  1. Well there you go... purposely stayed quiet all this season after making my feelings about Darren Young quite clear at the start of the campaign. to finish 7th is an absolute travesty and one that shouldn’t be overlooked in my eyes, other than October - December we have been absolutely stinking for the other 21 months under Darren’s time as manager and the results don’t lie. we beat rovers twice, fantastic do you think they give a toss whilst they sit in the playoffs tonight? Absolutely not. We got to the semi finals (by default) of a a cup nobody really cares about, knocked out the first round of the league cup and done okay? In the Scottish. I’ve never come across a set of fans who settle for mediocrity quite like some of the guys on here. Montrose are in the playoffs tonight, MONTROSE!! Why? Because they have a manager who has somewhat of an idea what he’s doing. 1 win in 16 is not good enough at any level of football, we had a very similar run last year and he some how survived and what makes it worse this time around, rather than getting the boot he’s been given another contract. i suspect I’ll be told I’m an idiot or whatever else by some of the hardcore but deep down everyone knows he’s not good enough and deep down everyone knows this season has turned out to be a failure. As predicted funnily enough, what can I say?
  2. Every week you get more and more embarrassing, please stop.
  3. I'm actually struggling to understand if you are being serious or not, we haven't won a game this season so regardless of whether you think they have been our best players (isn't an achievement, just to clarify) they are still not of a standard needed to stay in the division. You can dress it up however you like but the fact is they wouldn't play for anyone else in the league. I'm sure you know that deep down despite being very delusional.
  4. The team is shite, 95% of us know that. Guys like Dunlop, Davidson, Dowds etc..wouldn't get s game for any other team in the league. The same 95% of us know that under the current set up we'll most likely finish in the bottom 2 this season. As much as I'd like DY to prove me wrong it's just not going to happen. 6 wins out of 30 is shambolic at any level but at this level in particular and he should of been gone a long time ago it's unfortunate that the other 5% seem to think he can do no wrong, we'll get a tanking next week and be bottom with 0 points at the end of August. Big up too the true fans who back this guy, you are doing the club a great service.
  5. Aye you keep saying this shite and the answer to your question is there are none because we missed them all 4 weeks ago. It's really that simple. I'm sure you'll now come back to me with some more bs about Spence etc..but the fact is the strikers we apparently targeted didn't fancy East Fife so there should of been backup's and if there was why didn't they fancy East Fife and I think everyone knows the answer. People like yourself and others on here are quick to talk about how fantastic our not so very fantastic squad is but the fact is we failed to sign a goalscorer and of course that won't be the only reason why we are the bottom 2 come May but it'll certainly play a big part, that chance is now gone and we'll have to make do with Court up top by himself occasionally supported by kev.
  6. Aye it's great value right enough watch us go down without a fight every week against teams like Arbroath etc.. There's a reason they haven't put the prices up because it would be the final nail in the coffin. Crowds are already worryingly low and the feeling around the club from when Naysmith left to now is night and day, who in their right mind would pay even more money to watch 11 headless chickens run around without a game plan implemented by one of the worst managers*(and I use that term loosely) in the Scottish leagues. It's not secret I don't like Darren Young, he's a terrible terrible manager and it doesn't matter what anybody says the stats and league table show he's not upto it. As I mentioned on twitter after the game on Saturday if he'd had a full pre season last summer we would most likely be going down this season and if he does get to take the team into next season we will go down. 21 points from our last 20 games is absolutely horrendous and the "real fans" everybody knows who these people are, who keep defending him and act like everything is going great are the ones costing us a chance at progressing. I don't for a second believe Brechin, Dumbarton, Arbroath, Alloa, Stranraer etc.. are bigger or better clubs than we are but under the current situation they'll continue to out perform us season after season.
