I heard the rumour weeks ago and now seen it deleted twice in public. If it’s true I wonder if there will be some kind of safeguarding investigation?

I suspect the Administrators are keeping a close eye on this thread anyway after all the stuff that was going on recently. I did reply to your post that I thought you should deleted it as it was an unsubstantiated rumour from a sevco fan who probably already has an axe to grind after the debacle at the weekend. That is of course unless you have hard and fast evidence that would stand up in a court if accused of slander. That's beside the impact that such a post could have on his family; wife and children if any.

In any event its a personal matter; Dave Black has more than enough to answer for after what happened on Sunday.

Not even in the 70's, think my big bother wore them with platform shoes, and had that long hair poodle look.

Hey - I think you're only a year or two younger than me; you certainly would have worn them. I even remember "bell-bottoms" and "tank tops".

Platforms were a real leg breaker, particularly when running for a train, but also gave me many a headache when not realising the low beams in the local pubs were a lot closer now that I was three inches taller.

Fair enough I suppose but the statement "Prior to this fixture, a visiting supporters group called “The Green Brigade”, via the Celtic SLO, requested a Tifo display in all three stands allocated to the Celtic support and to have a banner displayed along the front of the East Stand. The banner was to read “You Play for Us and We’ll Sing for You”. does sound decidedly gullible.

I mean "Green Brigade"? Is that the same "Green Brigade" that was banned from their own stadium for "inappropriate activities"?

I had heard this a good few weeks ago doing the rounds.

I am surprised it has taken this amount of time to come out.

I tend to agree with you tho.

Okay - frankly I am outraged about what went on on Sunday; how they got permission from the club to carry out such a display and that's even ignoring the pyrotechnics.

The club really should be called on to explain their stance on the matter; and I mean from the top; not one of the poor women in reception who have been receiving all the flack.

It was embarrassing enough anyway; but allowed to stand whilst SKY were doing their live broadcast and beaming it around the world?

If they paid us £100k to be allowed to make that live demonstration then leastways that would be some sort of a reason, albeit morally questionable, but to pander to them on a whim raises some serious questions.

EDIT - Sorry for the rant; still haven't calmed down.

Giving them access to set up a big daft tifo around your stadium is fucking tinpot

I'm still trying to work out what a mega banner about the Irish Easter rising has to do with a football match in Scotland but, more particularly, why they were given permission by the club.

If they want to do that at their home grand then that's their prerogative but that seemed deliberately inflammatory. How would they like it if every team that visited their ground had huge banner listing the names of all the people murdered by the IRA?

Aye I've always thought it could be a factor in him not playing as much but never the whole reason. Martindale's man management of Bruce has been abysmal. I do think it properly annoyed Martindale that he turned down the move to Georgia.

Have to agree; Anderson is still a very good player. His confidence but be at about zero level with Martindale's use of him. Anderson was never an impact sub; he wears defenses down by chasing the ball and closing down players all of the time; then the gaps start to appear - you cant do that for the last ten minutes of a game.

I would think Devlin's extension has been triggered by now, but yes.

It's telling that after Devlin left, Martindale spoke about needing a RB because what we had wasn't good enough. He signs Welch-Hayes who doesn't play and then uses Brandon who he himself said wasn't good enough. Kelly isn't good enough at this level either. Nottingham is pish beyond belief.

If the only requirement for being a defender is that you need to be over 6 foot then Sean Kelly qualifies as a defender. Unfortunately it isn't.

I've spoken to Mikey a few times and every time he comes across as an absolute gentleman who can't do enough for fans but on the flip side, he's got an incredibly dour demeanor. On the flipside, you have a guy like Jason Holt who talks exactly as you'd expect a club captain to talk.

In hindsight I wonder if some of his demeanor on the night might be because he was worried about the reception seeing as how poorly the team are doing. Fair play to him for standing up there in the first place.

Is everyone back fit for selection against Celtic?

Not much spin can be put on the season now right enough, all that's left is trying to get some wins and see if we can close the gap a bit, it would take a hell of a turnaround on our season's form to get more wins in the remaining 8 games than we've managed in the 30 games we've played.

Would be great if Teto could play in the Championship next season, do we actually think there's a chance when he's still here, very frustrating.

No-one was on crutches if that helps.

Mikey Devlin mumbling at the floor about how bad its been for the club and him personally. It was great as a sales evening TBH. Not criticising the guy for how he feels per se but the rest of the team were listening to him and hardly getting energized by it.

Yes; its been a very poor season but there are always positives. But, even if there weren't, there is a a way of dressing things up so that they don't sound so damn awful. Talk about the battle back to fitness; the determination to improve; players supporting each other etc. etc.

  10. Was at the sponsors meeting tonight at the stadium.

Joel Nouble was a perfect gentleman; plenty of time for the young supporters and chatting with supporters. TBH most of the other players put in the effort also.

The interview with David Black and Mikey Devlin virtually had me opening my wrists. FFS we all know we're in a bad position but we don't want to hear how bad its been. I appreciate they're down but try and put a bit of spin on it.

All the players put in an appearance including Aphelele Teto and Miles Welch-Hayes. As far as I know the only player missing was Morgan Boyes which is perhaps understandable.

Yep, it all comes down to money, we scrapped the youth teams to start with when they brought in that project Braveheart nonsense, because we couldn't afford them. In the top flight we had several seasons where we were close to a Euro spot and just missing the cut for top 6, and had we got it we wouldn't make the criteria to qualify, so started up these teams to do so. Relegation will mean cuts to staff and anything else draining money, and unfortunately the only team that brings in money to keep the club going is the men's team.

