It seems as though teams are just setting up to prevent Rangers from scoring and not really having a go, hence Rangers’ best defensive start to a season since 1929. They haven’t really had to work hard at all to eclipse that record. Teams are parking the bus against Celtic as well.
Thought Rangers were a lot more direct when going forward. A lot of long balls with not much end product. It’s going to take a few games to adapt to that sort of style by the looks of it as it was fairly fruitless.
Fair play to Hibs for getting a late win today to keep their challenge going. They play Aberdeen, Rangers and Celtic in their next 4 games so they’ll be doing well if they are still there or thereabouts after that run of games.

there is zero chance of it ever happening unless the whole national league format caves in all across Europe.
Rangers missed their chance when they applied for Scottish 3rd Division back in 2012
Would have been a non starter anyway as the entry level leagues down south are regionalised.
Would have been quite happy seeing them working their way up through those divisions rather than spending 4 seasons working our way up to a division that we’ve been trying to escape up here.

From a Rangers perspective I’m not sure how they would do as they would have a completely different squad of players obviously on a higher salary and match day attendances don’t really matter as much once teams get to the Premiership. I don’t buy into the argument that they’d be guaranteed to be competing at the top just because of the size of the club.
With the players they have now they are probs around upper-Championship to lower-Premiership level.

Difficult start to the game but as soon as the first goal went in it was like a pre-season friendly.
Good to see David Tanner getting a gig as host on Rangers TV. Tyldesley was superb again and I’m enjoying the sea of Union Flags behind the goals. Delighted to be top of the league and hopefully we can keep putting victories on the board before Celtic’s next game to really pile on the pressure.

True.
Hopefully Hibs can stay there or thereabouts for a while. We’re entitled to win this league though We deserve it.

You failed to mention that daft wee drew is STILL posting on a Rangers thread.
He must not have known his own team were playing (and dropping points in the process)
I read last week that Celtic’s team against Hamilton were the exact same players who were there last season. Maybe a lack of new signings is hindering their 10iar push?...

The full time whistle goes at Rugby Park and it’s advantage Rangers!....
Superscoreboard will be absolutely glorious this week.

Ah well, the Euro dream is over (for about a month?..)
I was worried Rangers would lose by 3 or 4 yesterday (as they were already as good as out) which could have had a negative psychological impact on our league season so in that respect it wasn’t too bad.
Looks like that may have been Alfredo’s last game for us so I wish him well wherever he goes. His spell ended with a bit of a whimper though eh? They were saying on Superscoreboard the other day that Roofe is the highest paid player in Scotland so I doubt Rangers would sanction a transfer for £4m-£5m plus that kind of salary if a deal for Morelos wasn’t already agreed. (Especially given Rangers only play one up top and they’ve now got 5 forwards)

If I were lille and watched rangers put that outlay yesterday, I would think that they must be keen to sell Morelos.
Ball would defo be in their court and they would have the upper hand in any negotiation. There’s now reports West Brom, Sassuolo and Sevilla are interested so Lille may not be the only bidder.
That said, I doubt Rangers would have signed those two players yesterday if a deal for Morelos wasn’t already agreed.
Might be waiting until after the Europa League game to announce it.

Is Rangers tv open to one game a one game charge during this pandemic ?
Yes. £9.99 per game I believe.
I think there’s other clubs charging nearly £20.

Fair play to Rangers for getting Clive Tyldesley to do the match commentary. Tom Miller will still be doing some of the games which won’t go down well with some sections of the support. He does a good job as well though I suppose, albeit has become a bit stale after doing it for so long.

Blessing in disguise, IMO.
Player who could have went for £2.7m a few weeks back, now out for 4 months = Blessing in disguise?

Great player I have seen him live twice. Will fit in to the Scottish game and score goals for fun (sadly).
Where would you rate him compared to our previous Croat forwards? (Pršo and Jelavic)
If he can do as well as either of those two Rangers will be onto a winner. (If he does indeed sign)

Maric and Zungu set to sign in the coming days apparently. Combined fee around £5m

Not saying Taylor would be getting that at Ibrox, but he is good friends with Joe Aribo.I think Taylor has ruined any chance of a move by refusing to play for Charlton. I doubt Gerrard would have been too impressed with that, even if it was to ensure he was fully fit for a potential move to Rangers.

Apparently Lille offered £13m plus add-ons according to The Athletic which Rangers rejected.

I hope not, we struggled last season with him upfront. Could we see Kamberi signing soon?
Could well be. I don’t really rate him any better than Greg Stewart, to be fair.
Rangers might make a move to sign Toney now. I’ve never seen him play so no idea if he’d be a good signing but it’s been heavily reported Rangers would table a bid if Morelos went.
Edit: Hopefully Rangers have negotiated themselves a sell on %

Will miss Alfredo when he goes but the plan was always for him to do well and be sold on at a hefty profit.
Best heel in Scottish footy and a loss to us all in terms of entertainment value.Greg Stewart to lead the line against the Dons?
If memory serves, he had his best game against them last season and netted a double.

If there was any doubt, it might have been prudent to find out, to avoid any ambiguity. Can't see how test results wouldn't have been required, it's exactly the same situation, but just occurring at two different locations.
Fair point. Will need to wait and see what their reasoning was.

You're going on as if the virus doesn't discriminate between the career trajectories of its respective victims.
My point had nothing to do with who played in either game. I thought it was clear but I have edited the post for the avoidance of any doubt.
What I was referring to was how these games are registered with the powers that be and the possibility that Rangers maybe assumed (correctly or incorrectly) that test results weren’t required for the game at Murray Park.0
