Graham Spiers hopefully talking out his Arse. why would they cut a deal, it would just mean any other club with tax liabilities or debt similar to Rangers getting away with a pennies in pound deal.

Iirc united's debt now stands at 4million with 1 million of that being an overdraft facility with the bank. our debt has been reduced with the sale of goodie and looks very likely to be reduced again with the sales of gms and russell on the horizon.

Since doncaster is always talking about the product of the SPL, does he not realise that unless strict action is taken by the SPL board over these supposed hidden contracts, the already bad name of our league will be dragged further through the mud. What sponsor would want their brand name associated with a league where a team has possibly cheated their way to 7 titles?! The serie a had to take a hit after their match fixing scandal, i think the SPL is about to get a knock out blow if action isn't taken and severe punishment meted out, assuming of course the allegations are proved true.

Reading all the facts, not just rumour and conjecture, its fairly obvious to me that Rangers have few options. that would mean carrying on as they are. Most likely outcome imo would be a newco starting up but the biggest question i have would have is where they would start again if a newco was formed. I really hope the SPL have the guts to send them downwards rather than keep their place in the SPL. Still if they go down to division 3 and come back up that's 3 years audited accounts etc completed and 5 years after going down they'd be able to qualify for europe again, assuming of course if they were strong enough. Based on what i've just said i think if the SPL do keep them any punishment should be meted out over a 5 year period not 3 with points deduction as has already been muted.

If Rangers get away with this debt all clubs outwith the old firm should join the sfl, start a new league with a proper voting system and stick two fingers up to the old firm. i.e. 10spl clubs plus 6 from the top of the current 1st division then pyramid the rest of the leagues. not exactly the most thought out plan i know but this has me raging. Rangers have basically shafted every tax payer in this country to the tune of 75million. absolute b*****ds.
