  1. Got all unconditionals and don't remember even thinking about suggested entry requirements when I applied. Think it says you need AAAA but come to think of it everyone I know on my course got AAAAA and generally the people I know are towards the lower end of the class in terms of results this year.
  2. I've just finished first year mech eng at Edinburgh. Was in the same position as you before hand but I'm happy I went for engineering over maths. Just now I'd say the course is pretty similar to a maths course purely because we all have to learn the core stuff but I think they diverge greatly soon. I'd probably advise you to read some stuff online about the differences between mathematicians and engineers to make your own mind up about the differences.
  3. Bagpipe part is quality. Killie badge in that video at 2.06.
  4. I went through a compulsive period of listening to nothing but Oasis. I've got pretty much every b-side or rarity there is available online. Everything is pretty easy to find on youtube, just look for a list of them all on google and you'll be able to find stuff easily. As for other bands, there's none that have what Oasis had but search though these bands. There's a lot of shite but some gems along the way. Basically all young guitar bands these days grew up idolising the Gallaghers so their influence is everywhere.
  5. Followed everyone, yous better follow back. My feed is going to be rapid until I sort out which one of you I need to get rid of.
  6. Stumbled upon this - http://www.thesun.co...-nightclub.html Anyone got any more info on this establishment.
  7. Currently torrenting the start to this and planning on taking the plunge with a few episodes tonight.
  8. Best place to keep up to date with reaction? Sky Sports News is pish and BBC stream is as well.
  9. To be honest, yeah I do have ulterior motives. Don't care if Scottish football becomes worse than Welsh leagues (which it won't) I just want Rangers fucked. Get it right up them.
  10. Kind of thought this at first but had it on many times now and it's definitely a grower. Can't get enough of Bullet and Bunker now. It's currently 3rd in the mid-week UK chart (1st in Scotland obviously) so looks likely to be their second most successful album since Which Bitch got to 4 and B+C was only 14th.
  11. Ludicrous idea but is there any examples of models where all football clubs are nationalised?
  12. I've heard people say that for an SFL rule change it's over 66% (also heard 50%) of clubs in the league have to say yes. If that's true rather than going by number of votes then in practice an abstention is a no vote. I'm sickened that we're not voting No straight-up though.
  13. Anyone with twitter do me a favour and send something to Dundee's CEO advising he votes no. It's already been confirmed that we'll abstain (which as far as I'm aware is effectively a no) but I'd like a definite no from us. Twitter name is. https://twitter.com/#!/DfcScot
  14. That's not the point I'm makes. Take the example of the BBC's national radio stations (Radio 1, 2, 5Live etc.), all are national and therefore rightly paid for by everyone but all the thousands of jobs that are supported by them are based around London. Same goes for the majority of national TV shows. Surely they could spread it about a bit so all areas of the country benefit from the BBCs policy of making British-funded shows in Britain because just now at disproportionate amount of them are made in England. It's petty but at the end of the day it's all of us who are getting shafted by it.
  15. If we were to disregard all our morals and do only what is best for Scottish football then could murder of the best foreign players so we will easily win the World Cup....
  16. If the BBC's only obligation is to make content for the masses then they should be spending all our license fees hiring writers, producers and actors in Hollywood. The reality is a lot of our fees are spent supporting jobs in the London economy then the multiplier effect takes places meaning an even greater amount of jobs down there are subsided by us. Read this pretty damning Ofcom study which says Scotland contributes 8.6% of license fee yet just 3.7% of BBC's programme making expenditure gets spent in Scotland. Sorry to get overly political but the truth needs to be told. It would be much better for our economy having these jobs more local. If we genuinely want what's best for our national game this type of institutional unfairness towards Scotland in general needs fixed.
  17. Why's that though? Years of investing every penny in the EPL causing the Scottish leagues to become neglected and under-funded. Fair point about Wales and Ireland but they are very different to Scotland. In Wales football supporters follow Welsh teams in the English league and the majority of others are rugby people. In Ireland they have gaelic games which don't have money sucked away to England and can flourish.
  18. In Scotland we've actually got the highest attendances per capita in Europe. Look at crowds in Norway, Finland, Ireland, Croatia; all countries with similar populations as Scotland yet their crowds and leagues are worse than ours. Our problem is just the typical Scottish problem of taking ourself down. It's Scottish so it's crap.
  19. Pressure needs to be put on the BBC as well. How much do the BBC pay for their EPL highlights, Championship games and FA Cup compared with the amount they spend on their puny coverage of Scottish football. Going by population 8% of the license fee is funded by Scots so we should get a proportional amount of the BBC's football budget spent of our domestic game. Same goes for Welsh and NI, time too end us subsiding the EPL.
