  1. Of course its ridiculous! It even goes back to when the Highland League expanded in 2009. Supposedly Banks o'Dee were the best candidate of the 4 clubs applying but were overlooked. The way I understand it, at the 3 Junior Regions AGMs this year some form of restructuring will have been discussed. The North is going to Region wide leagues, the West is looking to go to Region wide leagues and the East has some convoluted proposal. At the same time the SoS & NCFL have expanded, the EoS is almost certain to expand and the Highland League is standing still. So that's 6 out of the 7 organisations we would all probably like to see formalise a structure beneath the SPFL, discussing and implementing change of some description. Something could actually be done if someone takes the first step.
  2. I happen to think this way as well. They just won't be playing their games out of Alloa for it to happen. Much like the Juniors joining the pyramid, it seems like nobody is willing to ask the question. The likes of Banks could always do a Edusport/BSC: as a club be based North of the Tay, but play their games in a ground South of the Tay. If you can get promoted to League 2 you can start playing your games at home once again and if you get relegated you can finally play Highland League football.
  3. Good to know. As a piss poor gambler, I've always said there's not enough certainty in sport. If you want a more likely situation that could highlight the inadequacy of the current pyramid, picture this: Summer 2018 a random West of Scotland Junior or Community club applies to join the SoS. Only the SoS play the Highland League card of we're FULL.
  4. If you want to know how truly daft the situation is, think about BSC Glasgow getting relegated from the Lowland League this year.
  5. Then the West Premiership champions should be able to skoosh the SoS every year, just like their Eastern counterparts in the EoS
  6. Why not just tack the East Superleague beneath the EoS and this new West Premiership under the SoS
  7. This is dipping into a history lesson rather than dealing with the current set of cirumstances. However can anyone explain the creation of the 10 team Premier Division in the mid-70s? Mainly the the way in which the lower leagues were formed around it. http://www.scottish-football-historical-archive.co.uk/sflelections.htm The link above mentions the 1974 election of Ferranti Thistle was necessary to get the SFL to 38 members for preparation for the Premier, First & Second Divisions. It just seems strange to me the apparent acceptance of playing 3x a season in the First & Second. Especially with so much time to plan the structure of the leagues.
  8. It's the first series. There will be a third later in the year.
  9. I'd forgotten about that. Still think it would be too much to leave the Juniors without being close to a licence.
  10. Without a licence you're stuck at that level without chance of promotion. And the only hope of Scottish Cup entry would be winning the EoS. So if any of these clubs aren't close to licencing it seems a little fruitless to make the jump. Kelty possibly being in the Scottish Cup next year might be part of the temptation to move now. They can cover the "step down" in league by having the carrot of a run or big tie in the Scottish Cup for the first year while they work on getting licenced during the season.
  11. Out of the other rumoured Junior clubs, how many are close to being licenced? There isn't much point jumping to the EoS if they can't secure promotion within the first year.
  12. I hadn't realised they were top of the East Superleague. With the mention of them waiting on making an announcement until they'd secured the league title, I thought they were in the North/South Division maybe Premier.
  13. Some posts in the New Stadiums Thread look to confirm Kelty Hearts to the EoS. If only the rest of Scottish football was as interesting as the East Region Juniors moves: Craigroyston & Easthouses join with rumours of the likes of Ormiston to follow. Kelty now buck the trend and leave for the EoS. Also Montrose Roselea moving to the North Region, only to be stuck in the West Division.
  14. World of Sport is supposedly just waiting for the green light to book more tapings. After the presentation of the UK Championship tournament, i'm even less of a fan of the TV studio set up WoS is using. However i'll take it over nothing and it hope it might grow into something more. http://411mania.com/wrestling/itvs-world-of-sport-project-still-alive/ EDIT: Just to add that the ripple effects of the WWE UK contracts are starting to be felt. Seems like those signed are being restricted to working dark matches on televised events, if not pulled entriely. I imagine those promotions given the WWE stamp of approval (ICW/Progress) are going to be unaffected.
  15. It would no doubt be rigged like last time for an established club. A vacancy would be created in the SPFL and there would be a vote to find Club 42, rather than any on field merit.
  16. More goings on with British wrestling on TV. 5StarWrestling are going to have a special on Spike TV 28th January 8-10pm. http://411mania.com/wrestling/drew-galloway-announces-five-star-wrestling-series-for-spike-tv-in-great-britain-live-special-set-for-january-28/
  17. The new Impact logo. Anthem don't do subtlety.
  18. If they were to film more it would be in the vein of every other pretaped show. Film x amount of weeks across a couple of days. So getting JR back isn't a problem. Doing tapings isn't exactly the problem. They own the studio & production crew already. Then the wrestlers would probably cost the same as they might lose running a game show in its place. It's whether or not they can make enough money from the ads to justify it. Live events and merch are probably things that they'll just licence out to other promoters. So they can make money from those streams, but at the end of they're a TV company.
  19. The overnight rating doing the rounds for WoS was 1.25m. Doesn't look that great numbers wise but people seemed to stick with it for 2 hours. Chances of a series on ITV1 was always slim. However if they're willing to show minor darts & snooker events on ITV4, going to series might be worth a punt.
  20. Quite liked it. Even though i'd seen the spoilers, i managed to completey miss DBS jr being the mystery entrant in the Battle Royale. So that was a nice surprise. Looked better than I thought it would. Main complaint: The constant shots of the disinterested game show audience stuck waiting for Catchphrase to come on next. Favourite: Seeing people shit on it for basically being the holiday camps on TV.
  21. I didn't have the time to watch season one all over again.
  22. Jumped straight into the second season without finding a decent recap of what happened in season one. A "previously on" certainly would of came in handy.
  23. The edge of a butter knife. It can only be better than my first experience of British wrestling on L!ve TV
  24. World of Sport airs on 31st December with a 2 hour show starting at 4pm. Suppose the problem for ICW could come in the loss of talent: Conflict in dates, not being on Fight Club as WoS will be chasing the same International TV deals, WoS as a PG product don't want their talent working ICW full stop. WoS talent costing more due to national TV exposure. Long term it could work out perfectly. WoS grows the casual wrestling audience that ICW can then tap into by being a distinct alternative.
  25. http://411mania.com/wrestling/wwe-offering-unique-contracts-to-lock-in-uk-talent/ http://www.wrestlingnewssource.com/news/44096/SPOILERS-ITV-World-Of-Sport-Wrestling-Reboot-Results/ A return of World of Sport Wrestling with the backing of ITV could be a big deal. Stick the weekly show on ITV4 with the odd special on ITV1. Going by the 411mania story and looking at the talent used for the pilot. There could be some serious repercussions for ICW if this takes off.
