  1. Jackson and Lambert genuinely look delighted at Scotland's equaliser, Collins genuinely looks delighted he scored, in a vain, self loving way.
  2. Spot on, i know the guy who informed the site of this difference, the guy was happy with the change as he stated it's small things like that that help queries with times and dates etc.
  3. Motherwell v Hearts League Cup group game, lost 2-1 but redeemed ourselves at Tynecastle with a 1-0 win, we then beat St.Mirren in the Quarter Finals then got beat from Rangers in the Semi Finals, my very first trip to the new look Ibrox. There was a lot of trouble at this game as was the pre season friendly against Leeds United and the Tom Hart Memorial game against Hibs all within a month, my parents were seriously considering not allowing me to go to any more games due to all the bother. The season before, 81/82 Motherwell romped the First Division with Kilmarnock going up with them and Hearts stayed down. Season 1980/81 was Hearts' worst ever season in history.
  4. If you notice in the far top left hand corner where the North British Distillery is there is no Shed, therefore take into account the floodlights are up (Oct 1957) and then The Shed was completed in 1959 so take your guess for your year.
  5. It's somehow unsurprising that jambos were getting battered up and down the length of Edinburgh for decades around this time when you see stuff like this. Nonsense, just like the myth of The Bridge of Doom, granted the hibs thugs had a reputation but one that was only deemed for the Liberty Section in the Library. PS A decade is 10 years, decades is 20 years or more. Apologies to the rest of the members for dredging this garbage up.
  6. Various images from Hibs v Heart of Midlothian over the years, the first two are from the early 1950's, 3rd from 1970, 4th , 5th and 6th from 1978, 7th 1979, 8th 1984 and the last one from 1972.
  7. After 1983/84 both England and Scotland withdrew from the competition. The Rous Cup was the new competition so maybe it was luck of the draw that the first game against England was at Hampden. Scotland and England also played at Hampden in consecutive years back in 1972 and 1973 albeit one was a friendly despite the result.
  8. The British Home Championships ended in 1983/84, nothing to do with right wing politics at all, if that was one of the reasons then its a pretty poor one, typical lazy journalism. From what i remember it was simply down to a combination of poor football, England's desire to play against better opposition as they thought they were better than the rest, and yes, football hooliganism was at it's peak so no need to add fuel to an already burning fire but the tournament was dying and it needed changing, the English FA weren't interested in continuing with that format in place hence why The Stanley Rous Cup Competition was invented.
  9. and so after that day, the SFA, the police and Heart of Midlothian Footbll Club decied enough was enough, Hearts were then ordered to ring the terracing, main stand and enclosures with fencing and segragate the home and away fans. The famous Gorgie Road end became the away end so it was an end of an era for some old timers and traditionalists..... bloody hooligans. Still didn't stop them though.
  10. You seem upset ? Stop being dramatic and do something about a pub full of blokes wearing a 'Tommy Robinson Gagged' mask. Next home game do your stuff Super hero, pub at the West End of Gorgie Rd.
  11. His actions at Tynecastle and Parkhead (when he scored against us in a 1-3 win) were unforgivable in a lot of Hearts fans eyes, those actions were deemed as a dig at Romanov and Co according to sources but he wasn't pulling the wool over my eyes.
  12. I look forward to you putting yourself on the front line Tony* and carrying out an act of violence in the name of ' i don't like him because .....' . * I take it Tony Wonder is your real name
  13. Benches were there early 1980's, they were definitely in for the 1983/84 season. Can't remember if they were in for the Tom Hart Memorial in 1982 though.
  14. I remember a game when i was just a pup, we were in the Dunbar End and there was the usual mischievous behavior from the Gorgie Aggro on the terraces during the game, can't remember the details of the match but quite a number of Hearts fans left the ground then re appeared around 10 minutes later at the top of the Coo Shed scattering all the Hibs fans in their path as they charged down.
  15. Can always rely on the fans who are ashamed of nothing but offended by everything.
  16. After a long wait of 36 years (not far off 114) the Scottish Cup came to Tynecastle, this remains the best day of my life supporting the Hearts.
  17. The Dunbar End, South Terracing Easter Rd, even when Hearts were at their lowest the fans still turned out for the Derby game, this match was played in 1979 and as usual saw a large away support congregate on the terracing.
  18. http://www.londonhearts.com/scotland/games/19840526.html Full details of the match here, click on the link. No4 for Scotland John Wark, No2 and No5 for England are Mick Duxbury and Gream Roberts as already stated.
  19. Hearts players are Rab Prentice and Jimmy Cant (yes he can!) with the School End in the background now known as the Roseburn.
  20. I'd be quite happy to replace the seats for a crush barrier anyday.
  21. Your team is getting battered 1-5 from your geographical and most hated rivals in the Scottish Cup Final, would you still be sitting there hoping for a last 15 minute rush of goals for an equaliser or would you be homeward bound ?
