  1. No point Accies doing well with weakened teams against the Old Firm in recent weeks if we can't get results in our three upcoming home games against St.Mirren,St.Johnstone and Hearts who will fight and scrap for every point.
  2. Thing is plenty of us watched our club for Seven years with no ground and most rarely missed a game. I've missed more away games the last two years than during the "terrible nineties" and it is due to football being grossly overpriced nowadays.Plenty others, are the same.
  3. Can imagine plenty of squad players playing here with both sides having their eyes on the weekend games to come. I would perhaps keep the same defence although not sure if Brian Easton can play three games in a week which would entail Fjortoft or young Jamie Hamilton playing. Changes in midfield:Collar,Scott Martin and perhaps Cunningham for Lewis Smith or Mikel Miller while Ogympoe may get another 60+ minutes to try to regain fitness. At £30 a ticket, will be giving this a miss.
  4. Watched the highlights there and looked a case of two penalties:one given correctly for Hibs and one wrongly not given for St.Mirren for the shove. I expect Hibs to push Aberdeen for third place while St.Mirren are like the rest of us- a work in progress with their front line in particular letting them down.
  5. Lot more confident than I was a month ago as Rice seems to have realised the likes of Fon Williams / Hughes etc are not up to it and with players coming back we should get there eventually. The change in style to a more attacking formation is the reason for my optimism as Miller and Smith can nick goals out of nowhere(despite a sitter yesterday) and Big Steve Davies does a great job leading the line. Now,if only we could cut out the red cards,we would make it a whole lot easier.
  6. Proud of my injury and suspension hit team. All we can ask is give the Old Firm a game and attack when possible and we did that.I feel our second half display deserved a point. Ogympoe was obviously unfit and the gamble playing him failed unlike playing Easton and McGowan who have been missing for a period. That bit of class the Old Firm have was illustrated with the second and third goals which the rest of us lack when you look at our decision making at times in the final third. We have been decent last three games but with only two points to show for it but get the rest of our players back and I feel we have nothing to fear from any other bottom six side.
  7. Don't know either and I started the thread. Guy I know who had a Season Book up till this Season enquired about Hospitality for himself and his Mrs for Sunday and was quoted £310. Not sure if he gets a game in midfield for that lol.
  8. Not an ideal time to be playing a full strength Rangers with what looks like six first picks missing:McGowan,Easton,Stubbs,Alston,Ogympoe and Scott Martin never mind the returning Will Collar being sent off in a reserve game last week after two bookings in a minute. No one has a clue what team will play:will Fjortoft start in defence or Gogic and will he play McKinnon,Hunt and a.n.other in central midfield considering both have played less than two 90 minutes games in five months. However, football is a funny old game as old time Accies aficionado Mr Jimmy Greaves Esquire used to say on his wonderful 80's TV show. Hopefully,a change in goals as "Careless Hands" needs dropped for costing us the win at Killie.Time for Southwood to get a chance although watching the reserves I don't have any great confidence in our plethora of average Keepers.
  9. Since Accies currently have half a dozen guys who can play left back(McMann,Easton,Hunt are the main three),it makes sense for all parties for him to help you guys into the Championship by staying till the end of the season. Any time I watched him in our all conquering youth side/under 20's and reserves he was a stand out so no surprise he is doing so well. Our problem is we have only one right back which shows the lopsided nature of Rice's recruitment and if he could play there he would be getting recalled as currently six first picks out injured/suspended.
  10. If Livvy, the Highland clubs and others can get there I am sure we will...one day. Need to take Cup ties seriously though which is something we haven't done for 20+years.
  11. One good season and they are now worldbeaters...but not in Wales it seems.
  12. How are the two young Accies players playing folks? Cheers for the replies.
  13. I thought Accies second half performance was our best for eons and as usual not getting a clincher cost us as Ross County were always going to pile on the pressure at 2-1. Another game with no natural right back and a dreadful Keeping error cost us.
  14. This game is already a Must Win as if Ross County go eight points in front,we will never catch them even at this early stage. Thus,a big incentive for the Staggies although I don't recall us losing three in a row under Rice and expect a battling performance -unlike last Saturday. Rice probably had one eye on this game judging by his team selection on Wednesday and there will be a few changes as is always the case.
