I'd take Meekings if he can prove his fitness. Naismith, Kelly, Kenny and even Fraser are still full backs who can be converted to centre halves, even if Fraser looks impressive there and Van der Weg is the size of a tank.

I didn't make the game last night due to illness, but I heard Kelly had a tough time against Cadden?
Motherwell sound much improved from last season.

According to reports he handed a transfer request in.
A few of my Caley supporting mates have absolutely lost it.

the only impact McSwegan will have caused was his arse hitting the physio room table.

Usual appalling patter from Thompson and Stewart.

Today's game showed at the minute we work much better with three in the middle rather than two. Got overrun when we switched to a back four.

Sibbald would be worth a punt, but a six figure fee would be too much for me. He's still untested in the top flight.

They've got a busy midfield, but most of them are slighter players. They've got Marvin Bartley too, who's similar to Draper in breaking stuff up, but is smaller and far more mobile.

A wage freed up, at least. Draper?

With our current non-existent centre midfield at times, I'd worry about putting Vigurs in there. He's not known for his ability to cover every blade of grass in 90 minutes.

I'd play Midge cutting in. He's not the pace (and never had) had enough speed to burn past full backs, so him cutting in trying to threads balls for a striker makes sense to me.

We're through, unbeaten. We didn't top the group but I don't care, we've got a chance against anyone on the day (maybe Celtic aside).

Well, Woods away. I'm not surprised.

I wouldn't ever say he was being squeezed out - I just think everyone expected his agent to be able to manufacture a deal. Nobody bit, so he stayed, leading to surplus of centre backs.
Davies is comfortably the best centre half ever to play for County. It's not even close. I liked it best when ICT targeted him in the air, for some unknown reason.Almost like Foran didn't have a plan B...
I wouldn't mind seeing Meekings here, but I think that ship has sailed, club don't seem that interested in him so far, at least.

Confirmation on Jay:
Decent trier but god, he was prone to terrible lapses in concentration.

I can see it.

Tom Grivosti added to the developmental squad.

I'd think Schalk/McKay/Mikkelsen will be the main three, with Curran used carefully with his ongoing injury problems. Morrison might get farmed out on loan- I'd like to see if he can cut it in the second tier for a season.

Mikkelsen, McKay, Schalk and Curran are a decent foursome to use up front with Dow giving support. I'm fairly happy with that.

Tich McCooey it is.
If only Barbazza was still on the go, we'd get a few Saturday night shout outs by the Tichmaster.

I don't think he ever played for our first team, so I don't think we can be much help.

Last night showed Lindsay and Chow are not an effective pairing in central midfield, too easily bossed around and outnumbered by Swanson coming in, making it easy for Hibs to control possession. Thankfully, Davies and Fraser were absolutely immense and look a right good centre half pairing.

I've had enough of keepers at County who can't kick a football more than ten yards.
