  1. TBH I suspect we'll need nearer to 40 points; unlike other years there's no real obvious contenders for the drop. For a while it looked like St Johnstone were odds on but they seem to have upped their game. Also it looks like the Rangers could be shelling out more points throughout the season Even Celtic have not exactly been infallible and could end up dropping more points in pretty much any post-Lennon period. I suspect this year is likely to be a lot closer than previous seasons.
  2. Incidentally what was with the banner about stopping Stadium bans?
  3. We really needed that win; didn't think either team played particularly well in the first half but maybe the weather played a part. Pretty sure SportScene will be glad of the sending off else they wouldn't have had anything to talk about in the first half. Was pretty happy with McKay's performance and Sean Kelly did a lot better than predicted in the CD role. The rest did okay but was disappointed by Nouble; don't know where his mind was but it certainly wasn't on the pitch; hes a lot better than that.
  4. Play list for today.... Earth Wind and Fire Wet Wet Wet The Tornadoes The Three Degrees Kool and the Gang Coldplay?
  5. Dundee's game already called off (waterlogged pitch) Still I cant help remembering the game at St Johnstone last season where the team needed life preservers but it still went ahead.
  6. Just been on the A71 and flooded all over the place. Passable but down to one lane (middle of the road) so need to be patient. Give yourself more time and arrive safe. looking at the Beeb it seems the weather is improving after about 3pm - not that it will do us much good.
  7. A bit harsh TBH. Naive or gullible perhaps but he believe Keane who, according to him, encouraged him to put his name down as guarantor particularly with the stadium deals involving Gavin Masterton
  8. You gave both of the old firm a hard game; by contrast in two league and one cup game we've conceded 11 goals without reply.
  9. True but to my limited knowledge only Flynn continued to actively support Celtic after taking on Livi. Keane really took on the Livi mantle and John McGuinness ploughed pretty much everything he had into the club.
  10. I know. I try to be positive but remember what it was like the last time we had a Celtic supporter as owner. At the very least he should update his Facebook profile. Remember though that the profile from Companies House only lists his roles on the board of directors. It doesn't show any ownership in companies where he doesn't hold an executive position hence his involvement in JVL, the consortium that bought up Mortons Rolls assets, isn't shown. It also occurs to me that buying a controlling share on Livingston could end up being a shrewd move. Previously we apparently had at least two American bidders but they were put off by the ongoing court cases. If McIlvogue can clear that then perhaps they could be interested again? In order for that to work though there would need to be a period of stability.
  11. I'd certainly be happy with a 1-1 draw at the moment; biggest question though; will Devlin be fit and able to last 90 minutes? With the international break coming up its possible that Martindale will continue to rest him until the Killie game.
  12. I hope both teams will be remembering the tragic circumstances that happened during the week and will be marking it accordingly. Imagine Celtic conceding a goal and losing the game in the 95 minute? Obviously one minute of applause; laugher and general derision.
  13. I read somewhere that South Africa aren't high enough in the world rankings to guarantee a work permit even if he was part of the senior squad. Mind you its such a complicated, grey, area who can predict the outcome.
  14. Thanks for that - was starting off as a bit of a cr@p day but now things seem a little brighter.
  15. You're out of the league cup already aren't you?
  16. They don't have Van McKoy playing for them so it'll all be a bit of a hustle. Actually no sorry to see the back of Van Veen; expect Shamal isn't either.
  17. There would be an argument that Brown should have received a straight red though (denying a clear goal scoring opportunity and not exactly a shoulder charge as he definitely changes direction. I still prefer the one where Ambrose and another Saints player collided in the box and Anderson (I think) went through to score. Nowadays it'd be 50/50 that the ref would have stopped play for a head knock.
  18. Unfortunately my first though was there were about 8 or 9 player out there that could easily walk into the first team.
  19. I remember we used Scott Bitsindou as a central defender for a couple of games last season (early season and "B" team I think). It wasn't terribly successful and I think he might even have got sent off in one case but, the way things are going, maybe he should start focussing on that role. It might be his best chance of getting another appearance.
  20. Incidentally I thought Obileye seemed to be running awkwardly on Saturday. If, as I suspect, he is carrying an injury it makes the leaving of De Lucas on the bench even more baffling.
  21. Over the past few weeks it become increasingly more apparent how much we miss Devlin and Montano. Devlin's miss is obvious as he's really steadied the defence and seems able to bring the best out of other - that aside from being an excellent CD himself. Montano is a bit more of an enigma as, on paper at least we have plenty of options to replace him; whether he's playing on the left or the right; winger or wingback. We probably have more technically skilful players in those positions but none seem to add that particular "bite"; edge if you like. Also it seems that, with a team with Cristian in the side; our back three seem less inclined to continually pass the ball between themselves; looking for the perfect attack that never comes. Last I heard he was out for maybe six weeks; if, for a change, that is accurate, we will hopefully see him back in November? In the meantime hopefully some others will raise their game.
  22. I'm 66 so I'm double phuqued. I suppose what I'm saying is even a geriatric Stevie many could score rather than Stevie my is geriatric. Could do with a haircut and shave though.
  23. Playing Parkes in a back 3 is disastrous - fr too slow; even a geriatric Stevie May could have a field-day.
  24. It was raining quite heavily at the time. We were quite near the stadium so at the back of the queue; when everyone was funneled on the the A85 (Crief Road?) but even so some people insisted in wanting to turn right. from turning right.
