  1. Smackdown wasn't very good this week. (The last few Raw's have suffered also with the lack of Lesnar and CM Punk)

Why has Emma been called up to the main roster instead of Paige? That segment with Emma/Santino and Summer/Fandango was a complete waste. Surely a wrestling match between Paige and Summer would have been a better choice? Ridiculous.

  2. I'd be surprised if it was any more clear cut than 53-47.

I'd expect a No of around 60%-65% when its all said and done.

What on earth would Rangers fans do if we got independence and there were no union jacks to wave around?

They are Union Flags, and why would there be none to wave around? Are the SNP going to burn them?.....

Anyhoo, I note tomorrows Daily Mail is claiming Lloyds TSB is moving from Edinburgh to England due to uncertainty in the independence campaign. No surprise. Well, the only surprise is that they think the Yes could win. Still, not good for jobs in Scotland.

  3. I quoted the point that I disagreed with. I don't expect to have to respond to points I don't disagree with.

However, you have completely failed to show any link between "people on government benefits" and "people who want change". Without this link, I fail to see what point you are trying to make.

You may have quoted the point you disagreed with but the answer to your question was in the second point I provided. :)

Also, why are you trying to find a link between two separate points I made? There doesn't have to be one. It was two different reasons.

  4. I see that thepundit is now confusing voting in an online poll (taking a couple of seconds to do) with making thousands of posts due to having time on your hands.

I don't see the link. Far more people have voted in the P'n'B poll that make contributions to the Indy debate.

Why did you only quote one of the reasons I gave?

The other reason was.... "People who want change are more likely to talk about independence than those who are content with the Union, which of course would mean using things such as forums to voice their anger"

It makes perfect sense but you are well within your rights to disagree.

  5. That's the crux of it, we'll just have to wait and see if Salmond can pull it off, a single digit swing is not insurmountable in an independence referendum.

The answers were supposed to be in the White Paper. I'm not sure what else the Salmond can do to convince people.

Were you disappointed/uninspired by the reaction to the White Paper?

  6. I will be shocked if Salmond has nothing better nearer the time, whether you like him or not he certainly isn't a dafty on matters like this, there's actually loads about the status quo that can get hammered, it's when and how to do it that'll probably decide the referendum, being able to point out negatives in a positive manner is an art, I'm hoping YES have the guile to do it.

If its true that support for independence is only at 27% then I'd agree that will improve. I reckon a 65/35 victory. Its fair enough pointing negatives out but with no viable solution how can it help the Yes cause?

  7. That's actually a major positive for YES, contentment does create excitement and it's excitement that could cause a major swing.

Absolutely. The rise of Ukip proves that but the debate has to include factual/definite solutions to current discontent, otherwise is doesn't get very far.

People don't like a gamble, a leap of faith or whatever when question marks remain over financial security. Some can call it "fear" if they want but its a very understandable apprehension to have. Salmond wants people to vote with their heart but with so much on the line they'll still vote with their head.

  8. That's just your opinion, I witnessed a movement in the debate on QT, I think this will just nudge it a bit further, I certainly didn't think Goldie came across badly on QT and she's a Tory and Tories usually get hammered in Scotland.

The Question Time debate the other day was a victory for the No campaign. The Unionists got their points across well but really didn't have to say much as David was delegating the questions to Reader who does the Yes campaign No favours whatsoever. You could sense Sturgeon and Harvie cringing with every answer she gave, lol.

  9. Hark at thepundit asking questions when his sole contribution to this thread is to dodge, dive, duck, and deflect.

But because I'm better than you, to answer your question, we did have polling showing over 40%, so target achieved. :)

What poll would that be? the pie and bovril poll? :)

It's strange because on here as we know the majority of people are in the yes camp. However whenever I have spoke to people in the 'real world' it's been about 70% in favour of no.

I do support the case for independence and appreciate that proper campaigning has yet to start however if a vote was done tomorrow then it wouldn't be close. Unionists would win by 60-70% I reckon.

This forum is very one sided and unrepresentative

I'm not sure why forum polls usually lean towards a Yes vote but I do have a theory as to why...

The Yes vote seems to be very popular with people who rely on state benefits and a lot (not all) of people who spend their day posting on forums are more likely to be receiving government benefits. That, and people who want change are more likely to talk about independence than those who are content with the Union, which of course would mean using things such as forums to voice their anger.

Just a theory. I may be wrong.

  10. We're moving on nicely, and the best barometers are our Unionists on here. They gave up engaging in any discussion months ago (believe it or not, once upon a time, Reynard, Ad Lib, and HB would actually make serious points with some give and take), and have nothing left but sirens of fear. Notice they way they have to pretend that so much stuff simply never happened. They can see the way the wind has been blowing for months now, and they are scared.

Well, if Unionists have nothing left to argue why is the Yes campaign failing and not at the "40% by December" you predicted it would be?

  11. And they really built it up beforehand only to let off the dampest squib ever.

I predicted it wasn't going to match up to the hype. As Salmond answered/dodged every question for weeks with "the answers will be in the white paper" it was almost inevitable it would be a disappointment because most of us know an independent Scotland is nothing more than a leap of faith. The mainstream media really tore it apart also and ironically it was probably No's strongest week since the campaign began.

  12. Big E vs Orton was very good too, weird choice. Whether the votes are rigged or not, I wouldn't have thought they'd choose Big E for that match.

I've always thought the polls on the WWE App were legit but when Langston can get 75% of the vote and Ziggler and the Miz shared the other 25% it does make you wonder if it was rigged. You'd expect Ziggler to win that comfortably and maybe even the Miz to finish second.

  13. I read that as well. Not surprised as the Bryan/Orton angle has been awful.

ps, Yeah, seems like Rybacks push is over if they are putting him in a match against Khali.

And yet, Dolph Ziggler can't even get a match unless he's jobbing for someone.

    Farce.

  14. I reckon it should be lagalised. Its kinda daft that people can drink themselves stupid and cause hassle every weekend for public services yet the quiet guy rolling a joint is the one who gets thrown into a jail cell.

The only politician I've heard argue this point is Nigel Farage.