Always though scrapping the youth team had more to do with throwing our toys out of the pram following Malky Mackay's Project Brave debacle rather than true financial decisions.

A few years back one of my sons volunteered as a coach on the youth teams. This meant that he could get his various badges and the club got his services for free; he wasn't the only one either. Yes; you need to pay out for kit etc. but a lot of that used to be covered by periodic bucket collections.

Some of the communications coming out at the time seemed to try and blame the SFA/SPFL/Brave for the need to curtail the youth system perhaps in the hope that they would change their mind. What actually happened was that various people expressed "regret" and then it all disappeared under the carpet.

Project Brave made no sense, or at least the way it was delivered, but our management hardly covered themselves in glory either.

    Project Brave

  12. With all the uncertainty obviously we worry for peoples' jobs etc. but I also wonder about the ladies team and the academy.

Both seem to be doing pretty well but have virtually no spectators. Funds are needed to keep these going; leastways with the academy there is the ability to fill some seats on the bench with "prospects" thus hopefully meaning we can have a smaller first team; but that doesn't apply for the woman's football.

Most of us are guilty, in as much as we haven't been along to watch them on their Sunday games, even though we get in free with our season tickets. I do, however, feel its important to have a senior woman's team in the area to encourage those developing into the game; the fact that they are doing well is a bonus.

It would be a real shame if these machinations put all that at risk.

I don't think it's Trumpty that would have deleted his posts. It's most likely a moderator trying g to keep the forum from any potential court cases.

I've read this all twice now and I've still absolutely no idea what's going on.

Yes - not only have the posts been removed but all quotes from other people posts have also been removed. Somebody obviously spent a couple of hours sorting that mess out.

Funny that i haven't commented on the court case or said i was in court.

Posts like this are just lies. Before you jump back in proof your fabricated claims go on?

Actually I already pointed that out....

I'm actually reasonably convinced that Livi is one person with one account. Although perhaps not a prolific poster over the years he has been fairly consistent.

The other three bogus accounts on this thread however are pretty definitely one person.

Is this honestly what people do at university these days?

Actually I heard one of the red-brick universities funded a two year research project to clarify if excessive consumption of alcohol impacted chances of getting good exam results.

FFS - I did that research fifty years ago and didn't even get paid for it.

SPOILER ALERT - the answer was YES

  16. Sorry to interrupt this with football but....

    Quote

Referee Don Robertson will be the whistler for Celtic's weekend visit to Livingston, having awarded a red card and penalty against Rodgers' side at Hearts recently. And Rodgers will face a disciplinary hearing about his post-match comments about that defeat at Tynecastle prior to Sunday's game.

Some how I doubt this is good news for Livingston; With all the "victimization" statements going on will Robertson be keen to prove he's not anti Celtic?

  17. As far as I'm aware most of the posters on this forum do not particularly like either Ward or Martindale.

The bogus account trio, though, seem to be in the camp of replace at all costs and bring in their saviour on a metaphorical white charger. The majority of posters on there seem to think that would be worse than what we have already; as shite as that may be.

The level of anger etc. displayed by the bogus poster does display a kind of "if you're not with us you're against us" sort of mentality - where have we come across that before?

Speaking personally I would like to see Ward and co. replaced with a professional experienced board; ideally with funds to spend. Also ideally not some fly-by-night spiv and his cronies.

Everything else is irrelevant; court cases etc. personally I couldn't give a stuff. What does worry me is the way that this is being broadcast as some sort of trump card without any details which does seem to display some fairly worrying trends in the mental state of the poster. I'm not trying to be offensive here but it does seem there's a lot more going on than first appears.

No, I'm just bored of reading this thread and seeing you claim you know all about the court case, claiming you went to the court case, and then saying you're actually just guessing it was him.

It reeks of a 12yo kid who's just discovered they can get easy attention by making things up.

  19. Note to all - anyone wanting an argument I'm your man at the moment. Earlier I was looking at my phone which had a cracked screen and had managed to get a very small amount of  water ingress. The screen was like someone had done a Jackson Pollock on it with black streaks all over the place. it also registered some bogus key-strokes.

I started to think I heard some off clicks coming from the phone followed by some fizzing. Suddenly it got very hot and a flame; yes flame, appeared perpendicularly almost as if it came from a blow torch.

Then the whole battery caught fire; heat was intense as I removed it from the house and threw it into the garden. With the smoke alarm going wild the fire burnt itself out fairly quickly considering the degree of heat it generated.

The smoke was reduced far quicker than my blood pressure.

On my second large whisky already - anyone wanting a towlsin?

  20. Its funny; on Sunday I was waiting at West Calder railway station and a brown coloured van with Braidwood Motor Company in gold writing  drove in to the carpark and parked half on the disabled parking space and half in front of the platform exit. This was in spite of there being plenty of proper parking spaces less than 20 feet away.

The van sat there for 10 minutes with its engine running until another car chose to park right behind him. This seemed to irritate him and he did a ten point manoeuvre until he was able to drive straight out of the station carpark (I assume either his passenger had got out or he'd given up waiting).

Whereas not actually a motoring offence it did seem to represent total disregard for anyone else and basic common decency.

Isn't Braidwood Motor company connected to someone in all this?