  7. Of course its not Darren Young's fault all of the time but you aren't going to sack the entire squad and the buck stops with the manager. As you've pointed our we are abysmal at set pieces and although the players need to take responsibility on the pitch the manager and coaching team need to come up with a plan to stop it and I've seen nothing whatsoever to suggest they have improved. I'm sorry but the excuse that he came in late in the summer is gone now, he perhaps could of got away with using that at the start of the season but not at the end of February. The fact that he started the season okay backs this point up even more. The one point where I definitely agree with you is that is a critical time for the team and any other club would of made the change before we got to this point but we haven't and unfortunately I think we'll pay the ultimate price come May.
  8. Why is that dramatic? If we lose on Saturday we will go down.
  9. Perhaps not in terms of what they are paying him but in terms of quality he's most definitely a cheap option and even more questions have to be asked of those running the club if he is indeed being paid a ridiculous amount. To be fair to Naismith at least you could see some sort of improvement in the team even when things weren't going so well. Unlike now where we go down without a fight and with no backup plan every single week. For all of care I hope nobody turns up on Saturday, the players haven't exactly covered themselves in glory & Young definitely doesn't deserve the backing. He's a shit manager end of, in fact he's probably the worst I've seen since I started going in 2002 and that's some achievement. As for the game itself, as you say Albion aren't exactly flying at the moment but as long as they turn up with some sort of game plan and organisation they'll most likely walk straight over us.
  10. Still amazes me that he hasn't been sacked yet. There wasn't even a 1% chance we were going to get a result yesterday and everyone knew it. As a few Ayr fans have commented we are the worst side they have seen and you can't disagree with them. We have 2 or 3 players who are good league 1 players but the rest are a disgrace and when you mix that with a manager who quite clearly hasn't got a clue what he's doing then theres only one outcome. Albion Rovers are now in 9th and 7 points behind us with 2 games in hand. I honestly can't see us winning another game this season unless we get a major bit of luck. We'll go down through the playoffs unless something changes. Makes you wonder what the muppets running the club actually do with their time. Clyde have appointed a proven winner at this level and have now won 5 on the bounce yet we are stuck with the cheap option slugging it out and hoping for the best. Shambles of a club.
  11. It's ridiculous that Young is still in a job, it's been pretty clear for 5/6 weeks now if not longer he isn't fit for the job. His tactics can only be described as laughable and its clear he can't motivate or inspire a group of players. By not making a move sooner we have now said goodbye to the promotion playoffs, lost out on a potential money spinner in the cup and most likely be forced into a relegation scrap which our players don't have the stomach for. The crowds at Bayview are a joke and if these isn't a statement this week coming about Young away then it's only going to get worse. We are run like an amateur club and it'll show come May.
  12. Maybe just maybe, any signing news (players and coaching staff) will come once they've actually signed, wouldn't surprise me if all/any new additions are confirmed on Thursday when training begins. Can't imagine we'll make part time players travel the length and breadth of the country just to sign a bit of paper. Im sure Darren Young has spoken too and agreed deals with players. Let's just be patient.
  13. Ryan Donnelly seems to have done absolutely nothing whatsoever since Airdrie which was what? 3/4 years ago? I'm sure I saw someone on the championship forum say they recently watched him play for Hurlford and was very average. Perhaps he was just in the right place at the right time at Airdrie.
  14. Always wondered what level McAllister would be playing at now if he had decided to give full time a bash. Nothing major but certainly in the premiership I'd like to think.
  15. Of course and I'm not suggesting Brechin away is like going to Hibs but the point I'm trying to make is for the wage he'd be on you would get very little back. He's not a great passer and his distribution and retention of the ball is poor, he has virtually no pace or agility about him. From an East Fife point of view I can't see how he would fit into our team that would justify the money. Who am I though, just a fan with an opinion. An irrelevant one since he's signing again at dumbarton.
  16. I saw him last at Easter Road at the end of April. He wasn't great.
  17. Just because you play in a slightly better quality division doesn't mean you'll "stroll into any team" especially in the case of players like Darren Barr who have no actual technical ability. Other than being experienced he adds absolutely nothing other than a bigger wage.
