  1. That was a good while back. Maybe worth asking again. The problem would be new members skewing the vote. How can you make sure it's genuine Albion fans who vote.
  2. I've learnt more about the Club from this thread than you can imagine. Rhliston comes across as someone who deeply cares about his club as does Flybhoy in the earlier thread. A Club whose Directors pay lip service to its owners needs its wings clipped. There can be no argument about that. Club Directors who do not believe in fan ownership should be nowhere near the Club IMO. It begs the question, why are they even there? Is it every director or just a vocal few? Maybe the fans would be happy selling the Club, has anyone asked? Is there anyone out there willing to take over? That is the key point needing answered. Rhliston is frustrated with his Club and wants answers.
  3. What rhliston has done is to highlight a problem that many of us were unaware of. The more you read up about it, the worse it becomes. The motion is to remove 2 directors, not the entire Board. Mr Crowley another club director, says the whole board will walk. Is he serious. Would he jeaprdise the club risking points being deducted and our club finishing bottom because they can't fulfil fixtures. Mr Crowley can surely step in as the chairman, get round the table with the Trust and thrash this out. Many on here say its past that stage, I hope not. Maybe something is happening in the background, maybe not but in the meantime our Club is the laughing stock of Scottish Football, apart from privately run Edinburgh City. Board room decisions could cost them a play off spot
  4. Do you know for a fact that the chairman and his fellow directors are against fan ownership. If they are, its to their advantage to have all this nonsense going on in the background. They can turn round and say the lack of success is down to an unreasonable Trust holding them back. I still say, get round the table. If not its not going to end well. It should never be about any individual, it should be about the Club.
  5. I had to look for this statement for the junior academy. First of all well done. 50 coaches is quite some doing. The problem BB Bino is 50 people joining just to interfere with the way the Club is run is vote rigging. Maybe well intention but vote rigging it is. It's maybe too late but is there any high profile person can sit in a room with them and bang some heads together.
  6. I'm trying to understand what is happening here. The Trust own the Club and has appointed a Board of Directors to carry out the day to day running of the Club. Nothing to see here, all perfectly normal so far. The Board of Directors apparently have put up 2 fingers to the owners and are running the Club to suit themselves. Yes, no? The owners have tried and failed to engage with the Club Board in an attempt to get governance and accountability into the organisation. Yes, no? The Club are in a good place financially but has failed on the park. Looking at the stats, 2 relegations and one promotion since 2010. I remember when it was the yo-yo club. Now its just a yo club. Bad joke but best I can manage. A trust member, unhappy with the performances on the park wants changes at Board room level and has directed his attention towards the chairman. So far so good. Yes, no? The Club are not happy so enlist 70 non Albion fans to become members of the Trust and so rig the vote. Another Director then goes online to say, if the chairman is removed, the whole board will walk. Blackmail or what? What the hell is going on? Nobody is a winner here if the vote is being manipulated. Everyone is going to claim victory when in fact everyone loses. Mr Liston, can I suggest you withdraw your motion, tell both boards to get round the table and get it sorted. Give them 6 weeks, if not, bring it back.
  7. Elgin City are going to sign a Director of Football, they have just appointed a general manager. They have ambition. Times have changed. Football has changed. All I see at Stirling Albion is the same people doing the same things.
  8. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. The Club keeps on appointing rookie managers and expects miracles. Yet another season slips by with no hope of promotion. We get told its fan ownership that is the problem. Annan are fan owned and are heading for the play offs. That argument falls. Its the size of the crowd to blame. Well Alloa can't attract crowds half that of Stirling yet have spent the past 5 years in the divisions above. Thats because they have an ambitious Board. Montrose has smaller home crowds, look where they are. That argument fails. Can I ask that the mininmum the Club do is get at least one footballing person on the Board of Directors. Well meaning fans who think they know about the game is not the answer.
  9. Who next? I was very impressed with Tranent. Calum Elliot I thought had them playing good attacking football. Lets not pussy foot around with interviews, decide who you want and go after him or her. Lets think differently this time
  10. I wasnt at the game so cant comment on the play. I want my team to win every game but recognise its never going to happen. A couple of defeats is neither here or there, its the general inability to compete at this level. I recall being told the ambition of the Club was to be the best part time team in Scottish Football but IMO the Club has not progressed one bit in the past 5 years or more. Is it because the fans own the Club thats holding us back?. No. The direction of football is fan ownership, look at Hearts, St Mirren and Motherwell. Clyde are fan owned and I know they have bigger overheads than the Albion. Yes they are struggling but they have ambition. The Binos should be at least 1st Division, so whats holding us back? I dont have the answers and Im not close enough to know. Answers on a postcard as they say.
