments. We could do worse no doubt.0 -
How about Ray McKinnon?
Won the league last season with the Spiders and is available.
This is not a slight on Ray McKinnon but I would have won league 2 with the Queens squad last season.0 -
MANAGEMENT TEAM
Cowdenbeath FC can this evening confirm following today’s Scottish Cup tie that manager Gary Bollan and his management team of Craig Easton and Ian Flaherty have left the club by mutual consent.
We most warmly thank them all for their hard work on the club’s behalf in their time at Central Park. Indeed Gary has been our longest serving manager in almost 30 years having been appointed to his post in November 2017. In that first season, taking over the club when it was at a low ebb, Gary preserved our League status with an against the odds win over Cove Rangers. Building further on that Cowden advanced to finish 6th and then 4th under Gary and his team in the next two seasons. Last season was a very difficult one given the many trials and tribulations visited on us by Covid and its truncated nature.
Season 2021/22 though has produced a run of very disappointing results and the club has fallen to the foot of the League 2 table despite the management team's best endeavours. And as everyone will appreciate, ‘football is a very much a results based business’. We do though most sincerely wish Gary, Craig and Ian all the very best for the future.
The search for a new manager is of course now underway and Goalkeeping Coach Dave McGurn will take charge of team matters in the interim assisted by club captain Craig Barr.0 -
Ahahahaha what an embarrassment Cowden are. Glorious.
Enjoy bottom & out every cup.
^^^^Yellow feets less intelligent cousin^^^2 -
Think there may be a silver lining.
Pray tell.0 -
Edinburgh City, Bonnyrigg Rose, Annan, and Stirling Albion are the four favourites I'll be chucking on the coupon today
Two ties I'm most interested in are Brora vs Albion and Stranraer vs Darvel
Hoping for a good day of cup action!
Kudos.1 -
Goodness me. Things are going from bad to worse. Shambolic.
