  1. Doubt theyve got worse as last season they won promotion to the Northern Premier League - but take your point about a later start to their new season.
  2. Duly amended on the Sons Archive. Thanks for pointing it out to me. No worries. The Sons Archive is an awesome website for club history enthusiasts like myself. Would appreciate contact with yourself and the other Sons Archive guys as I have a number of queries on my own records.
  3. Apologies - can't count - you are quite correct.
  4. Just sad archive collectors like myself lol.
  5. I think possibly a 6 point lead was the previous best - at the end of December 1890 - ahead of Rangers, when we eventually shared the title. The following season 1891-92 is probably the best for consecutive wins - 12 from October 1891 to April 1892 - and where we retained the league title.
  6. We won 9 consecutive games in 71/72. The club record for consecutive victories is 15 which was set in 1905/06. As for being 8 points clear, I have no idea. Sorry mate - have to correct you there -some archive sites (including the Sons Archive) quote the 2nd December 1905 game against Dykehead as a 3-2 win - whereas it was in fact a 2-3 loss. So only 8 consecutive wins was the best that season.
  7. And yes it was Craig Brittain' s first season as a player - signed from Ashfield.
  8. Actually it was Ian Wallace's first full season in charge.
  9. Season 1997-98 was the league 'wooden spoon' year.
  10. A supporter for over 50 years and certainly have seen plenty of ups and downs - but as season's go, while not the worst in my opinion, it would have to slot in between 45 and 50!
  11. The latest data from the GMC states "New analysis published today shows lateral flow tests (LFD) to have a specificity of at least 99.9% when used to test in the community and could be as high as 99.97%." Somehow I think the possibility of throwing the season into chaos is nowhere close to reality.
  12. Ok - it is not mandatory but most teachers are testing before attending school. And the lateral flow might be less accurate - but surely its better than what we are witnessing in situations like last night.
  13. It seems to be an unbelievable mess to have got into particularly with the testing procedures that we now have available. For example teachers are required to self test prior to attending school - and their results are know within 30 minutes. From what I understand reliance was placed on tests done on Saturday for a match taking place 4 days later?
  14. Great start for the boys this season. 2004 is the last time we began a league campaign with two wins - so when was the last time we had three consecutive league wins at the start of a season. Now my earliest memories of Dumbarton seasons go back to the Kenny Wilson years at the start of the 70's - but according to my records you have to go back to the 1959-60 season when Dumbarton actually began with 4 wins on the trot in the league. Fingers crossed for a repeat - mon the sons!
