  1. Its a fact that the ammie game is in decline m8, theres no doubt about it. Any ideas or solutions to improve or re-energise it???
  2. Evenly contested game, thought Select created better of chances 1st half, big Finnigan caused Benburbs defence problems. Not much in 2nd half couple of half chances, neither team really getting to grips with game. Scott Maguire was excellent and controlled the game in midfield with the no8 think he may play with Oban also neat & tidy alongside him. Tam Murray at right back also had a good game, no sure what age Tam is now but still shows a great appetite for the game. Good start for the new select Manager and his team.
  3. Best of luck to all involved in the CSAFL league select squad and the new coaching team.
  4. Gary Currie was in the squad but withdrew through injury.
  5. Really sorry to hear this. Obviously been a very difficult few months for the guys at Colville and can imagine the hard work that has went in to trying to prevent it coming to this. U guys & ur Club should be looking forward to celebrating 50 years next year and I hope u can build things back up and go again next season. Best wishes.
  6. Think this shows it doesnt matter how much ability u have, if u dont meet the managers demands and follow his way of thinking u wont be at the Club.
  7. Excellent result yesterday for the Drum, will defo raise a few eyebrows!! Think it shows how wide open the Premier League is this season, any team on there day are capable of beating even the best in the league. Harestanes were looking formidable and not many would have tipped that result yesterday.
  8. Should that not say were on the verge of folding then? If you say theyve saved the Club and signed players then we can presume there ok?
  9. 1a & 1b may well become 1 after thursday night so there will be no argument or discussion.
  10. A see uv got ur crystal bawsoot again this season m8!!
  11. Imo the league r trying there best to assist and help Clubs. There not to blame for teams folding. Theres a massive problem under lying here and its at all grass roots levels. Grass pitches seem to be a thing of the past nowadays due to lack of them and councils not bothering to maintain them properly. Que the council's opportunity to charge over £100 for a 2 hour slot for a game and most sports complexes around £120 also for 2 hours. Add a ref £40 and ur sundries for a game and u can be between £150-£200 for a home game in the Central if u choose or have to play on astro. The leagues need to get together with the powers that be at the highest level to put pressure on the councils and sports complexes to find away to decrease prices or we r going to continue with this trend of teams at all levels i'll add folding.
  12. There are still guys in there mid to late 30s who stand out week in week out for there teams in the Central league so for anyone to doubt that Craig Beattie is not going to make a positive impact at this level needs there head looked at!! Great signing. Are there anymore ex pros out there looking for Clubs? Im sure there would be a que of clubs looking for a signature!!
  13. Only good for the Club having an ex pro of international stature at the Club. Good response also to a poor comment.
  14. Come on lads , lets not let this thread go the same way as some of the others on here. I dont think anyone honestly wants Colville to fall away, the most successfull amateur in decades and no one can take that away from them regardless. The season is almost upon us and we should be discussing who will take over at the top of the amateur game?? The rebuild at Colville should see a changing of the guard and there will be a few teams from the CSAFL who will be fancying there chances of glory this coming season. Harestanes, Bannockburn, Eastfield & St Pats will all be looking to take over as top dogs im sure. Out with the Central, the Scottish would seem wide open and again there will be quite a few teams with an eye on that if they get the luck of the draw in the early rounds. Its shaping up to be an interesting season and one we should be looking forward to and I personally hope Colville park are fully involved in it. Best of luck to all the CSAFL teams for the coming season.
  15. Wouldnt have thought so.
  16. Not so good. Wont be easy getting players in now, season not far away from kicking off.
  17. Is it true they only had 9 players on sat? The majority of the Central teams seem to be going well in pre season going with results.
  18. Very strange. Club needs a manager more than ever the now, for Robert to step down after only a couple of months from being announced is worrying for them. I hope Colville do sort things out and get back on track. In a time when Clubs r struggling it would be a travesty for the amateur game if a Club like Colville fell away.
  19. Time will tell with Colville Park, who they can steady the ship and rebuild. Eastfield & Harestanes seem to be going along nicely and St Pats look like they still have there big hitters. Most of the teams seem to have added to squads, Bannockburn & Drum Utd have added good quality.
  20. Is Robert Patterson still there?
  21. A see on twitter Rossvale JFC were meant to be playing Colville 2moro night but not happening now? Bannockburn play Dunblane SC 2moro night I believe and steins are away to wishaw. Most teams are atleast a couple of weeks in now so games will be coming thick and fast as they try to settle squads. Must say, its alarming how many teams are pulling out of friendlies!! I remember it being bad last summer but definetely an increase this year and unfortunately a few teams calling it a day aswell.
  22. Glasgow Harp used to be a real force in the Caley league and very good set up there. Cambria more of an up and coming team allthough have made huge progress winning the west and a regular in the latter stages of the big cups. Be interesting to see how both teams get on next season with the changes. Im sure Cambria will allways be close to Micks heart, hes got a nice tattoo to remind him of his success there. All the best to both Clubs in the future!!
