He was sold to Hearts in the January transfer window 2016, reported for around £150K.

He was going to be out of contract at the end of the season and we would have been due a development fee for him.

I believe the fee was much smaller than that (£20-40k) due to United insisting on a healthy sell on clause, might be bullshit but what I heard at the time.

Based on Csaba's comments, it sounds like Rakovan will start as number 1.  Wikipedia suggests he's made 30 appearances in more than 5 years.

His wiki page is incorrect, he played 24 times last season as mentioned in the press release.

Also was listed as 9 foot 8" tall on wiki but I don't believe that to be true.

Technically, I think King is excellent. Very two footed, can beat a man either side, can shoot and can cross with either foot. Against that he's a pussycat and is far too quick to give up on a contested ball. With a little bit of dig though, or in a decent team, I think he could make plenty of chances.

Don't always agree with you but pretty spot on here. Think King is very much a confidence player but even during a poorer spell at the end of the season he still chipped in with a couple of assists.

Would be a good signing. Experienced.

Would be a shite signing, would have been as well keeping Flood if this is the level of player we are looking at.

Hopefully Sturrock can unearth a few decent players from down south as that is what we were told he was being brought on board for.

Does that include Mehmet? I would have thought he would have merited a reprieve

Wont be fit for start of season with knee injury picked up against Dunfermline. Need to make sure we bring in a good experienced keeper who knows how to communicate with his defence (and can keep his goal kicks in the park).

He seemed generally decent any time he got a chance however, the one thing he'll be remembered for was conceding a goal at Morton by dropping a ball at a forward's feet then screaming for a foul when it was anything but!

Had a wonder game in the U20s v Rangers but never got 2 games in a row in the first team for us which tells you all you need to know. He perhaps deserved a chance when Danny's Rogers form dipped but to stand a chance to become first choice, you need a few games to prove your worth and not one game randomly and selected for challenge cup games v 3rd or 4th tier.

He would be a good back up, tho left us to get games

Cheers guys. He is being looked at as back to Bell who does seem to pick up a few injuries.

  7. He's had a few dodgy moments, but has pulled off some absolutely superb saves. His performance in our recent game down at Berwick was fantastic, he kept us in the game time and again in the first 70 minutes. Has an issue with crosses (with Hinchy as his coach what do you expect  ) but his reflexes are very impressive and he has made a good few saves since he joined us that I don't think any other keeper in this division would have been anywhere near.

    Cheers
