  1. Good to see majority of teams started back or starting this week. Looking forward to this season think gonna be very competitive, Premier League looking good and both 1st divisions also. Few teams made signings allready and sure more to follow, makes for an exciting 4/5 wks before it all starts for real.
  2. See tbh , I dont really think there are any really weak teams in 1b. Yeah 1 or 2 may not be on paper as strong as say Oban who will be manys favourites due to recent years cup runs but there going into the unknown. Even the teams who u would expect to struggle will be organised and every game will be like a cup final for them. I think the leagues are set up great, 1a people are allready saying Gartcosh and Steins will fancy there chances aswell but that no gimme. Be surprises in there too.
  3. That cud still hapen doing it that way aswell.
  4. I agree with JBAFC random is fairest way, if it was hand picked then the league could be open to a barrage from teams who are not happy with league there in, favouritism to the bigger Clubs etc. Bottom line is there are good teams in both divisions so whoever wins 1a & 1b will have earned there spot in Premier.
  5. They did that m8, Danderhall no go out next round? I wouldnt rule them out due to that result. They still have some very good players if they will all be there next season I would expect them to be in about it.
  6. Came very close last year in league and made Semis of West, if they keep there squad together and add 1 or 2 they will be a contender.
  7. Have to be Eastfield , Bannockburn , St Pats as probly 3 main contenders. Would expect they'll all recruit well over summer. Also think Colville will be fine under the new manager but alot of new players may take time.
  8. Agree with that, good side that play the right way. Think there will be a few contenders from the CSAFL this year again for the big trophies.
  9. Are u going to back them again this coming season??
  10. 1b looks a cracker!! The 3 new teams being drawn together adds to that. Havent seen them but have to think Castlemilk are going to be a decent outfit with what they have done in sunday football this season. Oban will start as favourites I would think but Bridgewater & Blantyre will fancy it aswell. Premier League looks good aswell, cant call a favourite with that, alot will depend on recruitment over next few wks. Should be a good season allround for the CSAFL.
  11. Ok m8, seen I didnt get to do it personally last night , i'll wish u all the best in the future im sure u will continue to be successfull.
  12. Again, fair enough. Not digging m8, hink maybe came across wrong way. Just asking , as far as im concerned u conduct urself really well and I was more surprised u guys didnt have a table full. Hope that clears things up?
  13. Bawsoot, ur so funny!!
  14. Fair enough, u no fancy it?
  15. It has nothing to do with it m8. It would have been nice to see you there , if you were busy then fair enough and your rite there were a few teams not there. The kit man does not account for the committee imo. For me the Scottish Cup and league winners should have been there but thats just my opinion m8.
  16. Michael, no Colville at the Player of the year awards last night. Bit disappointing from the most successfull team in amateur history? The league put on a good night and it would have be nice to see u guys there.
  17. Decent guy and manager going in there and am I right in saying theyll have the big Scottish? Maybe boys will be happy to stay.
  18. Would expect few of they boys will go junior or maybe even senior. There may be ones that are quite happy playing amateur though and wont be short of offers.
  19. Yeah great addition!! Castlemilk aswell, I would expect they will have a decent side. Step up from Sunday but very successfull season and if they carry that squad over to Sat and add could be a threat in 1st div. Bridgewater, Gartcosh Blantyre, Steins and a new look Falkirk aswell. Lots of competition throughout the association.
  20. Spot on m8. Alot of banter over the course of a season between teams and it sometimes goes too far but end of day there is a mutual respect within the amateur game and aslong as hands can be shook and people move on then there should be no hardships. Mick & Colville will move onto different pathways and next season is sure to be very interesting. How will Colville's rebuild under the new manager take shape? Can St Pats/Bannockburn or Eastfield stop the Colville domination of league titles. What of Harestanes, can they get back to the great force they once were? Drum Utd back in the top league and sure to be a force again after a great season along with Fallin, Uddy Anvil who will bring something to the league also. Campsie under new management, Drum Ams, Greenock & Wishaw all capable on there day. 2 majors from CSAFL this season will we get a repeat again next year in the big 1s? Looking forward to it!!!
  21. If John has no hard feelings about it then that should be a line drawn under it. Im sure an apology from the Club and management will have been made Move on. Last game of a fantastic season on Friday. Drum Utd and Eastfield both having excellent seasons this year shud be a cracker!!
  22. I take it there still goin to be in Premier League?
  23. Yeah fair play to the Caley guys for changing and trying something new. The race for promotion shud be exciting. You will probly find this will become a league of 2 halves tho. Doune , kilsyth , Milton, finnart & Cambusbarron will all be looking to get back into Premier asap. Cup runs may affect the eventual outcome of this league. Al go for Kilsyth to win it, Doune runners up.
  24. All the very best Mick.
