  1. sounds like they could be bought for 1 or 2 pieces of silver!

Not even as many as 40! (See my rage induced biblical error yesterday!)

Yup, that is what I am worried about!

However, we have just laid our new all weather surface and that should have stabalised finances this year (fewer postponements, loss of sponsorship etc) so I am hoping that they would need to accept this disgraceful deal mad.gif

  2. Away to try and catch up on 30 odd pages but this has just been announced from Forfar Athletic. Don't know that it makes their position clear but at least communicating with fans.

The Board of Directors at Forfar Athletic Football club will be making no public comment on the current crisis in Scottish Football brought about by the liquidation of Rangers FC and the likely rejection of the Newco's application to remain in the SPL, prior to a meeting of SFL club's at Hampden Park on Tuesday of next week."

The club's Chairman and Secretary will attend this meeting with an open mind on the subject, will listen and enter into the discussions and no doubt arguments that will ensue on the day. They will then report back to their fellow Directors before the club make any decision on motions which will be put to an extraordinary and undoubtedly historic general meeting of the Scottish Football League to be held later in July.

As they have always done throughout recent history, Forfar Athletic officials will at all times give serious consideration in any deliberations on what is the best course of action going forward for the Scottish footballing family as a whole and of course the protection and future of Forfar Athletic Football Club will be paramount.

  3. OK I think I have to hold my hands up.....I have been scouring everywhere for something about Rooney and I think it is bollocks. You are right, folk are tweeting that "performance enhancing rug" joke....I seriously can't believe the BBC News anchorman started his link with the reporter saying "reports are coming in from our news team that Rooney has tested positive for a performance enhancing rug"........How irresponsible is that!!?? haha That is exactly how rumours start!!! Especially cause I splashed it all over twitter straight away!!!

Sorry folks, mea culpa....(are you listening at Ibrox? That wasn't hard!)

  4. They don't need anything......except a league to play in.........

Absolutely nothing, not a fucking thing from these rat b*****ds

Even if they offered us a 10 point head start id tell them to take a flying f**k to themselves

We are Rangers, we dont need anyone or anything to be the worlds most successful club, the SPL should very well remember that.

  5. I have to say that I am having totally mixed feelings at the moment as to what shall happen.

I have had the feeling over last couple of days that quite a few journalists and sections of the media are starting to realise that Rangers (or whatever guise they wish to pretend they inhabit) are just too toxic and poisoned to allow to escape any form of sanction. Guys like Jim Spence are obviously outwith the west coast cartel and have fairly reflected the strength of feeling among supporters to see Rangers dealt with appropriately.

But even Michael Grant in the Herald today wrote about how people are sick of Rangers moaning without saying "sorry" and recognised that there have been NO punishments so far other than a 10 points deduction for going into administration - and even that was meaningless as they still finished second!

I was just beginning to hope that the tide was turning in the media, that some journalists were recognising that fans of other clubs WILL walk away if the Newco is admitted to the SPL, if they aren't made to start at the bottom tier (the 1st division option is a joke btw - why should they be allowed in ahead of other SFL clubs?) and that there was recognition that the Sky threats were just scaremongering.

However, all this has been tempered somewhat with the feeling that SPL chairman will now bottle it and ignore the wishes of their fans. I think the Motherwell statement is setting their supporters up for a yes vote and trying to justify it in advance.

This is just my thoughts at the moment on the situation and of course, I could be misreading both aspects!

  6. How dare Jim Traynor accuse those fans who want to see Rangers taken down a peg are two of dispaying "mock outrage"?

I don't support an SPL team and even I feel outraged. Obviously, apart from beating us a couple of times in Cup matches, they have never done us any direct harm. Indeed, we gained from the home games being televised.

BUT this has nothing to do with what they have done to my team. It has to do with what they have done to my sport. Football is and always has been my favourite sport, and I have felt pride (when Scotland beat France home and away, when my lowly team have beaten the likes of St Mirren or Motherwell in cup ties), disbelief (Levein's tactics against the Czech Republic, some of Dick Campbell's signings), sadness (Forfar being relegated, Scotland's inability to get through group stages or latterly even to qualify) but I have never felt the level of "outrage" that I feel now towards certain people within the sport.

