I was an autograph hunting kid after the game below where, for historical purposes, I was privileged to witness a iconic figure like Jim McLean going absolutely off his head in the dressing room, first hand.
You could hear, and even see, much of what was going on in the dressing room from the narrow lane behind the Main Stand.
McLean was going crazy, and I remember someone becoming his focus by making the mistake of answering him back to point out that they were angry.
"YOU'RE ANGRY? YOU'RE ANGRY? EVERYBODY'S FUCKIN' ANGRY."
Not sure who it was, but a torn faced Hamish McAlpine completely blanked the autograph hunters shortly afterwards, so it might have been him.
Interesting to see the reporter thought that two minutes of stoppage time was a lot, although the two dodgy handball penalties were more in line with the modern game.

Most of my experience of it is in Serie B, but obviously those are diddy attendances. Generally, it's the police checking them before you get that close to the turnstiles. A bit like how searching people before games doesn't really cause delays, you just need more staff.
Can concur with this. When I took in an AC MIlan game, security to get in was three layers deep and even kids were showing some sort of I.D. document that reminded me of the old British visitor's passports. It was all done pretty efficiently, though.

Early exit for Rodri and the lads.

Group of Life for England there.

The NFL experience, in summary, was that instant replay was very unpopular and survived by the skin of its teeth for five years before finally being voted out of existence by the teams.
It came back seven years later, after a big rethink, in a vastly improved format that suited the game better.
I've no confidence that football will follow suit,

I survived a pat down when I unwittingly turned up at the game with an assortment of decent sized rocks, spread across the pockets of a jacket I'd recently worn on a geology field trip, back in the day.

That was the perfect sequel to the game through there earlier in the season.
A few seething town crier types in the Livingston end, for all you hear obout our versions.

I noticed in two consecutive NFL games last night we had commentators incorrectly identifying something as being "ironic", as per the national stereotype.

Already here:
The cheapening of the word "excited". Some of the things people insert after the words,"I'm excited by...", is fucking wild these days.
Still to come:
Omitting the word "injury" when describing footballers' injuries. e.g. "Smith and Jones both have ankles and will miss Saturday's game".

"Often times".
"A whole nother"
They're coming.

Quite a few of the kids at my school ask to go to "the bathroom". I of course ask if they need to take a bath or if they didn't manage to wash this morning but for every one that sheepishly changes is to "the toilet", I get two or three who don't understand the point I'm making.
The next level of that is the completely bizarre "restroom", which appeas to be some kind of denial or pretence that you are not actually heading in there for a pish or a shite.
I'm bursting for a rest.

This interaction with Robert Smith on the red carpet is a decent summary of some of the differences between Britain and the US. The gap is closing, though. It's only a matter of time.

Paul McStay evades Andre Van Tiggelen at Euro 92 in Sweden, Scotland should have been in front by half time, two great chances fell to to the wrong players, Richard Gough and Dave McPherson both had loose balls land at their feet in the box at set pieces and both ballooned them over the bar, I think the player on the left is Philipe Cocu, that may be a young Edgar Davids on the right but not 100% sure.
Edit, on second look that left may be Wim Jonk on the left methinks.
Paul McStay was outstanding in that tournament, and he was going up against the very best when you consider that our first game was against the defending European champions and our second was against the reigning world champions. Scotland's performance in that tournament was right up there with anything we've ever produced in a finals, but the standard of opposition was just a bridge too far. The Germany game, in particular, was a pisser, where we went toe-to-toe with them for most of the game and were undone by their flukey second goal.
It was my second Tartan Army trip and I've got a ton of great pictures from it kicking around somewhere.
The picture of the Scotland fans below is from the CIS game on 18th June. Througout the tournament, newsagents in Sweden had displays that featured near life sized cardboard cut outs of the Swedish players. The night before this picture was taken Sweden knocked England out of the tournament in hilarious style. The Tartan Army showed their appreciation by liberationg some of the cardboard Sweden players and inviting and inviting them along to the Scotland game.
In the picture, I've arrowed cardboard Anders Limpar enjoying the game with a tartan scarf round his neck.

Nice to see Albert Kidd involved in another title decider!
Eric Sinclair and Peter Mackie were fcuking dire when they moved to Paisley.
Can’t remember St Mirren ever signing a decent player from Dundee.
Dundee got better players from St Mirren in exchange.
Eric Sinclair became better known in Paisley as a newsagent close to the old Alamo.
Peter Mackie is best remembered by me for this one against the erstwhile Rangers.
Having seen up ship the customary late goal sickener to McCoist, not for the first time, Mackie was having none of it and went on a mini solo run through the middle of them and knocked in an even later winner.
As ever with these type of things, it obviously wasn't on the telly.

About 15 years ago St Mirren played a replayed cup tie at Tannadice . The appointed ref was Alan Freeland who I believe was from the Tayside area. Wee Gus came out and said to the SFA , "we're not playing the game with him in charge as there will be local bias " ! SFA said no , and Freeland reffed the game , in the process he gave St Mirren everything and we won. Maybe it's time for some clubs to call out certain referees officially , get it out in the open , let the refs know officially that people are suspicious and they're being watched , not just on social media.
Was Freeland not the guy who specifically told MacPherson that he was going to f**k us over the next time he reffed us, in response to an altercation he had with Gus.
Yogi Hughes, of all people, witnessed it and backed Gus up, and we secured a gentleman's agreement that he wouldn't ref us again because he was retiring soon anyway.
