  2. Heart of Mid-Lothian Football Club 1875, white shirts, red heart.
  3. Heart of Midlothian v Rangers 14th October 1978, segragation newly installed for the first time.
  4. 121 Years ago to the date of the 20th February 1897, Heart of Midlothian FC clinched their 2nd Scottish League Title with a 5-0 thrashing of Clyde at Tynecastle Park. Hibs led the race for the title for most of the season and on the 5th Dec 1896, Hibs could have secured the title with a win at Tynecastle, but a Tom Robertson goal defeated the greens and more or less ended their title dream. Hearts completed their fixtures and secured the Championship.
  5. Ive searched... cant find the link your looking for. Wee Hearts, poor and innocent ? ha ha aye sure we are.
  6. It wasn't a sponsorship it was simply the shirt manufacturer, the Bukta logo was deemed acceptable along with the Umbro diamond but the wording not for some strange reason.
  7. Tynecastle Park boasted 2 pitches at the time, legend has it, the land that Hearts aquired for the new ground still had to be used for grazing, part of the deal.
  8. Stopped going just before they left for Italia 1990, Roxbrough took Robert Fleck who was on loan from Chelsea to Norwich at the time instead of John Robertson, never been back since.
  9. The man who got Willie Johnstone sent off for blatent cheating, was asked to report to SFA Headquarters to man up and admit his guilt by Wallace Mercer who represented Willie but of course failed to show up. The incident is well documented and to this day has never been forgiven, unbelievably 2 years later reports were known that Hearts were interested in signing him, thankfully celtic offered us John Colqhoun instead.
  10. Back in 1958 when "The Shed" was in planning, the council knocked Hearts back to completely cover the remaining terracing on the Distillary side and the whole of the McCleod St terracing due to the covered enclosure potentially blocking out light for the classrooms at Tynecastle High School and somehow strangely Gerrards Yard that existed in Wheatfield Street, roll on 30 odd years later and we have the "Roseburn Stand that towers above the same school classrooms ???? albeit the school has now moved to the land opposite the ground and existing school.
  11. That's the old distillary bonds they surrounded the West and North terracing, they're drilling to create the bases for the pillar posts for the new enclosure. As posted previously...
