Not posted on here for a while but to add my tuppence worth. I think Allan Johnston can consider himself lucky that last season was curtailed. Had it been allowed to run to its natural conclusion there is no doubt in my mind he would been relieved of his duties, following a below par performance in the role. At present I see very little reasoning for keeping him other than the obvious financial aspect. On the flip side however, we have the obvious question of who would we bring in to replace him? I am sure there would be no shortage of applicants, we are dependent on the Board however to make the right choice. Recent seasons would suggest that poor choices have been made. In conclusion I can only see a long (albeit shortened) season of struggle ahead. We are poor in defence and midfield. Big improvement needed.

Not posted on here for a good while, but I will try to answer your question. In short I don't see us surviving right now. I was one of the 40 or so who made the trip to Inverness on Tuesday night. It is a long time since I have seen such a disinterested and disorganised gang on a football pitch. I'm not normally one to call for a managers head, but at this time I can't see any improvement under his stewardship, or any sign that we are working to eradicate the basic mistakes he always refers to. More worryingly is the intransigence displayed throughout his interviews. Always the players fault, he never accepts responsibility for wrong selections or tactics. The disinterested approach we are witnessing on the pitch stems from off it. I don't expect the manager to jump up and down like a mad thing, but surely it is reasonable to expect him to take his hands out of his pockets and look like he is interested now and again? After Tuesday night I am resigning myself to League One for next season. A league where we will not get it all our own way this time around. Like you I expect him to still be in charge for the League One campaign, as I don't fancy this board to take the sensible course of action and relieve him from his duties.

West Sound basically said that he had said his job was to keep us away from the danger zone. Think the substance of the statement has been sensationalised for effect.

Agree entirely. For my part, I know that if given the choice I will choose to stand every time. I'm pretty sure that we could offer this opportunity at not much additional cost to the club. Given the choice it is likely that more will choose to stand than to sit. How football is meant to be watched!

It's my understanding that blades are a no no on these surfaces. Sure you can get away with plastic screw in studs, don't have to be mouldies.

Not the best draw we could have got. Would have been nice to have been drawn against someone outwith our division, but it is a home tie, and perfectly winnable.

Some of Antell's knockers on here could benefit from a crash course in the art of goalkeeping. He has not been brilliant but he has not been anywhere near as bad as he is made out to be. Apart from a howler against Cowdenbeath, and the 2nd against Falkirk he has done little wrong. Every keeper has made mistakes (I made plenty myself), however too many people seem to be picking fault with Antell for every goal conceded.

Don't begrudge any of the players a few beers. After a display like that I would do the same. Given the nature of the performances at the moment though I think they would have been wiser to stay out of the town centre or Dumfries altogether.

Remember that night, it was painful viewing on Sportscene. There were a lot of really bad results in that era. Thinking back to then makes things all the sweeter now.

It will all come full circle. Fast forward 5 years and we'll be ripping it up to be replaced with - grass. There is no debate, the old grass pitch was fine. Ask any player (as I have), if their being honest they will tell you they hate plastic. It is no way to play football.

And the good old grass surface looked far better. Sorry but I'm a traditionalist and am still not convinced by these artificial surfaces. Grass and grass only for me.

I've nothing at all against Rab Douglas, he has been a very accomplished keeper but at 41 yrs old his playing career is closing out. He would be great to have around the place in a coaching capacity as I have always argued that you need a goalkeeper coach. Specialist position requires specialist coaching. In a playing sense though we should be looking at someone younger. Grant Adam does not convince me. He is young, and I'm sure he will do well through time. I don't think though he is the keeper for us at this time.

Willie McLaren can be summed up in one word. Frustrating! Yes he could be lazy, he was also extremely talented, and capable of producing pieces of absolute magic. The sort of magic moments where you put up with 89 minutes of dross in return for that one piece of sublime skill that wins you a game. He will know himself that he has not made anything like the best use of his abilities, and I am sure that come the end of his career he will look back with a certain amount of frustration.

I think this is a good solid signing for the upcoming 1st Division campaign. Reasonably happy with this one, it adds some depth to the sqaud. McGuffie is fine at right back but quite simply is not a central defender. It stands to reason that we will now be linked with just about everybody who has ever played under McIntyre, thats the nature of football. I don't see any major reshuffle in prospect, but will be interested to see who we bring in as goalkeeper.

My views on artificial surfaces are well enough known. No, No and No!! Under no circumstances would I be in favour of this. The pitch we have is fine. Anyone who doesn't believe this only need go and check out some of the quagmires around the leagues. I fully understand and accept the monetary issue. Yes, we could let it out during the week, if handled properly wewould benefit financially from this. These pitches are fine for training on or coaching kids but senior football should be played on one surface and one surface only. Grass! Furthermore these pitches do not guarantee your game will go ahead? Case for: Alloa Athletic V QOS 8th December 2012. Game off. If their not now all weather pitches but only partial weather pitches then lets rip the lot up and put grass back down

I agree. The number of penalties we have conceded this season has got be cause for concern. We have to get it sorted in there before it costs us!

Agreed! I am sure we can all think of other goalkeepers who have made a more significant contribution to the club, and are much more deserving of a place on the wall.

I find the assertion that Clark is playing simply beacuse his dad is the assistant manager ridiculous. I think that Clark is in the team at present on merit. If his dad's presence at the club inspires him to kick on and improve on what was an unproductive season then great. I am a believer that players play themself into a team & play themself back out. On the subject of the "yes" vote, I like some others am sick of the whole thing. It is time to put the whole mess to bed & get behind the team.

My jury is still out on these signings. I am though prepared to give them a chance, and hope that they will prove useful players.

Solid enough in central defence, strong in the tackle. Offers little going forward & not noted for his distribution qualities. Set high standards in 2010/11 but as others have said never managed to maintain this last season. This I think was more to do with being played mostly at right back. No more than adequate in this position & proved prone to some rash challenges when deployed in this area. If played in the middle he should be a good signing for you guys.