  15. Relegation would be much worse. We have to hang in there until January and get bodies in who can play midfield and one for right back. No excuses for having no back up right back and the midfield or lack of it which helped to bring down Canning-will be the downfall of Rice as he is making the same mistakes and playing powderpuff players who can't dominate any form of possession ensuring we are creating very little and putting pressure on the back line. That game should have been an easy 3 or 4 goal away win and our only hope was a half chance once Davies came on it a free kick. There are ways of losing games and that wasn't it.Poorest Aberdeen away support I have seen here although that is understandable due to Sunday and the fans attitude towards McInnes. Not that long ago they brought more on a Wednesday night than a Saturday here and they always used to bring good numbers midweek,so their fan base must be right pissed off. Must win on Saturday if only to delay the inevitable for a few more weeks.Rice talks the talk and says all the right things but then does the opposite in games.
  16. There are three certainties in life:death, taxes and Accies losing in Perth. Decided to take the dog to Linn Park,Glasgow instead of the game (mostly due to being skint at the minute) as I knew what was coming having witnessed many demoralizing defeats in Perth over the last 42 years-deserved or undeserved. Never checked any scores/internet as wanted to do a "Likely Lads" and watch the game on Alba unaware of events when I arrived back shortly before six.Sadly,no surprise as the midfield is -like under Canning-the worst in the League by a country mile and lets the rest of the team down. Some bizarre subs by Rice:bringing on a past it McKinnon and Moyo a guy who makes Bingham look prolific. After looking like sneaking an undeserved point,it was no surprise to see ball watching for the winning goal. A lot of anger on Accies forums but I take a more philosophical view as we always lose in Perth and it will be typical Accies to win versus Aberdeen on Wednesday night. The way we were bossed about in midfield was more concerning than the inevitable defeat and there better be a backlash as to meekly surrender bringing the bottom sides back into it is typical Accies.
  17. Derek Adams and his Dad trying to sit inconspicuous in the Accies end...the vultures are indeed circling it seems.
  18. Nothing to worry about as you are our eternal bogey team since the late 1970's,so expect your first home win.
  19. Accies to do what we usually do and give a team/player in need of a boost a lift or a goal...cue Doidge then us to equalise for another 1-1 which seems to be the Hibs scoreline of choice these days.
  20. Football players in doing the opposition team talk for them shocker. When will they ever learn?
  21. As soon as I saw that team I knew what was coming and Canning has been slated for less for that. A game where you need an outlet from the constant pressure so what does Rice do...only plays the one striker we have who can't hold the ball up and this Steve Davies stuff perhaps could have some truth in it as why would you have a guy doing the media build up for the game and then have him nowhere near the pitch? I would rather do what Livvy did at I Ibrox a few weeks ago and have a go as you are going to get beat anyway and the Rangers central defence don't like it up them as Dykes has proved,so at least give them something they have to work for. That game was lost as soon as Livvy beat Celtic and it is the manner of the defeat which is a disgrace allowing a glorified training session which wouldn't have happened under Alex Neil who would have made them fight for the three points rather than that pathetic surrender.
  22. Scott McMann is an easy target for too many of our fans who see him as a scapegoat while others get off "scott free".
  23. £29 a ticket,£22 concessions =Hesgoals.com which is a shame as after our recent run I and many others fancied going but not at those rip off prices.
  24. After a couple of decent results for Accies, was tempted to go to Ibrox until I saw the prices for next weekend,so Hesgoals.com it will be for most- unless they buy the reduced price tickets which are also a rip off. One of my neighbours-Celtic Season Book holder of many years- was telling me Saturday cost him £32.This madness must stop and it doesn't help when idiots on Social Media lambast small away supports from whatever team without looking at WHY many fans refuse to pay those prices and don't travel. A boycott by Old Firm away fans sadly for them won't work as there are too many idiots who would jump in and pay the prices. Perhaps if this campaign fails it may be time in the future to think of more extreme measures but that is a conversation for way in the future.
