Speaking of utility men, McCrorie reminds me a bit of Dom Ball.

A very fair and for me accurate description of the McCrorie situation. His attitude makes him likeable, (on the pitch, not as a spectator!) but there has to be more quality.

I wasn't talking about players switching up to the A team. There's a UEFA youth competition and also the SPFL challenge cup which are mainly midweek games. The B teams play strong lineups in those games which affects player availability in the LL fixtures. Makes sense, and as you say a bit of a mockery of the LL.

Would imagine most Cowden fans feel they can compete in the top half but unlikely to be competing for the title. So not as dramatic either way as you are making out. Pretty realistic bunch at Central Park usually

Yes they are. I have already been contacted about match ball sponsorship and I’m going to take a match. They were waiting til the fixtures were out before looking at dates.

That’s fair enough, and I know it’s only a snap shot of a whole season, but in the games I was at McGrath was pretty quiet and nothing about him especially stood out. He did slip a pass in for a goal, but it was a pretty simple pass.

Don’t need data to see that Ramsays delivery is incredibly accurate and he can use both feet.

It’s very very difficult to pull a whole new squad together and be successful. I would guess it’s almost impossible unless you have more clout than the rest of your league like say Kelty had. But he has to start somewhere and build a core for the next few seasons that can be added to as required to eventually arrive at a decent team. Another issue is that alot of youngsters being released won’t be good enough, as seen when Billy Brown tried the same thing a few seasons ago, albeit the LL isn’t as high a level so more chance they can be alright. Maybe Ross can lay the foundations for a future manager?

If you’re being factual, the 4th place finish was a season cut short by covid as well. (A lottery possibly?). Cowdens form was on the wane by that point and wouldn’t have finished 4th had the season been completed. Personally I couldn’t stand Bollan and never understood why he got so long in the job but everyone has their own perspective.

Very poor in possession. Decent at headers, what you would call an old fashioned junior centre half. The game is evolving though and he isn’t a League player. Makes too many crazy errors to give away rash penalties etc.

Hope Considine has a mare at the Saintees. Turned down a 1 year deal at 35 after a long term injury, which also included a pathway into coaching. Fool.