  18. Are you and Colin just picking names out of a hat? Not only is Darren Barr an awful awful football player, who would you drop to accommodate him? Which you'd have to do because of the money he'd be on compared to the likes of Page etc..Just wait and see who we sign or don't sign. This is the 3rd tier of Scottish football it doesn't work like the premier league in England, doesn't matter what rumours you've heard or Facebooks you've stalked the only person who actually knows is Naysmith.
  19. Both Liam Buchanan & Gary Fisher are players I wouldn't of minded keeping at Bayview, Liam does seem to have a bit of I've played at a higher level therefore better than everyone else about him but he would of scored for fun at League 2, he'll get between 10-15 goals at a decent team in league 1. As for Fisher he has the potential to be a very good player at this level & perhaps higher, we never really got to see the best of him due to injury, as said by others he'll be a standout in the bottom league
  20. To be fair we have dispatched both Berwick & Clyde in the past two seasons with probably our worst squad of the last 20 years...
  21. Very pleased with the signings of Jon McShane & Alan Cook, both more than capable of being standouts in a league where Clyde & Berwick are apparently the big two... Can't remember much of Allan Walker from his days at Rovers, did he not score against us the last time we faced each other in the league at Bayview? Still I'm sure he'll be a good addition to the squad. Best bit of business though is getting Steven Campbell tied down to a new contract! Hopefully Gary Naysmith makes him captain for this season too, could easily play for most if not all of next seasons league 1 clubs so it's great work from Murray & co to keep him! Looking forward to more transfer news now!
  22. Very pleased with the news coming out of Bayview this morning, near enough every player released rightly deserves to be & very few if any will find a club at League 1 or higher. Like I said in my previous post I wouldn't of minded Liam Buchanan & Gary Thom staying as they've both been decent this season & would do a job in League 2, however they're gone now & I'm sure Naysmith will have adequate replacements lined up. Lee Murray tweeting yesterday expecting "big news" by the end of the week, hopefully get a few players in so we can start to mould together the squad, out of the names mentioned Lewis Coult & Alan Cook seems most likely & I'd be very happy with both if they did sign. Not sure what's going to happen in terms of our goalkeeping situation as Pato has been chucked & I'm not sure whether Dylan Rooney is quite ready to be our number one just yet! All will be revealed In the coming weeks! On a side note, does anyone know when our pre-season games are being announced?
  23. Well thankfully the curtain has finally come down on what you can only call a car crash of a season. In all honestly I would of preferred to of been in Arbroath's position & gone down automatically, the playoffs were only delaying our relegation. At 4:45 today feelings were quite raw & I was mainly consumed by anger at what I had just witnessed but after a few hours & a few drinks I'm already looking forward to next season. A new away trip to Annan to look forward to and some old favourites back too in the shape of Elgin & Montrose. It'll definitely be a welcome change from the likes of Forfar, Brechin etc... I really hope Gary Naysmith is still in charge at the start of next season & with a full preseason behind him & a few signings he'll get it right. As mentioned we already it's vital we build our squad around youth with a few old heads thrown in too. Ross Brown & Lewis Barr have the potential to dominate most midfields next year & I'm glad they're both signed up. Nathan Austin is still a bit raw but clearly has talent & perhaps needs the right partner to come in for him to develop on the pitch. Id like to see Greg Paterson resigned aswel as Stevie Campbell, Scott McBride & Liam Buchanan. As for the rest I'd happily see go, I guess guys like Gary Thom, Gary Fisher & Kevin Smith would all be capable of doing a job in league 2 but again not fussed either way. All in all I'm looking forward to a new season and a new look East Fife. 1 step back, 2 steps forward.
  24. Ismael Bouzid to play as trialist vs Wolves, I suppose he'd be a terrible signing as well if he was to put pen to paper? Or perhaps Aimen Demai previously of FC Metz and Kaiserslautern, is he a 3rd division standard player too? Oh & for the record I'd take Durie & Johnstone over Devlin & Malone any day of the week.
