  1. I would be shocked if Millar signs now.

You would be. Reckon if we sign a striker, midfielder (Millar or otherwise), defender and a keeper we'll be in decent enough shape for next season. That really is the minimum though, allows us to have more or less the same size of squad as last year, however I'd hope we'd manage to significantly improve on Beck and Flynn at least.

  2. MacDonald

    Duffie Vaulks McCracken Dick

    McGrandles Millar

    Alston Sibbald Skacel

    Loy

With three additions as above and Kingsley leaving, I think that looks a quality team. Possible weaknesses at full back but if we started the season with that I'd be creaming over the midfield and attack.

As unlikely as it is, I'd fucking love it if that was our starting XI come August. Really, we'd need to add at least another 2 players in addition to those 3 though - a striker as back up to Loy and another defender.

  3. Well chuffed with this if indeed it is true. Board hardly kept it a secret but at least they made it clear they're looking for an experienced manager this time. However, does anyone think it's strange that we reportedly had 41 folk still in the frame as of this morning, and we're ready to make an appointment tomorrow afternoon? Were 38 of the applicants complete chancers or something?

  4. And the opinion of many other fans and also people within the game. Only the people have an agenda against Pressley will say otherwise

Hang on, so what you're saying is that the only folk that disagree with you have an agenda against Elvis? Do you not maybe just think they have differing opinions?

  5. I'm gonnae make a solid 100% guarantee of a prediction.

Once we announce our new manager, some bellend tells us he's no happy and won't be back til he's gone.

Falkirk fans are bawbags by the way.

Another safe bet is our new manager will either be "a complete c**t who shouldn't be anywhere near our club" or "the cheap option."

  6. I think he's only stayed so long as he has because he wanted to go with us up to the Premiership, with guaranteed 1st goalie spot. There's very little chance of that for a few years now. Doubt if he'll be going to Hamilton though, thought they had a decent keeper already?

They have Kevin Cuthbert, solid enough most of the time but can be a bit shaky - see the first goal he conceded against Hibs. I imagine Hearts and Hibs will be sniffing around as well though.

  7. Those seats will have already brought in money for the club, given someone will have paid a fair amount to sit there for the season. I have no problem with people not wanting to move seats. Again, they've paid their money, they're entitled to voice their opinion. Just because some feel different doesn't mean they're in the wrong.

The main stand is far from shit. I had a season ticket there from the year we last won the 1st, to the end of last season and it was fine at worst. It could be argued the atmosphere is poor compared to the south stand (it is), but that doesn't make it shit. In those 8-9 years I never once seen anyone getting pulled up for swearing either.

FWIW, had I still had my season ticket I'd have been one of those getting moved and it wouldn't bother me too much. I however wouldn't like the idea of being asked/told to move if we had a temporary stand up as well. IMO the idea of a temporary stand should be to house the extra away supporters to avoid having to move our own. You'd still be getting an extra 1,000 away supporters through the gate.

Fair enough, but what if sticking the temporary stand up was to add an extra 1k on top of the income generated from giving them half the main stand? Sorry man but it makes perfect sense. The club are just trying to maximise income and I don't really understand how or why some people would be unhappy to move seats a few times per season, especially since they're now being warned before tickets go on sale.

  8. 3k is enough for any away support anyway. We've shown in our playoff games that we can attract crowds to merit the full main stand being open. This never happened in any of our previous fixtures against Hearts, Hibs or Rangers in our stint in the top flight.

    FTOF.

Agree to a point, and I don't think for a minute that we'd give half the main stand to Rangers knowing that the walk up home support on the day would fill it out. But come on, if we're not using half the stand ourselves then I don't think it's unreasonable to ask a few hundred Falkirk fans to temporarily sit elsewhere to accommodate 1k+ away fans and thus generate a healthy amount of income.
