  1. When MacKenzie made his debut for Aberdeen, Andy Considine claimed he was the best defender at the club! I recall that MacKenzie struggled with injuries during his youth, but he has significantly improved his game over the past season or so. This season, he has been exceptional. Similar to Devlin, I don't believe he’s at the international level yet, but our options are limited with the injury crisis.
  2. I saw the Broken Chanter duo opening for Arab Strap and really enjoyed their set. I’ll definitely keep an eye out for a chance to see them perform with a full band in the future.
  3. I thought Nilsen was dreadful at times, frequently giving the ball away in the first half, although he did manage some decent forward passes as well. I didn't think Shinnie was much better either, but it seemed he was having to cover defensively because Keskinen wasn't fulfilling his defensive responsibilities.
  4. I thought Aberdeen were quite poor today, given the ball away particularly in the midfield. Keskinen failing to track back and support Devlin was a significant issue. It was surprising that Aberdeen weren't 3-1 down by half-time given the number of chances Hearts created. In the second half, I hoped for an improvement, but there was little change, with Hearts squandering another excellent opportunity. When Hearts eventually scored, it was crucial that we equalised almost immediately. The game shifted after Grant was sent off—what on earth was he thinking? Duk was a constant threat to Hearts when he come on as a sub, and his run and cross for Palaversa’s goal, struck into the top corner, was superb. If Hearts keep playing like that, they certainly won't stay near the bottom for long and could still challenge us for third. Aberdeen are having their fair share of luck, but that's now 16 wins in 17 games. 9 consecutive victories over Hearts at Pittodrie. What a fantastic time to be a Dandy Dons fan!
  5. That's why, even if we win on Sunday and extend our lead to 19 points with a game in hand, it's far too early in the season to say that Hearts couldn't catch us, particularly given that last season they won six league games in a row. I remember when we travelled to Kazakhstan and then beat Dundee United away in the Sunday match, so it's certainly possible that Hearts could beat us, despite our record of eight consecutive wins against them at Pittodrie.
  6. The first full sell-out of both home and away allocations since the Burnley match in 2018. The sooner Rangers and Celtic bugger off out of our league, the better for the other clubs. I'm expecting a really tough match against a team that I anticipate will challenge us for 3rd position. I hope we can aim a bit higher, but given the wage disparity with Rangers and Celtic, it would be truly remarkable if we manage to achieve that.
  7. Selling really well, said the lower deck was sold out and limited on the upper deck https://www.afc.co.uk/2024/09/25/premier-sports-cup-semi-final-ticket-information/
