  1. Unlucky today lads against the league leaders. A great team performance that if we take into next week will reap some reward. Hold your heads up as for all the pre match hype it took a goal from a simple corner kick to separate the teams. Bring on the Candy next week.. Mon the Toria.
  2. See you all the morra lads, looking forward to it. Introduce yourself as you can't miss me with my bright orange Broncos hat.[emoji6]
  3. Park should be fine drainage usually good other side of river. T
  4. DL was passionate about his club when they had nae money and now they are rolling in it he has went right off the Richter Scale. Quite right too. I look forward to the Darvel boys visit on Saturday. Expecting a lot of banter which has always been there. As previous posts intimate a lot of DL sarcasm gets lost in translation. Darvel are now the pacesetters in the league and are there to be shot down, so it's a free hit for us on Saturday and if we take something from the game brilliant. If we lose but give it a go, so be it. T
  5. Good point last night. Hard earned but we'll deserved. Great team effort but special mention for Ewan Farrell. Mom the Toria
  6. Craigmark 3 - 3 Irvine Vics On a night for the ducks both teams went for it from the off. Craigmark looked home and dry at 3-1 but this young Vics team have something about them this season. Didn't give up and there was a15-20 min spell just after losing the 3rd goal where they knuckled down, got their passing game going and deservedly drew level. Both teams deserve credit for their efforts on a miserable night. T
  7. Meant to post this earlier; but unlucky on Saturday boys. I thought you should have had something from the game but wasn't meant to be. The wind didn't help but it was the same for both teams so can't complain, that's fitba for you. The defeat doesn't take away from the great start you guys have made so on to our next game tomorrow at Craigmark. Mon the Toria[emoji4]
  8. I'm a old traditional collector,in that if I am at a match and there is one on offer, I want one as a memento, irrespective of quality or cost. Particularly when my own club, Vics, are playing opponents for the first time, home or away. Unfortunately due to being held up in traffic missed out on a programme at our recent game at Gartcairn as they were sold out by time we got there. Also agree with previous posts about sponsorship revenue for small clubs like ourselves when producing a programme. T
  9. Sctv, I can't argue with you about a game of two halves as me and my mate missed most of the first half due to bring held up with roadworks. However I will say is that in the bit of the first half we did see the Vics scored their 2nd & 3rd goals and could had a couple more before halftime. Start of second half we had a couple of more chances to extend our lead which would have finished the game before you pulled one back. We had two more gilt edged chances after you scored to go to 4-1. Then you scored your second which made it squeaky bum time for us in the last 10 mins. Both finishes for your goals were sweet and I felt you had one definite penalty. Your other claims were a bit soft and hopeful on your part but on another day with a different ref you might have got it. I also thought the ref should get a mention as he was fair to both teams, wasn't over fussy and tried to keep the game flowing. Anyway all the best and hope to see you guys at Irvine later in the season as there was lots of good chat between the boys today for my first visit. T
  10. Well done again today lads, another hard fought victory. Although we seemed to be hanging on at the end the game should have been put to bed long before that as we had plenty of chances in the second half. Anyway onto next week and hopefully the injuries will have cleared up. T
  11. Home Home Home Home Home Draw Away Away
  12. It's all about opinions, so as much as I still disagree am not going to fall out with you over it . I will always try to be objective on here win lose or draw. You guys brought a wee crowd last night which is appreciated and the boys who were next to us were first class. It was a good competitive match that I felt we shaded. There's definitely a couple of your players that I would have in our team. Anyway all the best T
  13. Gonna have to disagree with your assessment of last night's game 1874_MTL. I understand you are disappointed with the defeat but that was probably because your own pre match expectations weren't met given you took 6 points off us last season. We are not the long ball team you describe and that certainly wasn't the case last night. In fact I would say that was the only weapon you guys had in your armoury and our centre halves mopped up everything. RE your goal the player who cutback the cross was at least two yards offside and the linesman at our side was well off the play. Also disappointed at the attitude that you only lost because you were poor against a weaker team. I thought it was a good game between two well matched teams. We are rebuilding again this season but there is a strength and determination about this squad which was maybe lacking in the early part of last season. It's early days for all the teams but what is quite clear is that there are no easy games in this league. Underestimate the opposition at your peril. All the best for the rest of the season [emoji6] T
  14. I also thought it would be a struggle and we had the potential to be bottom of the pile right from the off. However my opinion has changed as the team we have put together this season is not going to be bullied and a wee bit of flare and pace as well. TBH we rode our luck on Saturday at Dalry to get a draw but we're well worth the victory last night. Against a no bad Arthurlie team, despite what their own fans are saying. Anyway it's early days and there are still a lot of quality teams, like yourselves, we have to play, so am not going to make any rash predictions. The aim again this season is consolidating our championship status. [emoji6] T
  15. We were well worth the three points last night. Like you say loads of personnel changes again but this squad has a wee bit about them this year in battling terms that was missing at the start of last season. However it's early days yet but things are looking up[emoji4] T
  16. Great 3 points tonight lads. Thoroughly deserved for a magnificent team performance. Callum and Danny earned their goals for the shift they put in against an experienced no nonsense defence who took no prisoners. Both finishes were fantastic. Mon the Toria[emoji4]
  17. It was only payback for Boylan when at the Buffs, he sleekitly wiped out Cousar at Largs, damaging his Achilles tendon putting him out the game for weeks. Dont like to see players deliberately taken out, but what goes around comes around as they say.
  18. Totally agree he kept us in it all second half, We could've sneaked one but then he made a great stop from the header right at the end. T P.S. he is playing with an injury sustained in a preseason game.
  19. Incorrect, the Vics keeper saved two penalties [emoji6]
  20. Away Away Home Draw Home Home Away Home
  21. Literally speaking Peter he is saying " You can post your shite in the Championship forum next season when Glencairn have been relegated from the Premiership this season ". Along those lines[emoji6]. T
  22. I would have him back with us as he would bring some much needed experience to our young team. Plus he scored a great hattrick against the Dodgers, albeit in a defeat, last Marymass derby. [emoji6]
  23. Ref: the vics missed penalty. Have they stopped giving out red cards for a last man challenge /goal scoring opportunity? I thought it was only goalkeepers who were exempt from the double fund punishment. T
  24. Yes from a potential leveller to going two goals down not long after was harsh but we learn from it and move on. We did compete for long spells and didn't give up which was encouraging from our young players. T P.S. Ryan Stevenson was a class above for them, no doubt about it.
