  1. Survation poll in tomorrow's Mail on Sunday. Yes 40%(-1) No 46% (0)

Meanwhile, Salmond gets an England flag waved behind him at the Commonwealth Games a la Wimbledon and Rangers take a banner to Derby County which read "Four Countries - One Flag - Our United Kingdom". I couldn't have said it better myself.

Not a good day for the Scottish Separatists. :)

  2. Well from my experiences they do. They are the angry ones enraged by the Separatists and Alex Salmond.....???

Course they shout just as loudly.

    No, they don't.

To suggest the content are as loud as the disgruntled is ludicrous. But you're entitled to your opinion.

    I'm NOT a Loyalist.

    No one said you were.

Then again, you seem incredibly loyal to the Nationalist cause. One of the more right wing Nationalists on here for sure.

  3. ThePundit, why should I vote no?

Because you're a Loyalist, and you should be loyal to the United Kingdom. :)

But put simply, because a No vote is what's best for Scotland.

The people that shout the loudest are the most listened to.

    Opinion. :P

Agreed. But if people think it's nonsense they will disagree, making the argument irrelevant. Creationists for example have very loud voices. :)

  4. England is what 5 times bigger than Wales/NI/Scotland combined? The UK may aswell just be England for what little influence the other 3 have on anything.

So you won't be wanting Scotland to be part of the European Union then? due to the almost irrelevant influence it would have.

  5. Great so we are comparing Scotland to tiny tiny islands here? What about a country of similar size, any of them non independent?

There's a country far larger than Scotland which isn't an independent nation.

I'll give you clue. You would say it's full of foreigners and I wouldn't. :)

  6. Really not worth the blood pressure man.

Translation - "Please keep your far right nationalist opinions to yourself!. You're embarrassing the more moderate Yes supporters and diluting the argument for independence whilst deterring people who have yet to decide". :)

  7. When you where living in England, did you say you were British or English?

Just wonder if you feel more British when living or even just working in another part of the UK.

I have never lived or spent any time working outside of Scotland and I dont get that British feeling.

I'm both, but living in different parts of the UK does make you appreciate the countries are effectively the same.

I have spent most of my life living in Scotland so "British" is actually a more accurate description for me than "English" now I suppose. Just depends who asks the question. If someone from the UK asks I'll say I'm English but if someone from outside the UK asked I'd simplify it to "British". Either or, they are both correct at the end of the day. :)

  8. I think the Arbroath supporting Separatist is having an absolute shocker today. He echoes the opinions of the worst type of Nationalist.

I'm English, as you all know, based in Scotland and consider myself British from a nation within a nation (the United Kingdom). Of course, that is unacceptable to Lichtie. I'm just an English foreigner to him.

Well done to the more moderate Yes supporters who disagreed with him.

  9. Peace and harmony at the food banks?

Labour have always been generous in terms of benefits, more than generous in my opinion, so yes, those less fortunate financially will be more content.

Okay, it won't quite be the Utopian Scotland that Salmond promises where everyone is financially well off but does anyone actually believe that anyway?... Really?... :)

I know you subscribe to the 'more jobs' and 'better pay' theory but the reality would be less jobs, less investment leading to yes, you guessed it, worse pay. And with an unstable currency, it's not a good combination!

But as long as Scotland gets independence that all that matters to you isn't it?..... And you'll make shit up as you go along to boost your argument.

  10. What's tactical about voting for a useless cnut as First Minister, are you tactically trying to fcuk Scotland up?

In Scotland there's two realistic choices.

I will never, ever, ever vote for the Scottish National Party so I suppose I'll lend my vote to Labour. Hopefully they'll bring back peace and harmony amongst a public divided by the Scottish National Party for their own benefit. :)

  11. They'd be untenable in Scotland after a yes vote. How could they ever rule again after opposing independence?

They could (and will) rule again but it would take a while if Scotland votes Yes.

When Scotland votes No, the Scottish National Party will lose a lot of support and people will drift back to Labour. It's already sort of happening now. I'll reluctantly be tactically voting for Labour in the next Scottish election, probably.

  12. If the British Nationalists win the referendum I'm going to love the levels of seethe which will emanate from them when the SNP win the next Holyrood elections.

    Labour have the momentum.

As for "the levels of seethe" from the "British Nationalists".... I think you'll be disappointed either way. Everyone will still be delighted from the No victory in the referendum. You won't be, but Unionists will. :)

  13. Forgive my ignorance, who is Rangers no.1? Hearts are shaping up nicely from my point of view, still a striker short but hopefully sow signs.

You think ally will play three at the back? Rangers will be too strong over a season I think but I fancy us to push you a little more than you've been used too.

Cammy Bell is currently the goalkeeper at the moment. Solid enough, nothing spectacular.

I think Ally will actually play 5 at the back with 1 defensive midfielder, three midfielders and 1 centre forward. I don't think fans will be happy with that formation, especially given the abundance of centre forwards at the club.

I agree Hearts are shaping up very well indeed so far this season. The signings of Buaben, Alexander and Gomis is a real statement of intent. Add Danny Wilson to that and it's a strong spine. But yeah, they are lacking in terms of goalscorers.

It's the makings of a team who could realistically challenge for the Championship. I reckon Rangers will limp across the finishing line but I expect it's going to be close.

  14. Best of luck to Gallagher. He was all set to be Rangers' backup goalkeeper this season until the club, somewhat surprisingly, re-signed Simonsen.

He's 25 and has only played about 50 matches in his career. He need's first team games. That said, I doubt he'll play at Hearts either given they have Neil Alexander.

Hearts are building a stronger side than I expected. Bit of a concern! :)

  15. The Tories certainly won't be "clawing their way back" from 4th in the popular vote and 1 seat and certainly nothing in Scotland is going to "depend on UKIP"

The Conservative vote has been increasing in Scotland and whilst I agree they have no hope of victory in the next election, I bet they get yet another increase as UKIP brought a lot of non-voters to the table for the European elections. A lot of those voters will then tactically vote Conservative. (followed by Labour as a UKIP voter will likely back a Unionist party).

  16. One of the most interesting aspects of an iScotland would be seeing what Scottish Labour, Lib Dems and the Conservatives did with the freedom to come up with their own policies. The fact they currently seem so repulsed by the idea speaks volumes of their lack of aspiration for the country.

Not true. They simply believe that, whilst Scotland is perfectly capable of being independent, the country would be better off as part of the United Kingdom. :)

  17. I get the impression that in you somewhere, you know that a YES vote will be better for Scotland in the long run

Not at all. I believe in teamwork. The UK creates a more stable environment. Preventing the closure of the Grangemouth plant and dealing with the banking crisis are two excellent recent examples of how the UK is stronger together. :)

  18. I'm confident myself and H_B will be on regardless of the outcome, the rest will probably be result dependent.

I'll be on regardless as well. I obviously hope No will win but if its a Yes I will congratulate them and take part in discussion in regards to how the nation can work together to alleviate tensions and move forward. The division in Scotland right now is the worst I've ever known, and that's saying something coming from a Rangers who has lived in the Glasgow goldfish bowl since 92. :)

If it's a No I will boast for a few days in a really elitist, arrogant, irritating manner then I'll be back to my good self. :)
