Guys, Ruth isn't the issue here.

Farrell can't survive this surely?
He can and he will. It would take too long to explain.

Until now I have not called for a change of Manager. That has changed tonight.
Well take it from one who knows that you are highly unlikely to see it. Sincere apologies, but it's a shitshow.

It's that Annan play-off reel all over again - good goal that.

1-0 own goal Ryan Blair. Maybe best not to watch.
The stream is also weirdly jerky. Appreciate if anyone reading could pass this on.
Thanks....I'm in and it's probably as well I missed my favourite player's OG.

I've paid for a ticket and can't access this - help me somebody as I'm stuck in an Eventrite doom-loop.

I'm quite excited for this, for no other reason than it'll be nice to watch us on a stream that isn't pixellot.
I heard we're looking to ditch Pix-E-Lottery, the sooner the better.

Durnan being available again is a massive boost although it'll be a few games before he's back up to speed again
Yep, I hope he manages game time tonight especially on a grass park. Ditto Callum Wilson, and I'm sure they are both desperate to get started.

Aggies increasingly nervous Blues take on the resurrection shuffle Sons in a game which could be season-defining for both clubs.
A home win would ease the pressure on Stranraer whilst if the Sons could win here and avoid defeat at Methil on Saturday then a play-off place could be virtually assured. Who wants it more ?

Gallagher Lennon came into the team when we in a dire run. Between that and being played out of his natural position it was quite an ask. He'll benefit from competitive game time and playing alongside more experienced players like Sean Crighton.
His main weakness is a lack of pace but that needs not be fatal in a central defender provided he can read a game.
And funnily enough Matty Shiels never impressed many of us in his first spell here. The same Matty we were all disappointed to see go about six weeks ago. Fitba eh ?

A fully deserved win and a great strike from Mikey Ruth against a strangely anaemic Peterhead side. But somebody answer me a question - why can't we leave Ruth on and play with two up front because his departure, and his ability to hold the ball, nearly cost us at the death ?

Whilst this result is notable in its own right, there is an element of folk using it as a massive protest vote, safe in the knowledge there a GE coming soon.
However, it might also point to something a bit new in UK politics. In some seats, you will have this shift to 'far left?' Or however you want to define Galloway and in others, you will get a shift to the far right. Will all be local and locational. For all the current Tory part are touring the far right and Corbyns Labour courted the far left, neither party really want the extremes to gain momentum.
Probably makes the case for proportional representation stronger. People will still feel they can vote for parties that are smaller and marginal and that their voices are heard (however much we might not want to hear some) and you wouldn't get extreme results like last night.
I never ever thought that I would write this but perhaps a combination of dire turnouts and piles of 'None Of The Above' ballots in the next GE may begin to concentrate minds. I'm very seriously considering the latter for the first time since I started voting in 1974.

It's a contest whether Galloway or Gove is the Unflushable Turd Of UK Politics.

Anyone know what’s on down the stadium tonight? I noticed the floodlights are on which may not bode well for Saturday.
So did we find out ?

Exactly this. But I wouldn't pretend that this stops at the border.
No I certainly wouldn't pretend that either but there seems to be a greater density in the English electorate, in every sense of the word.

I booked a holiday in May yesterday. Whether we make the playoffs or not I'll be on the beach.
Quite right Pete, but in case you are going to Nairn then you could easily make a game at Balmoor.

These people were always there. Previously they were regarded as oddballs who admired Enoch Powell and you were unlucky if you ever found you had to talk to any of them. Nowadays, especially after Brexit, their views are more often heard and they are shown more respect than they ever deserved.
I suspect MSM is largely to blame, especially down in England. There are a number of newspaper owners who probably lean more towards the Reform Party but realise that only the Tories are electable. Every time some right-wing populist has anything to say, in the UK, the USA or Europe, they get far more coverage and encouragement than they should.
I agree that they were always there, but never in such numbers and across such a range of social classes. It's a moot point if the media is further inflaming their atavistic fears and prejudices or whether it is merely reflecting them - either way it's very disturbing.
And after Brexit I think all bets are off on just WHO may be electable, the continental European drift towards the far right could conceivably take root in swathes of England. There's a lot of suggestible people about.

You really have to wonder where the Tories are headed post GE when they will be outwith the glare of power. Their great reset is going to be more akin to a wrecking ball.
I'm less worried about what becomes of the Tories than the fact that there are so many people in the UK, but mostly in England, who are now openly responding to the deeply racist dog whistle from the likes of Anderson, Truss, Braverman and Tice. The last two weeks has been like lifting a stone and seeing the insects crawl around.

I have to say, I don't think Stranraer were very good at all. They had plenty of the ball but other than Ben Armour's header, they didn't look like nearly scoring. I think we were good value for the win over the 90 mins.
Although I agree that Farrell deserves some credit for making the changes (ones we have all been suggesting for weeks but it took him til yesterday to see...) I also think he invited the pressure in the last 15 mins or so. Every sub made us more defensive and I didn't think that was right approach, albeit we ended up with the 3 points.
I think Michael Ruth and Tony Wallace in particular started to tire out of it as the game went on. They were superb in the first half though. T Wallace in particular always makes good use of the ball, compared to other players we have been starting ahead of him in recent weeks. Watching yesterday and he very rarely loses possession and usually when he finds a teammate we are in a better position than when he received the ball. Like others, I'm very concerned about Michael Ruth's fitness! He is having to play 90 mins in every game and we will fall apart without him available.
I'd be concerned as a Stranraer fan. They are rotten and with Clyde's result yesterday, I could see them in some trouble in the coming weeks. The only saving grace is that Stair Park is a tough place to go. Without checking, I'd imagine their form at home is slightly better than their away form.
A good post. I think the sense of relief at once again winning a league game is masking another trademark patchy performance. A more incisive team than Stranraer would maybe have made much more of their second half possession, and it's a worry that we could be heading into playoffs incapable of maintaining a performance level for ninety minutes.
But it is what it is, and it's not likely to change.

That was a disgraceful performance from Oliver Dowden on the Kuenssberg Show this morning. And it's disturbing that Hoyle's utterly fabricated excuse for his actions last week are now being regarded as some sort of factual narrative. The truth is that he was floundering for something to remove himself from the hook he had impaled himself on.
