  1. Genuinely, did any other ref ever apply that supposed ‘new directive’ at any other game at any point during the rest of the season? Utter farce.
  2. Presumably we'll find out soon enough, but my understanding was Hartley said the club HAS the option, but doesn't want to enforce it if Sibbald isn't wholly committed to staying. Seems like a reasonable stance from The Don.
  3. yeah, agree Reg... Welsh was a complete non-event; Louis 14 looked like he understood what link-up play was about, with some decent assists as well as his handful of goals. Looked like he cared as well. Sorry to see him go; but as you say, if we’re to assume that Hartley thinks he’s got better lined up, then bring it on...
  4. Maybe he fancies he’s good for a team up with his new staunch pal Arfield over in Govan and they can guard the old walls together. Surprised he seemingly did so well for you lot, as for us he was no more than a fidget on the park, and an embarrassment off it.
  5. If I remember this right, Dave Clarke signed Stuart Burgess in our first season in the Premier? He may well have had the runaround at Tynecastle that particular game, probably a few more during that season against the top teams, but to be fair to him I remember him as dependable and good enough at First Division level under Duffy. Did like a night in BTW with the ladies right enough, and wore some pretty howling shiny grey suits.
  6. Given the opposition, can't see anything wrong with that at all. Nope.
  7. Agreed Bairnardo, and I think Hartley said that's where he wants to play Sibbald, central behind a front two. (Like at Tynecastle, when we won 3-2 and he scored that fantastic winner). Yes please.
  8. Fair's fair, gents, that video made me laugh, in a good way. Great effort.
  9. yeah, neither could we. Real panto villain performance. Booooooo!
  10. Its more point and laugh coming from our side Poet; seems pretty clear the seethe is all in (what's left of) his exploded heid. Great entertainment though.
  11. Will be more interested to see him clattering right into "Heid's Gone" Higginbothum to be honest. Hard, but legal, like.
  12. Making him exactly the kind of player we should be aiming for. Plus, he looks like you wouldn't want to nick his crisps...Or play against him. Get him telt about our Fife cousins.
  13. Harkins absolutely bossed the first game at TFS last season; seemed to be involved in everything positive, great passer and waltzed through the midfield to score a pretty decent goal. Second game at TFS however, oh dear. A sloppy, petulant mess as the game passed him by. And lucky not to see red. There's your dilemma.
  14. ...yeah, just what we need; re-sign another 5foot8, 10 stone midfielder who has no physical presence, doesn't go box to box, can't shoot, and can barely pass further than 10 yards from inside his own half. Brilliant. We've been down this road over the last.. 5, 6, 7? years, and its baffling that some folks still think this kind of player is going to make us better. Significantly better than what we have is what we desperately need. Remind me how long its been debated that we need stronger, taller midfielders in the team, not lightweight makeweights?
  15. Completely agree, Bairnardo. People talk about wanting the club to start showing real ambition, and then still talk about O'Hara & Shepherd being part of the squad. Sorry chaps, but get real. Our sights should be set on unearthing another Farid or Lyle Taylor, someone of bona fide quality, who will have a tangible impact on our prospects, rather than still grasping at the hope that a couple of entirely ineffective kids suddenly come good. If Hartley came out saying we were going with both of them next season this thread would implode.
  16. Crikey, there's another one awake... How in the world you would read any of this as 'celebrating losing' that game will be known only unto you and your gods. Maybe we just have a different grasp of written language.
  17. Just giving a quick thanks & goodbye to PG, Gav...Just a wee acknowledgement of his efforts. Will happily post a picture of Pea-heart Harris' most memorable contribution when he also leaves the club...oh wait...
  18. Ah Poet, you young scamp....I know you're at the wind up, but at least you were correct in appreciating that it was, indeed, a cup final. Not that you'd likely remember what that experience is about, eh?
  19. And therefore entirely understandable that Duffy got booted, given that for the 2nd season in a row, you completely chucked it away from an very promising position, this time plummeting to 7th and a meagre 3 points above us - which considering our lamentable point and laugh showing pre-January, shows Duffy's trajectory to be most definitely downwards.
  20. Yup, that is exactly how the day went for me, and I guess so many others... "we're actually going to do it" just out my mouth when...well, you know the rest. Anyway, of all the goals we've scored that in context really meant something - like McGrillen's in the '97 replay, or Sir Bob's in the Hibs playoff, PG's is one of a handful that really, really got me moist and for that I again say - thanks for the memory, big fella...
  21. Yeah, as has now been noted it was McCracken, GMB, not Grant. I know we're still trying to blank out the winning goal, but please don't mix up a wee thank you to big Peter!! A real tragedy he's never been the same since that injury, otherwise IMO would have gone on to be Bairns captain, stalwart, legend... All the best big fella.
  22. the other big plus for keeping McGhee is he can actually put a bit of proper bite into a tackle, something we’ve lacked in both defence, since Grant got injured, and in mid-field, whenever TT is out.
  23. The all-red away effort is ok; it’s the horrific, utterly characterless, blackest, blue, blue & blue home combo that is, without doubt, bog-awful. White shorts are a prerequisite with the navy blue.
