It does feel like that at times, sometime you wonder if you are doing the right thing. None of us are psychologists. Its exactly as @Hoose Rice says. Pushed is probably the wrong word, but that's the only time he will even acknowledge it happened and is its still having an impact. On the outside its the drink that's caused him to lose jobs, his partner and access to kids, but those close know that's just the symptom not the cause.

Your initial flippant comment was in poor taste and an indication of how many in our support refuse to acknowledge how much was known and ignored by many many people in the club. The people responsible only got away with it for so long due that culture of secrecy and fear and denial.

What exactly stops your friend naming his abuser and taking the steps to have that person or persons held to account? Surely a route exists for him to do that with his friends supporting him?

The victims might like it known who knew about it and what they did , or did not , do .

Then victims can do that themselves, I’d imagine most of those responsible are now dead so can’t really sue for slander nor can surviving relatives.

Celtic could I suppose insert some clause in the settlement that victims don’t do that but I’d like to think they wouldn’t as it wouldn’t be a great look.

Offering settlement is absolutely the right thing to do however, these people and their families have suffered enough and for too long. You can’t put a price on integrity and doing the right thing, it just has to be done.

a foul is awarded when a player “tackles an opponent to gain possession of the ball, making contact with the opponent before touching the ball” - meaning, in most circumstances, that if you get the ball first, you’re in the clear. However, Law 12 also talks about fouls that are due to the player being “careless, reckless, or using excessive force.”

All of the above contradicts your logic that it was a penalty as none of this applies to AJ

Getting the ball is subjective if he never changed its course in any meaningful way. The ball was still going in the direction Silva played it and he would’ve got on the end of it regardless of the Johnston* touch

It’s not subjective at all, AJgot the ball and Lawrence didn’t which makes them different. You cannot view them in the same way.

You can argue Silva might have gotten the ball first which is debatable as CCV looked like he may intercept however Silva made his decision to not try get the ball and to dive.

Silva clearly played for it but it was obvious he was caught before he went down. Johnstones right boot caught him on the knee.

As I said, it’s very similar to the foul where Dessers goal was disallowed. On both occasions the contact probably isn’t enough to send the player flying.

how can it be similar if one player got the ball and the other didn’t?

That i can understand, the interception is clearly obvious, you see the ball moving differently, theres no debate on that

The debate on the contact is likely why it's slowed down, the ref has to be sure there's contact or not, and using slow motion is obviously better for that

The only time slow motion really distorts VAR is when a ref is asked about a tackle possibly being a straight red card id say

Contact doesn’t mean foul though. The question is did the contact impede him and well….you know my thought on that

I’m sorry that I have hurt you, but really, it just needs any Celtic poster to mention “VAR” in a post, and everyone knows that they mean it’s conspiracy territory.

Why would I be hurt by your lack of integrity and narrow mindedness? It’s pity I feel for you that you need to go the level of actually making something up 😂

Nope i believe the 4 against my team weren't clear and obvious errors, and that we have been shafted in OF games this season (isnt that the answer im supposed to give)

Its hard to describe, everyone has a different opinion on C&OE but there's an argument that if a team concedes a goal or is denied a goal/penalty because the ref misses a foul then while its not 100% clear and obvious (all 3 decisions today for example) they are still reasons enough for VAR to get involved

If VAR wasn't used today and celtic never won and the goldson handball was spotted post match, would you sit back and say "ach well its a tough one to spot"

Ok so it’s possible in your opinion for VAR to be used multiple times in the same match and the referee still come to the wrong decision in some instances and not in others?

    Underhand and sly.

This was a very simple task to quote the post where I suggested some underlying conspiracy.

You haven’t done that because I haven’t implied any such thing so to suggest I have is the only thing underhand and sly here and that’s really disappointing from someone like you. You don’t need to make things up, it just isn’t necessary

I find it fucking tremendous how you dont have faith in VAR when literally twice at ibrox now VAR has ruled out 3 Rangers goals that were given by the onfield officials and gave celtic a penalty that the onfield officials missed

VAR has been used 5 times in Ibrox OF games this season, 4 times to the benefit of celtic,

Yet you don't have faith in it, fucking hell

I can only assume that you believe all of those decisions were clear and obvious errors?

Don’t be silly, of course you can. But do you and your fellow Celtic fans always have to try to underhandedly introduce some form of conspiracy theory?

Can you highlight the post where I suggested that? I said it was a poor decision so I really don’t get how you get from there to me suggesting conspiracy theories.
