From ESPN - Charles Green's latest buffonish utterings. I particularly like how they are playing in Division three because that is where their fans wanted them to be playing! And as said earlier on twitter - he must have found the secret to eternal life! "I said I won't leave until we see Champions Lg music being played at Ibrox" Rangers chief executive Charles Green has claimed he would rather quit the club than return to the Scottish Premier League. In an interview with talkSPORT, Green has underlined his belief that Scottish football is "a mess" in drastic need of restructuring and claimed Scottish Football Association chiefs already have plans underway to revamp the domestic game. Green was part of the Sevco consortium which took over the Glasgow giants this summer and is overseeing the rebuilding of the club following their relegation down to the fourth tier of Scottish football. He believes that the way the club's financial crisis was handled has made it impossible for Rangers to return to the Scottish Premier League under his charge. He said: "The chief executive of the SFA, Stewart Regan, has said there will have to be some restructuring in Scottish football. It's no secret the SPL have been working on a plan and I understand the Football League have got their vision for change in Scottish football. It has to change because it's in a mess. "It's really difficult for me to take seriously the SPL re-structure. They threw us out of the league and are now pursuing title stripping, and for us to sit down and think that after all that has come to fruition that I will say 'OK, everything's forgotten', you're in cloud cuckoo land. I don't forgive and forget. "While I'm chief executive, Rangers will not play in the Scottish Premier League. [if that situation arose], I would go out to the fans, as we did earlier in the year, when they were consulted as to what division they wanted to play in. They wanted to play in the Third Division and we as investors listened to them and were happy to do that. "And we would go back to them again. But my position wouldn't have changed. If they wanted to go back into the SPL, then fine. But I won't be chief executive." Adding to his assertion that Scottish football is in need of restructuring, Green claimed that a European League will be in place within the next five to ten years. "I believe there will be major restructuring," he added. "I'm convinced there will be a European League, maybe not in the next year or two, but in the next five or ten years. "If you look at the valuations, Manchester United are valued on the New York Stock Market at £1.2 billion. Everton are up for sale at around £300-400 million. So as great as these clubs are, how can they be valued at those amounts and Rangers at only £30 million? It's inconceivable that those values will remain. "I got into trouble recently for saying that Aston Villa, and a number of other clubs, make money because they are IN the Premier League, but they are not the drivers of that wealth and value. "The reality is fans want to see the top teams play each other. They want to see Bayern Munich play Barcelona, or Real Madrid play Manchester United, and it's those games that will drive the future of football."

Those two interviews, with Green and McCoist, have absolutely sickened me, totally sickened and disgusted me.

So - still bloody cheating! McLean and Ferguson doing the only decent bit of commentary the whole night and admitting that the given attendance of 38,000 odd is just nonsense! Rangers obviously manipulating the figures to pocket the extra cash from about 10,000 more fans!! 10,000 people, at what, £15 a head someone said? £150,000 - East Fife would get half of that. What would £75,000 do for a club like East Fife? Utter contemptible cheats. Plus ca change......

I really hoped my earlier rant would have eased my blood pressure slightly: I should have known better than to listen to the match commentary for the East Fife game!! My God, could the comments from McLean and Ferguson (not to mention Chic!!) be any more sycophantic and drooling??!! They are absolutely salivating at how amazing Rangers are being, just how good they are, how it is clearly "men against boys" (one of them actually just said that!) Of course they should be better than East Fife!! They are spending a bloody fortune on players that can not sustainably afford!! Has no one learned any lessons from this whole sorry mess? Honest to God, the standard of remarks from the commentary team is just nauseating. Pure succulent lamb.

AAAARRRGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Right, I have tried to be fairly level headed and rational and contribute concisely and sensibly to these pages whenever I felt I had something worth contributing. And that is why I stayed away from the keyboard yesterday: I was so, so raging when I heard the radio pumping out all that garbage from Murray, McCoist, McLeish and every other Rangers apologist, about how they did not accept anything wrong had been done, how no one can strip them of titles, only punishments they accept will be considered etc, etc, bloody etc!!!! But today has tipped me over the edge. I am sick bloody fed up of this club riding roughshod over every sense of fairness and justice; ignoring the consequences and sanctions arising from their years of mismanagement, cheating and possibly criminal, probably negligent actions. Tell me how, someone, anyone, tell me how they can possibly justify signing all these players on ridiculous wages for the third division? And not only that, tell me how and why they should be allowed to when they still owe tens of millions of pounds to God knows how many individuals and businesses and football clubs!! It is bad enough all these other poor companies having been shafted by them, but what about all the football clubs still being owed money? How can McCoist be allowed to bring in players when they are still owe money to other clubs? I thought all those debts had to be paid? Have they been? And what is the point of this transfer embargo? If it doesn't start til the end of the month, then every other club in the country has one as well!! Nobody else can sign between September and January, what punishment is that to Rangers!! Why on earth was the transfer ban not instigated from the date the SFA panel or whatever it was handed out the punishment? Rangers and the vast majority of their fans are kidding themselves they are the victims in this whole shoddy saga. The reality is they have and continue to be treated with kid gloves and favorably by countless individuals in the media, whole media organisations and many of the powers that be in football. I have always treated both sides of the horrible divide in Scottish football with equal ambivalence; I really couldn't give a monkeys about either of them. I support Forfar and always have and always will. But they way Rangers have acted and been treated - and I have no doubts whatsoever Celtic would have been treated every bit as differently from any other club in Scotland had the shoe been on the other foot - has left me totally sickened and totally despising everything that the former Rangers did represent and continue to do so. Wait a minute - I have heard this before, but I was sure, positive we did the right thing and said no to the cheating gits being in the first division! Have I totally missed what happened? Did Forfar vote yes to letting them in the first division??!!

