Registering your details with this site in no way means you are obligated to contribute money. We are just trying to gain a rough idea of how much could potentially be raised.

So what if 500 *** from one of their forum's pledge 15k each or a figure around that, it will totally f**k the whole idea up.

Good job we're not giving them any ideas then, eh?]

  2. Indeed, thought i think Naismith has a year or two left on his contract so he wont go unless he is advised to just take a payoff and then get a free start somewhere down south next season.

Lafferty, if he is out of contract at the end of this seaosn and currently injured would be near the top of the list for a compromise deal IMHO

So it's not all bad news for Rangers fans then?

I'm sure i heard he has a clause on his contract meaning if he plays a few more games this season Burnley will be due money, If that's true i think it's safe to say he's played his last game for the club.

  3. Rumour kicking about today.

I think even that would be too good to be true

I don't think there are any SPL rules on third-party ownership? The FA clamped down on it post-Tevez, but I don't think there is anything against it in UEFA legislation as it happens quite a lot on the continent as far as im aware?

They've never been given any coverage, anyway, if there are.

Further, clearly Whittaker etc. were registered by SPL + SFA, and that requires submission of contracts.

So if their contracts are with another entity, and that's banned... how were they registered?

It's conceivable but appears somewhat unlikely.

Are contracts registered? Is a players registration not something seperate from their contract, especially if its just an extension.

Someone just brought it up on Clyde 1 Hugh Keevans (i know) says all contracts have to be registered with the SPL

  4. Apologies if this nugget (an apt term) from Vanguard Bears has been posted on this thread before - just spotted it in the OF forum:

How on earth can you still be supportive of Craig Whyte? Oh thats right, because you don't believe what's in the papers. Muppets.

To be fair, these are the same people who believe anyone with an irish sounding name in Scotland is anti rangers, anti protestant. The brand of paranoia from this group far outweighs anything Celtic fans have been accused off!

Sadly they are the type who believe Rangers = protestant, Celtic = Catholic, No grey area, it's pretty much as black & white as that.

But here is another wee gem from them on the 10/02/2012 before they went into admin

    http://www.vanguardbears.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=200:a-bears-take-on-recent-events

In closing, anybody who has a problem with Whyte, I would like to remind you of a few things.

    1. Whyte did NOT cause our problems, David Murray did.
    2. Whyte is NOT going to spend a lot of money whilst we are at risk of Administration. Any fool could see that.
    3. Whyte DID come in when no-one else would.
    4. We would already be in Administration and losing our assets, if it hadn't been for Whyte!
    5. Rangers fans should remember the reasons we are in this mess.
    :lol::lol::lol:

  5. They'll surely be making redundancies, which should bring outgoings closer to takings + other income.

Cousin speculation-mill is growing arms-n-legs, but 2 scenarios were raised on Sportsound yesterday alternative to "they're signing players while making redundancies"... Scenario 1 is he'd already signed something before admin, but not registered, but administrator had a go anyway (why not - he'd still have to pay him); Scenario 2 is the administrator deliberately got Cousin to revise his contract (£7.5k > £5k/£6.5k) so it was dated post-admin, so SPL would reject, so he can break it immediately. It's still a puzzler, though.

I don't think a player with a rat agent like Willie McKay would fall for something like that.

  7. ... as you'd want to compete in Europe by having a shot at the CL Champions Pathway, and failing that trying to progress in the EL. And, to assist that, avoid your last bit i.e. someone getting near them.

As for domination, plenty leagues have been dominated by single clubs.

Rosenborg of Norway won 13-in-a-row 1992 to 2004... infact 18 from 24, going 1988 to present.

Skonto Riga of Latvia also won 13-in-a-row 1992 to 2004.

Lyon of France won 7-in-a-row, in a large competitive nation, 2001-02 to 2007-08.

Olympiakos of Greece have won 10 of the last 11.

Dynamo Kiev of Ukraine won 11 from 12 running 1992-93 to 2003-04.

    Don't forget Rangers win 9 in a row during the 90's

Have Shakhtar Donetsk taken up the mantle as the the dominant force in Ukraine these days?