  11. Well, I sat through the entire 90 minutes and really worry that this side is going backwards and will yet again miss the play offs. What little hope of coming first dissapeared at 4.45pm. Stennie deserved their 3 goal lead, they completely outclassed the home side. Why oh why do we always start with one up front. Hitting high hopeful ball and when that doesn't work, bring on small strikers and continue to play high hopeful balls. I really despair and if the results continue to go this way promotion is not going to happen.
  12. Very interesting that you think a Meet the Board/Manager meeting makes everything all right. This is a typical management ploy. When in a hole you can either keep digging or you confront the issue. You set up a meeting, you set the agenda, you know the difficult questions that are coming your way. You pack the audience with your supporters. Objectors are made to look foolish. That gets you off the hook, you have consulted and then you move on, nothing to see here. I dont get to many games but I have managed 2 this year and saw good things. I did watch them on the streaming channel last year and would agree that McLean is a sore loss but who builds a team around an injury prone defender. Surely you have someone in reserve as cover, is Banner not good enough? I see he was on the bench on Saturday. If he hasnt spent his budget and he dosent see Banner as the solution, then he needs to get cover in and fast. Its far too early in the season to be calling for the manager to resign. Just think of the pressure he will be underand and i beleive it showed in the post match intercview, blaming the players is not helpful. The Board decided to extend the managers contract towards the end of last season so it would be a poor show if they sacked him this early in the season. Should they have extended his contract? Thats another story.
  13. I have to say Kelty must have thought Christmas had come early. Against Cove the Albion played a high line. It worked. They did the same for the rest of the League Cup ties, it worked. Fans were enjoying the style of football on show. They never allowed Stennie to get into gear last week and all looked good. Why then against Kelty did the manager set up the team to play so deep. Could be the players were forced back because they were up against a superior team but I don't think so. Hearts are top of the Premier league yet we made them look ordinary at times because of the pressing game we were playing. Lets face facts, the manager got his tactics wrong, allowing Kelty to stroll through the game. His team selection didn't help. Bikey is not a target man, Carrick is wasted playing wide. An earlier poster spotted what was obvious to everyone in the ground. Swap them over and use Bikeys skill and pace to create chances. Hopefully lessons will be learned.
  14. I admire your optimism KING CROWNEST but the way we were playing in March, 9th place was more likely than 4th. It actually suits the Club to finish the season early so no doubt that is why they voted yes. The club were going backwards, an embarrassing 7-1 defeat at home, crowds lower than I can remember and now the assistant manager has walked. This is a chance to regroup and start again but please this time get a football person on the Board of management, its what’s been missing for over a decade. Being good at hospitality is one thing, but it doesn’t win football games. Whatever the outcome to these talks Cove deserve to go up.
  15. Dont want to rain on your parade. Surely its the first team that Rangers first beat on the way to the final that should get the cup. By my reckoning the cup goes to ......... Queen of the South!
  16. I've had a soft spot for Dunfermline since the 60s when I got to meet some of the cup winning team of 68 and got their autographs.. But you guys currently have a big team mentality that does you a dis-service. Decent crowds doesn't buy success, look at Stranraer as a good example of this, small crowds but a winning team, built on a solid foundation. But two years from now Stranraer will be struggling, just like any other team in the the lower divisions. It's the nature of the beast. You have relative success, then it's downhill for a couple of seasons. You regroup and start again. Dunfermline are an ordinary side, as are the other full time teams in this Division. I saw nothing on Saturday that makes me think promotion is a real prospect. So accept it, regroup and start again.
  17. Wouldn't that be something, consulting the fans!!! A nice thought. I meant it to say, and I'm sure you know it anyway; if I were a director of an SPFL club and had the chance, I'd be looking for benefits for my Club. No change to the voting structure, no redistribution of sponsor money, no deal on league reorganisation.
  18. League Reconstruction might be needed for Hibs as well. Im all for 16 in top league but would only accept it if the voting structure and distribution of funding was altered. 16, 16, 10 would be my choice. Accept there is lower number of games but adjustments to play offs could compensate. Would also assist teams in Europe.
  19. Falkirk play nice football but soooo innefective. Get your midfield to stop playing pretty patterns and be more direct.
