Once again, has anyone seen the FULL Robertson statement as it was a screen graph of him QUOTED. Where is the full article, what is the source? And also again the people slating the article here are the ones who 12 months ago stated it was time he left as he couldn't use a computer.
AGAIN I am not defending the incident, its been done previously but it could and should have been handled better. One thing, Talbot have won the league and have the Scottish coming up, players are tired, not knowing their squad what if Tucker had thrown in trialists and they did the presentation at the end of the game do they tell players not to go up or to hand back their medals?
Point is was the statement from Robertson real?

Same for me, as well as Dam Park I haven't been to Craigmark, Dalry or Gartcairn.
Gartcairn will be new for me if the move goes through as quoted, was at the current place last season, been to the others. Craigmark is a fair jaunt but nice we set up with a bar inside the ground etc.

I am not defending anyone or what has happened but has anyone actually seen the whole article that Shankland posted regards to action? What was the full statement? What was the source as its states "Robertson said he would be dealt with" hence it wasn't posted by a man everyone decried last season for being in the dark ages not using modern technology but now he is posting statements on social media?
The medals in a bag should obviously never have happened but as stated has done so on many occasions, I have saw a post from a current elected member who said he was disappointed at how it was handled and had made his views known, etc but rather than jump to conclusions has anyone considered someone has sent a screenshot to Shankland as a wind up?
Bringing Kennie into this was very poor IMO as he has been a breath of fresh air this season but its not his place to comment publicly on something he didn't attend surely?
Finally regards Talbot making a statement, dammed if they do dammed if they don't as ever in these circumstances IMO.

Apologies in advance to the people that will mention a previous thread on this topic but I honestly can’t find it so.... as every gaffer says after a loss, we go again.
Our first Legends 7-A-Side event takes place three weeks tomorrow, Saturday June 15th, at New Western Park kicking off around 12pm.
There are sixteen confirmed squads in the event, each one made up of ten players and they will be separated into four groups of four playing a round robin event of games 15 minute duration with no change over but rolling subs.
This year’s event, our first of many we hope, is in aid of Nil by Mouth and on the day the teams will contest the McBookie.com Shield, who I am delighted to have on board.
Awards on the day will also be made to five gentlemen no longer with us, three carried over from our previous eleven a-side-event. Those alongside other awards have been kindly sponsored by The Arthurlie Inn’s in Barrhead.
Entry on the day will be £4 for adults, £2 OAP’s with children and unemployed going for free.
We will also be producing a programme for the day which I can promise the likes of which has never been attempted in any grade of football ever to my knowledge.
The teams competing are all ex-players or in some case guests but are all over the age of 35 who are each paying £5 to be part of this event, so given our entrance costs and the chance to see so many old favourites it must be the bargain of all time.
Squads taking part are as follows, Renfrew, Pollok, Glenafton Athletic, Largs Thistle, Kilbirnie Ladeside, Johnstone Burgh, Clydebank, Paisley, West Select, Arthurlie, Port Glasgow, Beith, Neilston, St Anthony’s, Kilsyth Rangers, and Benburb.
We have also secured, much to my delight, help from Glasgow College who will send three physio students along on the day free of charge. Touching old men’s groins and feet will be the seller if they want to progress in their chosen subject and I would like to tank Julie for her help with arranging this, well for arranging this.
Lots more to be announced later but before I finish I have to give my deepest and most sincere thanks to Gordon, George, Graeme, Stevie, Andy, and Jimmy for their help to date in making this happen.
Please come along if possible, bring your wives, your husbands, your sons and daughters, your neighbours, your dugs… no cats allowed. The bar and food sections at New Western Park will be open as long as we require.
Thanks
Robert

Burst pipe or something which is causing issues with the corner of one side of there pitch
Was speaking to someone close to the club today, seems they were gutted. had set up an area in the car park for the Candy support but there was an issue with a pipe that was fitted recently and it either backed up or burst and flooded the park. Obviously there is history between the clubs so if they are having to segregate fans etc its the same plava for 200 as it would be for ten so theyve probably took a big hit losing todays game as I wouldnt imagine as many Candy supporters will travel on a Wednesday night, that said I wouldnt be surprised if there were more.

Enjoyed my visit to Recreation Park today apart from the result obviously, that said the correct result was done. Hats off to the club and those involved as the last time we were there the park was a bog, the pitch looked top class, the improvements around the ground also are a credit to all involved. Only had three issues, firstly the group of 'grown' ups I stood next to, great bunch but one guy ..... FFS I guess his wife doesnt let him talk in the house as he never shut up all day! Secondly I popped in for a pie, a lovely 'older' lady asked if I wanted a Killie pie, her younger helper explained it was a Kilmarnock pie, they argued over what it was called so I sat on the fence and asked for a pie that wasn't just mince and it was top class.
Finally, I couldnt find a list of the days teams so could anyone help me out with the 1-11 of Darvel today?
Thanks again for the great welcome,I took a few pictures that I have stuck on Facebook and tagged Recreation Park that, if any use, your more than welcome to lift and use.

Correct - you said to me about 10 minutes before the Glens scored their first goal that the manager needed to make a change as Arthurlie had suddenly stopped being able to hold the ball up near the Glens box particularly as Marks had tired after putting in a great shift. This allowed the Glens to start dictating play.
The bit I highlighted are why I don't think they will get promoted - while it is good to beat the likes of Dalry 8-1 it is the games against the teams at the top which will determine who will go up and I think the Glens and Cumbernauld are more street wise than Arthurlie at present.
That's a very fair point regards them being more street wise but how long have those two clubs being building, and improving, as a squad compare that to Arthurlie having one player from last season and improving as it goes. Glencairn pumped us at the start of the season so to be disappointed in only getting a point is IMO at least a sign of how far we have come as the season has progressed.
Think back to the start of the season when avoiding relegation was a hope and now some are moaning that we aren't certs to go up?

This is a great thread.
Got me thinking. I miss a lot of the lost grounds that I visited in my formative football watching years but not keen on the new ones that I've visited.
Are any of the new grounds an improvement on the lost ones in terms of character? Facilities are better at most I would imagine. Petershill springs to mind in that regard.
Cumnock is the standout for me, new 4g? pitch laid where the grass one was gives them the new all weather surface but keeps the character of the ground etc.

You can add a few to that list. At various times there were also a Kirky Bluebell, Waverley, United and Hillfield!
Some of them were one or two-season wonders in the 1800s, but Central and Harp seem to have lasted a couple of decades, the latter being the original occupants of Adamslie. The Rabs only moved there when Harp chucked it in 1926 - they'd played at three other parks before then.
Just beat me to that! haha

whens the draw for last 32
It's usually about ten days after the round to allow for postponed games and replays next Saturday so I'd guess a week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,..,,,,.,
Hopefully in the social club of a side still involved!
