  1. Anyone watch this last night? Story of a school teacher sent to prison for the first time. Binged the lot on iPlayer tonight, quite dark but very good to watch.
  2. First vaccine for me tomorrow, buzzing for it.
  3. Who doesn’t? These were parboiled, then drained and an oxo cube sprinkled over the top before going into the oven for 45 mins, with some rosemary added 5 mins before coming out.
  4. Was not my choice, and was an utter nightmare to line up.
  5. That sounds the absolute business! Thanks for all the suggestions, I just roasted it, but made a rub consisting of loads of garlic, thyme, rosemary and olive oil (salt and pepper too, naturally). Turned out very well.
  6. Any tips for a pork loin roast (Insert Kenneth gif). Got a bit at Costco yesterday and can’t ever think of a time I’ve cooked pork.
  7. I have started doing this to be fair. I just don’t understand how anyone could expect you to hear them when you’re 15+ feet away, a different part of the house, stood next to a washing machine and then moan and say you need your hearing checked when your response is “What?”
  8. Sure I’ve posted this before but this is the absolute worst thing about my gf. Seems to actually leave the room we’re both in before beginning a conversation. It’s genuinely infuriating.
  9. He’ll no be looking for another hawf an hour in bed with a partner where he’s going.
  10. There’s more than a few people in my work that I have previously felt are capable of this, tbh. The guy sounds like a recidivist criminal, in and out of prison all his life, so many people are like this, just what they know. I was visiting a friend in prison a couple of years ago, and afterwards I was waiting for the bus outside, just a short distance from the prison, and I spotted a guy I recognised from the visiting room. As he also recognised me we got chatting, he was visiting his brother, but was pleased as this would be the last time he was up to visit as his brother was being released a few days later. I was up three weeks later for a visit and the boy and his brother were sat two seats down from me.
  11. Yeah, I also didn’t realise he was disabled, just thought he was a typical gammon yoon.
  12. Rutherglen good guys. Was concerned with Ferriergate.
  13. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] What an absolute balloon he is.
  14. Yeah I had to get nominated by an existing Member. Not sure how it would have worked had I not known him.
  15. It’s a fun sport really. Admittedly the average age of members must be 65+, but everyone I’ve met so far have been really welcoming and friendly. Looking forward to playing in the summer, think it will be class in the sunshine.
  16. We were looking for something to binge watch on Friday night, and I mentioned Viewpoint, that had been on all week on ITV, but said we would need to be quick watching it on catch-up because of the Noel Clarke scandal. Half way through she turns to me and said “I haven’t seen any inappropriate sexual stuff in this, do you think it will be in the last episode?”. Took me a minute to realise she thought that the issue with Noel Clarke was to do with what was happening in the show, and not what he is alleged to have done in his personal life. Watched the news and weather a few weeks ago, and asked me where Glasgow was on the weather map.
  17. I joined my local bowling club this year too, great fun.
  18. Pretty decent first half, but as said by David above, it’s frightening how Dumbarton are getting through with little or no resistance. I’d settle for the most boring 45 mins of football going next, just to see us over the line and have things in our own hands come Thursday.
  19. I’ve really not missed anything at all about working in the office tbh. Maybe going for lunch with a couple of colleagues I would class as friends on a Friday, but that’s really it. There is a meeting in our place today to discuss what people would favour, I’ve said I would be happy WFH permanently, maybe going in one day each week to meet as a team, but other than that I’d prefer to stay at home. Nothing to do with COVID or fear, I just much prefer WFH on days like today where I can finish at 4, walk out the back garden and sit in the sun. Same goes for winter days, no more travelling in the pitch black, sitting all day in the office when it’s light and travelling home when it’s dark. Those days are gone for me as far as I’m concerned.
  20. My employer announced a number of redundancies in the last few weeks, along with a number of positions changing and new ones being created. In the last week someone has created a Twitter account absolutely tearing the situation apart, tweeting our Chief Executive, slating them for not having enough members of the BAME community in executive positions, slamming the creation of new positions for friends of the Executive Team and posting about previously made NDA for employees who have been through the consultation period. Obviously feel for the people at risk, but been popcorn central this week, waiting on the next tweet and what it will be.
  21. My man. Dishes are a massive pain in the arse for me. I just don’t understand why people can’t spend five minutes drying the dishes after they’re washed and put them away, the kitchen just looks like a total state if they’re left out. People say it’s unhygienic to dry them with a dish towel, but if you’re not a manky individual you’ll use a clean towel and stick it in the wash afterwards.
  22. If I’m in the middle of writing code or segmenting a piece of work it is much easier to skim through an email, and get back to the task in hand, than it is to stop and have a conversation with someone about something completely different to what I’m working on and go back to my work. Maybe it’s just my workplace, but I just see it as general etiquette to send a quick message to see if they’re free, regardless of their status on Teams, than just call straight away.
  23. I know the question wasn’t aimed at me, but depending on what I was working on, or who was calling, absolutely.
