Nonsense shouldn't even have been a penalty the ball bounced up off his foot and hit his arm NOT a penalty if am reading the rules correct....

That is the rule hits your foot then hand not a pen think the ref has to read the rule book .

Watched the Ayo red card many teams never a red card the ref got many things wrong on Saturday you don't have a chance when the ref is so much against you

Not very confident about this now. I really hope we are appealing Ayo's red and he is available but we'll be without McCabe after his stupidity. Hopefully Dickson can step up after a dodgy debut as I expect he'll feature. Could do with Fitzpatrick looking even remotely like he has a chance at English Championship level as we really need him to start showing us anything.

Even 10 vs 11 we were just as good as Alloa so we are capable of getting something here. With any luck MacPherson will have Morton playing like us during his time.

Hopefully Dundee and Raith can do us a favour before Saturday as well.

We have to get back to stop giving cheap goals away .

We are far to open need to get back to defending not just everyone flying forward

Going to be very difficult to get anything with the players we have available going to be a makeshift very young midfield

Mebude still OK for Morton game then we will find out what happens with him, Think Mckee could be back next week, automatic 2 game ban for Obileye & Mccabe club just need to exept that and dig in for a result at Morton, The Hearts game away was never going to be easy anyway so anything anytime there is a bonus. The Hibs game in Scottish cup comes along at the right time the minimum of Obileye & Mccabe would be back for that and by the time the league games start again the following weekend hopefully we will have more players available for the last 5 games.

Surely Queens will appeal the Ayo red card why just except a very poor decision .

Have watched it many times it is a booking nothing more .

Would the appeal be fast tracked and heard this week lose appeal another game added to the ban that seems unfair to me always thought you only lose the money

We should try and get another loan signing in someone with experience  we can't expect our young players to carry us through.

It will be a very young makeshift midfield  the last thing you want going to Morton .

We can forget the playoffs they went when Jones got injured but staying in the Championship and out of the relegation playoffs has to be our aim going to be very difficult with our now depleted squad .

Must win for us. Hopefully it won't take that many and we'll get away with fewer if it comes to it, but you'd think 32 points would guarantee survival this season while 30 should hopefuly be enough. This is one of the games we need to win if we're going to hit that, especially if we want to give ourselves a cushion going into the final two games v Alloa & Arbroath; f**k going up to Arbroath needing a win on the last day. Home wins are essential now.

Strapp in for McGinty is an obvious change if he's fit. I actually don't know what I'd do now in central midfield if Jacobs is back, it's good to have a positive selection dilemma about the merits of four good players for three positions rather than having to debate the least bad options like everywhere else in the park.

Queens will not have options be lucky to get 11 players available bench will be full of kids.

Today's result was not good but Morton,  Ayr and Arbroath losing too takes a bit of sting out of it.

More of a worry today was how easily we are conceding goals again in saying that we had no chance when the ref is that bad ..

Surely we will appeal  the Ayo red card no way was that a red

  6. What the hell is the ref thinking about there very poor decision never a  sending off .

Game changing in fact season changing when Sheilds hits  the post 3-1 game over but Alloa go straight up the park score again then comes the crazy decision to send Ayo off Alloa favourites now to go on and win the game .

The only positive is that we’ll definitely have Dapo for the next 2 games. Jones will learn the extent of his injury today, let’s pray it’s not as bad as first feared.

Did not look good on Saturday will not be surprised if he is out for the season .

Have we used all our loans now no way we could get a replacement for Jones or Dapo

A massive massive long shot but if Morton lose their next 3 and we win our next 2 (including vs Morton obviously) it would put us 14 points clear of 9th with 18 pts available. Point being the hearing date is actually not too bad for us and we could almost be out of the woods before Dapo's ban comes in.

Have you a plan B after Morton winning tonight at Inverness the league is very tight everyone seems to be picking up points Queens nowhere near safe  my worry is we will be without Jones and Dapo for the run in 2 key players especially Jones he will be a massive loss

Presuming it's 7 games, and we don't get passed Hibs in the cup, he would still be available for the playoffs should we make them. However, missing both him and Jones is a big blow.

Massive blow missing both players Dapo it was only a matter of time before his ban at least we have him for our next 2 games will be surprised if we see Jones play again.

Have we used all our loans no way we could get a replacement for Jones or Dapo

In other news Gary Naysmith is the new manager of Edinburgh City signed a 3 year deal good luck to him .

I'd like to think that the person knows they've got it by tonight, and can watch our game and start making plans for Saturday. Players, coaches etc might all get told tomorrow morning who's got it via video chat, then it can be made public? I really don't have a scooby. I'm just enjoying the wild speculation at the moment.

David Hopkin is the obvious choice ticks all the boxes would be amazed if he did not get the job .

Only from some Thistle fan on PnB.

He isn't featuring much certainly and surely can't be happy with that given his travelling. McCall is the manager who kick-started his career and he stays in Glasgow a lot of the time so it wouldn't be the strangest thing to happen.

Having said that I wouldn't be impressed if we let a quality player go out on loan right now. We're certainly not out of the relegation woods yet.

No chance of it happening Dobbie still has a lot to offer us .

With Jones out what a major blow that is could be the difference of getting in the playoffs or not  I would play Dapo out wide go with Dobbie and Shields go 4-4-2 .

