Got a 16/1 winner (went of at 8/1) and still managed to finish the day down after a day of 2nds and 3rds. I even had it in a lucky 15 but the 7/4 shot, 15/8 shot, and 7/2 shot all failed to emulate my outsider. Gambling can be so fucking frustrating at times but then again that's half the fun of it.

It shouldn't really get a mention on this thread but skinny latte.

Pfffffffffttt......over to the football now to hopefully finish the day in profit.

What a lovely day it could be today for horses with no recent form coming good at a decent price as they get there going.

Pffffft, a losing day for me today and once again a horse I got on at a decent price was backed as though it couldn't lose only to run like a three legged donkey. Ended up £20 down on the day which certainly isn't a disaster but disappointed in the runs from two of my main fancies today.

French Derby was a very rough race with French Fifteen and Imperial Monarch both badly hampered along with a few others. I suspect the eventual winner is nowhere near the best of those who started the race and without the trouble in running the two I mentioned both could have ran big races. Imperial Monarch finished particularly well from well out the back and will be worth a look next time out and may benefit from a step up to 1m 4f.

I done pretty well yesterday but a honking run from Red Jazz which I got at 9/4 (went off 11/10) stopped it being a great day. Just the one bet for me today on French Fifteen in the French Derby.

Yep, very similar to Corona. Tonight though I'm having a taste of Greece with some Mythos that I was pleased to discover Tesco now stock along with Keo which is another of my favourites.

Just had my first San Miguel Fresca and think I may have a new favourite lager.

Club bounce truly does appear to be hell on earth.

My last glass of a very nice sauvignon blanc but I will not be too despondent as I'm just about to open a bottle of a rather nice 2009 Bordeaux.

Today's horses haven't been much better than yesterday's effort from Ginger Ted, in fact make that no better. All the studying done last night and this morning has resulted in a never challenging third and three unplaced efforts. Kind of picked up where I left off last week. Strangely I could still finish the weekend in profit if Hot Prospect can land the 4.05 at Newbury, my main bet of the day and got on 8/1 this morning.

Terrible run :angry::angry::angry: No bad luck and no fault on the jockey's part, too bad to be true but I'll be steering well clear of this one until there's some sign of a return to form. First time blinkers clearly didn't help.

I think Ginger Ted in the 7.45 at Hamilton is a cracking bet tonight. I'm on for £25 e/w at 13/2. It's a course and distance winner and the jockey booking suggests they are having a serious tilt at this race tonight. One from one at course and distance, two from five for today's jockey and this race looks like the reason he's at the meeting. Also this horse has some decent form in the book and was a bit unlucky in his last race.