I'm angry with Rangers for bringing the game into disrepute - for their arrogance, lack of humility and dignity, for their inability to accept the reason why supporters of clubs across the country hate them. They (and to a slightly lesser extent) Celtic have slowly bled the game of any semblance of competitiveness, fair play and equality of opportunity over the last 30 years. Rangers have operated outwith their means to "cheat" the rest of Scottish football out of ever having a chance of competing with them on an even playing field. I am not talking about my club here by the way. Despite the achievements of my team in the 80s, we are never likely to grace the SPL unless it is extended to 18 teams, and even then we'd occasionally flit around the bottom for a season or two before being relegated. I am talking about clubs like Dundee, Airdrie, Partick, Falkirk etc who have been forced to bankrupt themselves by playing by the rules while Rangers signed players on dual contracts or "stole" the cream of Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen etc and left them sitting around on the bench, destroying the career of some players and certainly harming my beloved Scotland team as promising players didn't get the opportunity to develop their game.

I am angry with gloryhunting Rangers fans - not those born or brought up in Ibrox like my brother in law or my best friend (I feel sorry for them). But the ignornat bigots who post on RM, the WATP brigade, the great unwashed who use their affiliation to a football team as a "justifiable" reason for looking down on the rest of us.

I am angry with the game's administartors for not getting their finger out and doing something about it. The SFA showed some teeth with their sanctions; it is now time for the SPL and the SFL to do the same and refuse Rangers entry to either of their leagues. In an ideal world, the SPL would fold and come back under the auspices of the SFL, but...

I am angry with the so-called journalists who have kept Rangers fans spirits up with stories of signing Black, Gatusso, Petrov while the club are not even in a postion to outbid us for a third-rate SPL player. I am angry that so-called reporters have actually become repeaters, only printing stuff that has been fed to them by Old Firm PR people. Traynor's job is to find out the truth and expose it to the nation, not just feed from the scraps sent to him by Ibrox and Celtic Park. The same goes for Keevins, Young, Guidi, etc. The only radio reporter I trust is Jim Spence.

I am angry with Green for further bringing the game into disrepute, for trying to blame everyone else because he was incapable of doing any homework or research on the plight of Rangers or on HMRC's likelihood of accepting a CVA. His incoherent, ill-informed rants are cringeworthy, and I can't believe that any businessman worth his salt would believe a word that anyone from Duff and Phelps has told him.

As I said, I don't even support an SPL club. I can't imagine the outrage some of you are feeling, but I'm sure none of it falls under the heading of "MOCK outrage".

A fellow Loon eloquently commenting on everything I have felt about this whole sorry saga. Well done

  7. Aye, but being an A*r fan, you should know that you can't have everything (or win anything ;))

Home wins against the likes of Forfar used to be an excuse for celebration, and they may be again. That's what following your real team means, and I think we all agree. Maybes the currants will get used to it, but I won't be holding my breath...

That's assuming they ever GET to play Forfar....

BTW, not taking the piss out of Forfar, any one of their fans is worth twenty glory-hunting bigots who will never know the joys of starting a season thinking "wonder who's gonna win the league/cup/anything this season - cos it wullnae be us". We've all been there, lads and lassies, and we'll all be there again. That's what makes us FOOTBALL fans.

Knowing our luck we will get relegated and miss them when they run away with the third division! Cause that is what will happen of course, according to all the Rangers fans! Even the U 12s or whatever age group they are allowed to play will sweep aside all the diddy teams in the lower leagues!

Ahh, the 80s! Scottish Cup semi against Rangers, seconds away from beating Dundee United in the middle of their double wins over Barcelona! And did you know white rose, we we just one win away from promotion to the premier league in about 86! You finished just above us on goal difference on last day of season.

  8. OK - 1354 pages and I am now raging enough to finally post! I can't believe this decision from the Court of Session - whatever happened to the part the SFA and appeals tribunal quoted about "any other sanctions they thought fit" (or similar wording)? Surely that covers the transfer embargo?

I am actually raging about this - I have had far more eloquent thoughts to post for weeks now but my actual anger over this has made me just a raging wreck!