Yep totally agree. I think in Jones we have somehow landed ourselves a special talent. I have loved Johnston's style of play for the most part since he has been here in both spells. His first spell his achievement was downplayed big time. We still had some decent teams to beat such as Ayr United and a Dick Campbell coached Forfar in the 3rd tier. Not many teams have won that league with the style we did under him, apart from his Dunfermline. His spell in the championship with The Pars was average. He arrived to us for his second spell and immediately saved the day from turning us from utter dross relegation fodder to a team that succesfully stayed up through the playoffs. He then imo started the next season pretty well. El Bakh, Dobbie and Hamilton was an exciting frontline, whilst we had a solid spine with McCrorie and Brownlie. Sdly we lost our 3 best players in January and from then till march it was dreadful. We started this season dreadfully too with a whole new squad and there was a feeling it was down to Aj rather than this young group of players finding their feet. We have done things totally different this season signing some of the best young players from Rangers, whilst looking down south for players. We now play with real pace and skill and are great to watch. So aside from a bad 3 months at the end of last season and a bad start this season Johnston has for me been a big success here. Under Naysmith I never once felt the hope Im feeling now.

Your post is spot on my worry is we will be back to square one again the summer all our best players will be off to bigger and better things.

If only we could up the wages really go for it next season try and really keep the likes of Ayo and Shields get the Rangers boys back on loan and somehow persuade Boro that Jones could do with another loan with us if only it was that easy don't think any of the above will happen .

AJ's recruitment although not perfect, starting from the square root of bugger all deserves praise given the likely budget constraints he would have been set. Adding the pacey Jones and Dapo and also Breen for the back line to allow big Ayo to move into midfield was an excellent piece of business in January and really changed the team's outlook.

The renaissance of Gibson has been a wonderful bonus.

If we hadn't lost Jones to injury I really think this side would have pushed the Fife teams for second place, despite their games in hand.

As it is, even without the classy Jones we must be capable of giving the Dees a battle for fourth.

At long last a time to feel positive - what could possibly go wrong now? 😏

AJ deserves a new contract with our budget he has done a great job never thought he had it in him but he had proved me wrong .Has made some great signings the majority I would try and keep for next season which will be very difficult..

Has really used the loan market very well building a great relationship with Rangers.

The signing of Jones what a player yet to see a better wide player in the Championship he is going to be a massive loss for us

Massive game for both sides this one, arguably more for Alloa. If we win here it puts us 16 points clear of Alloa with 21 left to play for. I'd be confident of avoiding 10th spot if we get 3 points on Saturday.

We have a pretty dodgy record against them so their league position matters not a jot. Cameron has 4 goals in the last 5 games so he's the obvious threat. I assume Trouten misses this game?

I expect Fitzpatrick will start in place of Jones and Dapo has to start again. Jones will be a massive loss and hopefully Fitzpatrick steps up to the plate.

Play like the last hour of Saturday and we should get the win but given our last defeat was against Alloa I'm not overly confident of 3 points.

Alloa always give us problems they sit in deep hit us on the break they now have Cameron to hold the ball up and get them goals .

We will miss Jones he is a level above anything in the Championship huge loss him being out could cost us a play off place .

Play Dapo out wide go with Dobbie and Sheilds up top go 4-4-2

Strange one for me. That takes our tally of CM to 9 (if you include Ayo, which I am given he's been playing there during our most successful period). Is someone on their way out or is someone's injury a season ender? It says he can play wide as well (not sure how reliable that is though) so I'm just wondering/expecting Dapo to be on the end of a lengthy ban and they've given us a player in exchange.

We'll be getting called The Rangers Reserves soon. I despise the club but I'm glad we seem to have a good relationship with them in regards to us receiving their youngsters, I have to admit.

Don't care what we get called if we win games of football that is all I am bothered about .

We will hopefully build on this relationship with Rangers they send us good young players we develop them.

We have a few injuries in centre midfield Dickson will hopefully be good cover for what we have just now

I thought Rooney had great potential and should have been kept at Palmerston if possible.

Rooney was offered a new contract but had a better offer from Inverness .

This is always our problem we are at the bottom end of full time wages any player who does well for us usually gets a better offer elsewhere this will happen again at the end of the season .

Mebude for Joseph. Otherwise, as is please. Hopefully Shields is fit enough for the bench, but absolutely no need to rush him back.

Why no need to rush him back ?

Shields is our best forward if he trains this week then get him in the team

We have just won at Inverness and Dundee but Arbroath will be our most difficult away game they are in really good form always very well organised and have added some very good loan signing in Jan.

I'm not sure why you would assume it generates a fair amount of money. Other than Heston Rovers as tenants, it's barely rented. Far bigger advantage in normal (non Covid) conditions is the relative certainty games are on and the fact that our reserves and youths can play / train on it with much reduced pitch hire costs elsewhere. It also provided us with a Covid secure training base for almost three months at the start of the season before Hamilton re-opened without the knock on effect of turning our pitch into a quagmire like Morton's is as a result.

What would be the alternative to "sticking with it" as a matter of interest?

Surely you would want a good grass pitch like we had before  upgrade King George with a new 3 G pitch have Heston reserves and young boys train on it .

Okay we don't have as many games off with a 3 G pitch but is that a good enough reason to keep it give me any grass pitch rather than 3 G
