Why did they remove the testimonial from Peter Lawell from their website ? Obviously they wanted to conceal their close relationship with Lawell. The SPL could and should have avoided these questions by choosing someone to represent them who is not inextricably linked to one of their member clubs. The people in charge of the governance of Scottish football seem to lurch from one debacle to another.

The point is that if the SPL had appointed someone who is impartial to represent them then there would be less room for anyone to make excuses.By appointing the corpulent Mr McKenzie they have left themselves wide open to question.It seems Harper McLeod recognised this by removing Peter Lawell's testimonial from their website.

Can you really not see why the governing body must be seen to be impartial in a matter like this and have someone to represent them who is not inextricably linked with a rival club ?

That's great,I'm sure you would have been equaly magnanimous if Donald Findlay was representing the SPL in a dispute with your club.......

My opinion will be that it was a very bad idea for the SPL to allow themselves to be left open to criticism of this type and I will question their judgement on the matter.Surely one of them has enough savvy to see how this would be perceived in the current climate ?

Do you really think that the only person available to represent the SPL was someone from a firm who have already represented Celtic ? surely not ?

No reasonable person could deny the obvious conflict of interest here with the corpulent Mr McKenzie's firm already having acted for Celtic.If the people involved in the governance of the game here couldn't forsee this situation then they must be blinkered,either that or they don't care and are determined to have their way whatever.
