Pretty sure he played RB against us in the second half in the last game of the season and was solid.

That will be full-back cover sorted then. If either Milne or McMillan get injured then he’ll play with McKenzie covering if both are injured.

Substitutions killed us. Dowds in particular was terrible, letting Watson who had spent 70 minutes being outpaced by Graham jog passed him in the build up to the second.
Raith had a a few good chances but we should’ve had that wrapped up comfortably.

Euan Murray is 1/2 to score anytime with bet365. Sounds like some match-fixing is going on.

Wouldn’t be keen on Mulgrew going on rumours of chucking his toys at the pram at Dundee United but given we’re short on defenders and coaches it would make sense.

At the end of last season I’d probably have been content with re-signing Donnelly as a squad player but that was before we signed up Lyons/Polworth and kept a hold of McInroy. We’ve essentially just swapped Power for Magennis and went with it again.
We’ve definitely improved other positions, on paper, but badly need at least one more option upfront.
Not anymore. Joined us on-loan for the season. What can we expect from and Alston?0 -

We would have 6 centre mids with McInroy’s addition so I highly doubt we’ll be signing another one.
Agree with that, I can’t see us signing another CM. Although, I do think we’re missing someone to break up play. I thought Shaun Byrne would be ideal for that but we need to now prioritise getting some defenders in and also another wide player.
Edit: we would have 7 CMs: Bannigan, Stanway, Lyon, Robinson, Williamson, Alston, McInroy

How are Raith likely to line up?

New CEO confirmed: Chris Ross, seems to have held the same job at Stevenage and Morton.

The only way is up, Peterhead always a tough away day, but need to better.
no doubt the everyone’s great brigade will jump on my back for this, but hopefully a few signings are on there way. If no, no matter how good Doolin is, we are in trouble.
Still 3 weeks away from the league games starting. We’ll be fine.

Not the most exciting of signings but we need midfielders and he should be fine for this level.

Kerr had a good game. Wasn’t particularly impressed by #6. #7 looked decent and scored after great through by Lyon. East looked a bit shaky. Would say they’re all worth at least another look.

Saw someone say that number 6 could be Shaun McWilliams from Northampton
Looks nothing like him.

Billy was the tanned one no 6 I think went down in second half , injured his knee a bit as heard Tam telling Geordie to get him off as he was toiling
wee bit anoraking here but
could the no 6 have been Billy Owens just released by Partick Thistle ?
Definitely is going by the photos. He can play RB and CM. He was very highly-rated a few years but I think the covid delays seemed to hamper his development.

That’s Fitzpatrick.

Is Lee Hodson really bad?
He’s not bad but he’s not good either. Offers absolutely nothing going forward as a full-back but he’s decent enough defensively. He was actually better in midfield than full-back but even then he wasn’t particularly good.

One of the most recent followers of the club’s Instagram is Josh Kerr, ex-Airdrie and Bohemians. Make of that what you want.

There are probably about half a dozen in our squad who fall into that category - Shields being an obvious one given he was bounced out on loan to QP last season and has generally had a fairly shite time at Fir Park.
Barry Maguire and Robbie Mahon were also loaned out but are still under contract while you also have guys like Bevis Mugabi and Ricki Lamie who went from regular first team starters under previous managers to bench players when Kettlewell came in.
Kettlewell’s inherited a fairly large squad with an amount of budget tied up in contracted players who didn’t get minutes for whatever reason.
There are a few of our squad who’d be a good fit for Thistle tbh.
Would absolutely take Lamie and/or Mugabi but reckon they would be outwith our budget.
Looking at Premiership clubs who have players under contract but didn’t play much last season, there’s some decent players: Kerr McInroy, Jay Henderson, Cammy McPherson, Cammy Ballantyne.

Sounds like we’ve offered contacts to some other under contract players and are in for players who currently are contracted elsewhere.

Lyon’s looked a great prospect a few years ago so okay with keeping him on. Surprised at a 2 year deal though.

Bannigan also extends his contract, another 2 years.
That gives us a fairly decent looking but threadbare team so far.

The 3 of them leaving was expected but it’s still a kick in the stones, especially if they end up at other teams within this league. Whilst Holt and Docherty aren’t spectacular, they’re both very good at this level. Turner had been hit and miss until Doolan came in but he’s shown what he’s capable of since them and been tremendous. Replacing those 3 with a reduced budget will be extremely difficult.

Big fan of that. Don’t think we’ve had one light that before which is good.

Airdrieonians Vs Partick Thistle

Absolute shitshow of a performance from us and probably the worst since Doolan took over. Airdrie were well deserving winners and we offered nothing. Alston was absolutely honking.