  8. I tend to agree - I can see a drop in demand for Season Tickets as the cost would no longer seem so attractive without the OF games and we normally see a big dip for Celtic's "non-season" ticket games in the cup and europa League. They would still have crowds that the rest of us could only dream of - but I can't see the Waiting List being dusted off any time soon....

I dont disagree that crowds may drop, but not right away, and i highly down they will only be around the 20/30k mark.

  9. Received this reply from the Sports Minister regarding Rnagers being "crucial to the game" (See my email below)

Still begs the question: are Celtic &/or Rangers immune from relegation or failing to make the top 6 ?

To me it makes our league somewhat gerry mandered and a bit of a laughing stock !

    Dear Mr SJC

    Thank you for your email.

Football is our national game and the Scottish Government is a committed supporter of Scottish football and all of our football clubs in recognition of the important positive role they play in communities throughout Scotland.

I fully recognise that it is vital that both individuals and organisations pay their taxes in a timely manner as taxation is essential to the economic and social development ofScotland. In any statements made on Rangers, the Scottish Government has reiterated the importance of an agreement between the club and HMRC being reached which ensures that Rangers meet their obligations, including their tax liabilities and debts as well as securing as many of the jobs as possible.

As you will know, the club have now entered administration and it is far too early to predict the possible outcome of this but it is less likely that if the club is wound up that tax liabilities will be met. The task for the administrators now is to take forward the process of assessing the business and securing an outcome in the best interests of all of the creditors.

In a telephone conversation yesterday with the administrator, I reiterated our priorities as stated above. A key concern for us is the future of the over 250 people employed by the club and the potential economic impact of administration. The Government stands ready to offer assistance to anyone affected by job losses at the company and we will stay in contact with the administrator throughout the process to ensure we are informed of any developments. The Scottish Government has offered this type of assistance to a number of companies in the past, including other Scottish football clubs which had gone into administration, and will continue to do so with any company with employees facing redundancy.

While we are able to offer support as laid out above, I want to be clear that no public money would be offered to bail out any football club and this remains the case with Rangers.

Finally, the potential impact on Scottish football of losing Rangers was captured very well in the comments earlier this week of Inverness Manager Terry Butcher, when he expressed concern that such a loss would have a very negative impact on already difficult broadcasting and sponsorship deals. I hope you will agree that this is something we would wish, if at all possible, to avoid.

    Yours sincerely

    SHONA ROBISON

MINISTER FOR COMMONWEALTH GAMES AND SPORT

    In response to:

    Dear Ms Robison

I would be grateful if you might be in a position to qualify your recent comments as to why Rangers are "crucial to the Scottish game (reported on the BBC website on 13th February 2012).

Are Rangers any more crucial than St Johnstone (my local team), Heart of Midlothian FC (the team I have supported since childhood), or any other Scottish club I might care to mention? Would you have commented to this effect had one of these clubs been faced with, what is, after all, a self-inflicted scenario brought about by gross financial imprudence? Why should HMRC reach an 'agreement' with Rangers FC, and what form might this take? If Rangers FC are liable for a tax bill in excess of £50M with penalties that could add a further £20M+, shouldn't they be liable to pay the full amount or suffer the consequences that any other business in similar circumstances would? This is public money after all. I sincerely hope you are not advocating or supporting any arrangement whereby the tax payers of this country are likely to be short-changed due to the financial impropriety of a football club. If you consider Rangers to be a special or exceptional case, I would appreciate an explanation as to why this might be a reasonable position.

Those responsible for bringing this situation into being should be held to account. Other football clubs have the integrity and presence of mind to live within their means, or, at the very least, seek to address their financial predicaments by altering the way in which they operate. I have absolutely no confidence that those within Rangers football club and the equally culpable others that went will before them will answer for their failure to operate on a viable basis. Should members of the Scottish government collude with a scenario whereby Rangers are not duly held to account, then I will have no confidence in this administration, nor will I gift my vote to your party in the future.

    Kind regards SJC

No offence mate, but that's pretty sad you went to that trouble.
