  1. In all honesty, you are far better with that wee perma-tanned flute away from your club. Holt's a good guy, can't ever remember hearing a bad word about him from anyone that has worked under him at Falkirk.
  2. So much crap in this thread. So a guy gets released by his club and that means his options are limited? He can sign for literally any club in the world, if there is interest. The only ones that had no other options, were the violent thug, the dick waver and the drug dealer. They signed for Livi because they offered, and continued to offer, the most money. Not hard, is it? The fact that a lot have jumped shift suggests more that there is something rotten going on, yet again, at the club. Someone said it's because Championship clubs can offer more money. So why not leave at the start of last season? Seems strange that a club that could retain championship players in the championship can't do so in the Premiership with an increase in money. Did you take a moment to think about the club you are talking about, Marshy, or did you just launch into your usual hyperbolic bullshit? This is a club with multiple administrations under the belt, that has no issues employing convicted criminals and claims to have no money whilst employing Kenny Miller. And, if your buddy Yogi is to be believed, is receiving funding from a former convicted drug dealer who apparently had all his cash seized by the courts. Add into that the multiple times the courts have had to get involved to remove members of the board and chairmen from the board. Sure, there's nothing going on...
  3. I think he means potential supporters, are opposed to actual moaners, which is what we mostly have.
  4. If only Edinburgh could be less tin pot and more like Inverness international Airport.
  5. I meant I might manage Dunfermline in the league or Raith in the Scottish Cup. Not traveling anywhere for the Challenge Cup, can't afford the outlay for what is a distraction form staying out of league 1
  6. We offered him slightly less than he was on and he wasn't well paid to start with. That's not much of a margin to be slicing.
  7. As I've said, I'm not buying the small budget chat. Every one of those guys was clearly able to play at a higher level but stuck with Livi. They can say they have a small budget all they want. Doesn't wash with me. Too shady a club to be believed.
  8. Well, fair play to those that can justify the outlay for that cup. I won't be traveling to the wasteland of Wales. I may just about manage Dunfermline, or even Kirkcaldy if we get Raith in the cup.
  9. Don't mind Shadwell, I think they're having another breakdown. Craigen has been good most of the season for you guys apart from that one game he had at right back, I think. Though that was more AJ being daft than anything Craigen did. I think a lot of the guys we cleared out that season were fucking around because they expected to stroll the league, and when it became clear they wouldn't, they downed tools.
  10. They have a lower reported budget, is the point I am trying to get over. They sure as hell aren't paying Miller and Sibbald pennies. And they sure as hell weren't paying Kenny Miller pennies. There's something extremely shady going on there with financing and I'm sure we will find out in the fullness of time. Yogi hinted the other day that he had heard that Miller left because of the way that Martindale, the assistant manager, was funding the club. That would be the convicted drug dealer Martindale.
  11. Can't force him to stay, can we? He was never going to sign another contract with club triggered extension. And we were never going to pay well over the odds to keep a player that didn't want to be with us anymore. Not even sure what youd point with Sibbald is even supposed to be.
  12. If you think Livingston are paying the players what they are reporting, you have learned nothing from the last decade of Scottish football. You have a club that claims to have a tiny budget that is apparently being funded on the side by a guy who has no money of his own.
  13. And while we are at it, I work with a guy that does the occasional bit of media work for Dunfermline. He says the only guy there on big money is Higginbotham. Longridge is on less there than he was here, so the idea that we offered him less than he was worth is clearly bullshit as he settled for less elsewhere too.
  14. Or how much they were telling the SFA they were getting paid.
  15. The basic starting point for building a squad is having players that want to be with you. Longridge, Sibbald and all the others mentioned above do not fall into that category. We have signed payers that presumably do. Now Hartley needs to sort them into a working formation and kick a few up the arse. That's on him, he's the manager.
  16. I plan on wanking myself into a frenzy before the game, just in case. Might be the highlight of the day.
  17. I'm not quite ready to shit the bed in August.
  18. This thread makes me miss Dixie Chicken.. I need a pint now. Never mind at the football.
  19. Nah we won't. We'll need to see how they actually line up first.
  20. Can we all just agree that we've been fucking shite and leave it at that? Cheers.
  21. Knowing the Herald, the whole bus has probably gone off a cliff. Shitey newspaper at the best of times.
  22. I'd probably stay at home and get drunk. Just think, the money you guys will spend traveling to the game is probably more than the prize money for winning the damn thing.
  23. They're called right footed left backs I believe. I can't help but feel with regards to recruitment, it's the board again that's fucked up. Bear with me. Mitchell spends months drawing up a list of targets, Hartley approves them. The board then gets their hands on it, and signs the cheapest ones they can get a hold of. As has been said, the best signings we have made have been the last minute ones, and one of them was a player that Hartley already knew. You just know that the board have knocked back experienced pros in the hope of signing some young guys they could sell on. Does Penicuik need a right winger?
  24. I think we got more for McGrandles than we did for Fulton. Should have been on a Par. We've lost players for a lot less than they were worth, either due to not selling early enough or not getting them on an extension. I know we all like seeing good players stay, but if they then leave for pennies then that's a loss. Sibbald being a great example.
  25. Pretty much, it seems. Not sure what an unhappy clapper would be? Anyone? Bairnardo for chairman.