I thought Richard Gordon did ok, tried to soften him up to begin with then really tried to put the boot in, You could tell by the tone of his voice, he was hacked off at Doncaster prevaricating and giving non answers. I see Alex Thomson is saying that a significant majority of the SFL board are pressing for Division 1 entry. I am sickened by this. Surely, those clubs with representatives on the SFL board should not be allowed to vote? I am particularly hacked off cause two of the Angus clubs, Brechin and Arbroath, are represented there - and even more so when I see whose these representatives are . Can any of the Brechin or Arbroath fans I have seen posting tell me if they have contacted the clubs to voice their dissent at Division 1 and if they have had any response?

I have just mailed this to the Stenny director. It won't do much good I am sure, but I was raging and needed to do something. Dear Mr Darroch,I am writing to express my extreme disappointment in your short-sighted and frankly disgraceful decision to vote to allow the new Rangers football club direct entry into the Scottish first division next season. By your and your fellow directors' decision, you have killed any idea that football in this country remains a sport played out between member clubs on a level playing field. What is the point in continuing with this game, one that I have no doubt you love as much as myself. The scaremongering, lies, deceit and bullying that SFL clubs have been placed under by the footballing authorities in the country, in collusion with the mainstream media, has been nothing short of a disgrace and I am extremely saddened you have allowed your club to be persuaded by this parcel of rogues. On the final day of last season, my son and I enjoyed an excellent day out at your club as we supported our team, Forfar Athletic. The result that day obviously suited us but your club too benefited from our combined entrance money, the souvenirs and the refreshments we purchased before and during the match. This was not the first time we have made the trip together and for myself in particular, there have been numerous visits throughout the years I have supported Forfar. These trips will mow be a thing of the past. Neither myself nor my son will ever visit your ground again in light of your decision to throw all notion of sporting integrity in Scotland out the window. I am sure you will not lose much sleep at the thought of missing out on £19 admission money, twice a season, plus a few more pounds on souvenirs and refreshments. However, you will also be missing out on this for the rest of my days I am able to continue supporting Forfar = hopefully another 40 years or so, 60 for my son. It starts to add up then, Mr Darroch. And the real point is I am just one person. my son a second. There will be a third and fourth and dozens others from Forfar Athletic alone. And more from supporters of Brechin City, Arbroath, Queen of the South, East Fife, Dumbarton and the other teams in our division. This season, next season and many, many more after. Supporters have long memories; fans from teams in other divisions will also boycott your club if they draw you in cup competitions. How would you feel as a supporter of Stenhousemuir if the SFA or the SFL came to you and told you on day one of the season: "It doesn't really matter what the score is today, because we have already decided that at the end of the campaign, Queen of the South are going to be promoted. They are a bigger club than yours, they have more fans so they are more important". Because that is what the powers that be in Scottish football are attempting to do at the moment and they will succeed with your support. But it is not too late. Fans of every other team in Scotland are pledging to stand by teams that stand strong themselves. I will make the return to Ochilview twice this season, I will spend extra in your shops. But only if you reverse this morally wrong and unjust decision and vote against a new Rangers being allowed to circumvent all the rules that your club and my club would have to live by. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope, I truly hope, that you do the right thing for the good of the game in Scotland. Laughing at the guy phoning in criticising Falkirk, East Stirling and Stenhousemuir for daring to exist within "couple" of miles from each other! Then Hugh Keevins says that clubs will fold through natural wastage......eh, wait a minute, it is not these clubs causing the problems! It is like all the folk slagging off the four Angus clubs - we all budget and live within our means! Try it Rangers' apologists!! It is not our clubs that will disappear!!

I am just listening to the Radio Scotland sportsound just now - absolutely fantastic from Stuart Cosgrove! He is ripping Traynor apart, showing him to be a complete Muppet and him and Jim Spence are doing a fantastic job of showing the west coast media shambles that has dragged on for far too long!

What the hell is McCoist doing at Hampden?! What has it got to do with him!

I am finding the current situation just so depressing. The connivance of the tabloids in ensuring Rangers get into the first division to protect the SPL's corrupt, ridiculous TV deals - in a league based not on football results, but ensuring two teams are always there - would be laughable if it were not actually happening. This is not an SFL problem, but our clubs are being bullied and threatened and lied to by the SPL as they wriggle off the hook. Are they really going to postpone a decision to see what the SFL do?? I mean come on!! This is one of your teams! This club must start again at the bottom of the football tree - it has to be third division or else what is the point of football in Scotland? And no, this is not about vested interests for my club. I am really hoping we don't meet them soon! The signings we have made I have high hopes of us grabbing promotion this season! So all going well, Forfar get promoted to division 1, Rangers can win the third (if they are able), followed by the second (if other teams have no problem with that, of course) and Forfar will probably be on way back down by then so will miss them! Of course, we could also miss them by getting relegated this season as they win the third division at a canter (that is the plan, isn't it, for them?) Whatever scenario, I am sure the lesson for everyone is not to plan the existence of your football club round games against Rangers (or Celtic)

Good points Hibbee - but what I don't get is what is the SFL's angle? The way this is being presented is that it is coming from the SFL - are they being blackmailed and threatened by the SPL? Why are they not being strong enough to stand up to them? That presentation was just a one sided rant! The part that got me most was the exclamation mark ! after they said an instant cash injection to all the clubs (!) So do the powers at the SFL really want this too?

Thanks Craigkillie. I was being a bit disingenuous as I can understand how they can do it, but what gets me raging is why they are allowed to be doing this! Good analogy - though certain members of the deceased Rangers team would be done under trade description act I am sure if employed as "footballers"!
