  1. Delighted that Bill and co are back with a podcast, fantastic listen and the more promotion for juniors the better.

Just wanted to say that after a six month sabbatical Nugent4nil is back with a couple of tweaks.

We are still on at the same time, Thursdays 7-8pm and still on Pulse 984 and still live and unscripted. Rather than being solo though I now have a co-host in Davie Greig. Our first show back had Steve Wilson gaffer of Ardrossan Winton Rovers while last week we had George Greirson and Kev Deeney the new management team at Whittlets Victoria  while last night we had Jed McCabe who manages Inspire Sport in Scotland, an organisation that takes kids to many areas across Europe giving them the opportunity to see the stadiums, watch a game, be coached by the clubs guys, etc, clubs include Valencia, Man City, Real Madrid, etc.

Next week we have the fixtures guru Kennie Young on with Ashfield gaffer Paul Maxwell on the following week.

We have a lot of guests lined up basically because Davie just calls everyone but if anyone fancies coming along please let me know.

PS I would love to get Bill K along one week if you fancy it sir?

    Weekend att / headcount 10/11/19

After 3 weeks I am currently getting figures for around 50% of games, positive start.

Well over 10,000 spectators counted in just 3 weeks, could be a lot higher if we can fill in missing.

Any help with missing would be greatly appreciated thanks.

    Arthurlie v Irvine Vics.... 150?

I've said for years there should be a board outside the ground advertising the next game.   Carlibar Road sees a lot of passing traffic yet there is nothing to indicate when the next game is on.

3 miles away Whitecraigs RFC have such a board, which is clearly visible to passing traffic, and I am sure it means more people will watch their games.

I get this, I honestly get this  but..... dafties will rip it down, cars passing wont see it, and walkers will just amble past and be oblivious to it being there.

A man who put many years of his life into backing Arthurlie mocked me for producing a Fanzine that I had wrote and published at work hence no cost to the club.

First issue I stood at the bar in the Arthurlie Club and every player paid? Donated? a pound! for an issue....

The Guru had told me paper stuff was done, in between slaughtering me for no reason. We didn't make much but for work I did if it was a one pound profit its a win aye?

Also regards the new Arthurlie website...... thanks so much for the positive feedback but I am still miles away, that said loads of updates yesterday.

Regarding the social media, re Twitter and Facebook, I have no input on either but I must remind all that these people volunteer they give up so much of their own time in way's the majority will never see. Finally in a totally non offensive way..... these wonderful people haven't the time nor the abscess to history or previews or whatever.

In all seriousness as much as I would love more,I cant fault, and cant thank the current folk doing the social media.

And for anyone who has issues.... you can easily volunteer.

  5. At Arthurlie we do a 24-28 page full colour issue at every home game. Reports on any games sinse our last home game, players stats, season to date, opposition and Arthurlie honours, sponsorship opportunities, secretary's welcome, todays squads, code of conduct, etc. This season we have also given a page to two local charities to promote their work.

As RH said its a labour of love but also enjoyable, its just that ONE person who pulls you for one errors in 28 fkn pages that does my knitting in! haha

Fantastic work once again getting the updates out so quickly!

I would just do a programme for the Saturday and let supporters know the obvious reason why as can't add much for Monday game and the better crowd would be on the Saturday. Have a preview of Monday game in the Saturday programme....?

Totally get that but will probably do one for both out of pure stubbornness and so I have something else to moan about! ;)

My letter of resignation will be in the post.

But in my defence - Arthurlie winning their group?

Quite right too! and as for us winning our group we qualify every year if you miss out the last five haha

Looking forward to season ahead. Competition all over park. Seen tonight that tam is option wide aswell did really well. I think once dan is properly fit he’ll bang goals in brings others into play really well. He’s slimmed down since last season aswell. Winning section with squad rotation is a delight for me. Shows the progress. Looking forward to seeing more of the new signings also. Big Kieran has been excellent and Tony aswell when played. A lot of local boys throughout the core of the team not had for a while now.  Mon eh lieeeeaaaa

Agree, I thought Ross was the pick of the bunch tonight just shading Connor while Gordon made a few fantastic stops and will push Giro hard this year. Also thought given his injuries and lack of playing time that Young had a great game, IMO if his head is right hes as good a centre back as there is in the league, there will always be that fear though. Squad is obviously top heavy at the moment but once the league starts I would expect a few to drift away and additions made. Although we qualified from the group for the first time since 14/15 season its still pre-season for me so not getting carried away. Big test on Saturday against Kilsyth who were the only team to beat us home and away last season, also hearing big things about their new midfielder Tom Neil but we will see how he faces up against Tiger.

Also get yourself a programme at the weekend, a bumper 28 page full colour that will hopefully be the norm for the season.

Lee Roulston has the glasses on that night, I think it’s the only time he wore them, doesn’t anymore, he’s still with us and an excellent young player. NcNab was top scorer and really impressive last year, but has moved on to Rossvale.

Lee wore them constantly until the play of against Meadow when they were twanging the elastic at the back so hes wearing lenses now.... seriously!
