  1. Pollok 1 Clydebank 1

Pollok win on pens. Unlucky bankies.

All the best to the lok [emoji482]

Real struggle tonight, don’t think we could have had many complaints if we had went out. But nice to go though when not playing as well as we have been.
  2. The west must think having the sectional league cup knockout games are more important than helping their champions, which means Talbot's opening fixtures from 27th July are as follows:
    Sat-Mon-Wed-Sat-Wed-Sat^-Mon-Wed*-Sat^-Wed-Sat-Wed*-Sat^
*Assuming they win the previous league cup game
    ^Scottish Cup
So that's 12 games in 33 days - probably the best time for Camelon to play them.

Any team that wins the league cup knock out rounds will have 12 games in 33 days not just Talbot.

Where else would they have been able to play it at today. The only way they would get more choice of venues would be having the final earlier.

And that’s exactly what should have happened

One less round in the cup due to less teams meant we knew the finalists early April, to then wait 7 weeks to play it was mad.

Could have been played on the first Sunday of May, every senior team still playing at that time. Lots of clubs to approach, Thistle, St mirren, Ayr, Motherwell oh, and even Queens Park.

  4. Not read the full thread, but it’s hardly a surprise that league presentation hasn’t been handled well.

Years ago when Lok won the league the trophy was to be presented at Dunterlie. They presented it 30 minutes before kick off before most supporters were in the ground.

Cant recall what season it was, may have been the first year of West as we had to wait for Neilston to play their last game before we officially won it and our league season was over, or may have been at the end of central leagues.

Either way, wasn’t handled well back then, so it’s now new.

I’ll go Rob Roy or Troon to go down , cant see them winning 2 games going by the recent forms .

Renfrew right in the mix though with their 3 away games left if they can pick up two draws they might stand a chance, maybe benefiting from playing two teams with little to play for.

Roby roy and Troo should pick up 3 points in their games v Petershill and Cambuslang, but as you say can they get another 3 points from their other games.

kilbirnie should be safe, imagine they will get 3 points to hit 32 and can’t see that being beaten by all the other 3 teams.

Whoever goes down is going to be in a big battle to get back up next season.

It looks almost certain that Cambuslang and Petershill will go down, so whoever joins them will be battling with whoever doesn't quite make promotion this season (2 out of 5 from Glencairn, Benburb, Rossvale, Arthurlie and Cumbernauld), plus by all accounts a re-built Darvel who intend to be challenging at the top next season. I also expect Gartcairn to continue their momentum and be up there challenging next season, and Kilsyth Rangers are never very far away.

Staying up this season could be very important, because getting back out of the Championship quickly is not "a given".

I would argue it’s easier to come back up now that 4 of the better sides are in the Premier, extending the premier has weekend the championship.

I am am sure the very top sides are good sides, but some sides have taken real hammering this season which wouldn’t have been as bad in years gone by.

  7. Or just August In Govan!
Aye, you're right - best second guess is a Junior/West of Scotland cup tie then against God knows who. It does look a decentish crowd - couple of hundred maybe? - and the Bens were maybe only pulling in 60-70 for a bog standard league game the last couple of seasons at old TInto.

I don't think it's Pollok. Zoomed in on photo and didn't recognise anyone but it was a bit blurry. Also noticed some fans in the stand with Red scarves on, which would also rule out Pollok.

    Maybe Neilston?
