Dundee FC vs St Johnstone - 02/01/2024
neildundee replied to Ludo*1's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Sad that this got called off. Brought the Missus over from the States and it's the first time I've been home in Dundee for Christmas and New Year in 7 years. Was hoping to see them play. Ah well back to the shifty MLS it is. -
Players whomst you wish not only never played for your football club, but also never played professional football in Scotland - perhaps even the entire world - so that you had absolutely no chance of knowing what contemptible people they were

Growing up I didn't rate Jan Zemlik or Jani Sturm when they played at Dens. Genuinely don't remember them doing anything. Maybe my fellow Dee's will correct me on that. -

My mum made me a birthday cake based on the model of the old Magners white strip, with the red and blue stripe going down diagonally and she painstakingly made the wreath badge on it as well. Very lucky that day as I got to meet Jim Duffy while the team was out at Camperdown doing fitness work. I may have missed it a few years ago with the badge change, but was there any reason given why we moved away from the wreath? -

Real Monarchs play in the MLS Next Pro division. It's a division comprised of MLS clubs 2nd teams. It's the 3rd highest division in the US Football pyramid. It's basically a brand new set up in 2022 for the league system. -

I can ask Jack Ross tomorrow. He is doing a coach education course I'm going on in Philadelphia tomorrow. -
Queen’s Park v Dundee

Looks like they are using a technology called Spivio. We use it across in America for youth football games. It will follow anything that resembles the ball. Only knew a goal was scored by the Queens fans cheering. -

Dragon's Pearl next to Rosebank Primary was top notch. Again, not sure if its still there. Been 6 years since I've been home so things have changed. Anyway, I have a Friday night off so can watch this. What's the best place to watch it on? I saw Queens Park don't do streaming? -

Derick Osei on a free. I can't watch the games much due to the time difference across here in the States and being a football coach myself but will he make a difference if anyone has seen him in the Reserve games? -

Aye, it's pretty good. Currently doing a Wrexham save. Tried Dundee, but we are mince in it. -

Tell her she might get to meet Ryan Reynolds if he's in town for the Wrexham game. -

I'm moving to Philly and was planning on taking in a Union game. Looking at their ticket prices it's about $25-$40 for a single game. Not sure if those seats give the best view of the pitch but found that price is fairly reasonable. Think the last time I was at Dens, about 7 or 8 years ago, the ticket price was £25 for me. Last time I had a season ticket it was £250 if I remember right. -

Ian Holloway has said he'd fancy job in Scotland. Link back up with Charlie and relive their Blackpool days at Dens. -

Did we not boo MacKinnon that day after that challenge, which led to him having an absolute headloss in an interview with the Daily Record with him saying he wasn't a dirty player and he hates being called a thug? -

I'd go a size up. I had a beer belly when I 1st got them sent to me and they were very tight, kind of like Kylie Minogue's hot pants from the 90's. I've slimmed down a bit and they fit a bit better now. -

This was his ultimate point and what a very good one he makes. The Head of Printing got blasted by him and fans alike. -

I think we should just ban the Tele like we did to the Daily Record a few years ago. You've hit the nail on the head about the social media side of things Ludo. If you're a player now following a clubs Facebook or Twitter page, you really can't avoid the comments. -

I don't post often on here, but I know I've had a go about him in the past, and like you say, we don't know if they do read sites like P&B. Will it change people's opinions and what they say? Maybe and maybe not. He does have a point about the Tele. They should be ashamed of themselves for printing it. -

He's on about an article the Tele printed a few weeks ago about Partick being interested in signing him and the Tele decided to put in screenshots of comments made by fans on here and social media to show how he wouldn't be missed and we wanted him out the club. -

Hamilton should do better on both of them I feel. Did the 3rd take a deflection then go into the ground and bounce to beat him? I'd argue that on the 2nd, maybe he could've been tighter and closed down quicker but that's just me from a coaching standpoint. Hamilton shouldn't be getting beat from that angle though -

He's got a point Ludo, looking at the highlights, Forster was a decent defender. Decent enough to be culpable for their 3 goals by the looks of things. The 2nd and 3rd were just laughable between him and Hamilton -

I remember all of those games that year. Truly woeful stuff. That was just an abject year all round. I felt the same way about Duffy. I was only 13 at the time but can tell he would've most likely had us back up or at least challenging unlike Kerno. Hopefully it doesn't get like that this season. -

A question for you all that I've been pondering all day: Are we in a worse position now than we were in the Kernaghan season?
